The best birria in Los Angeles! It’s a tiny resturant in Lennox or Inglewood. Great food good service and very affordable. Chips and salsa are good and the pozole will make you forget your hangover.

I got the regular birria, it was unforgettably delicious and I had leftovers for lunch the next day. I can’t wait till the next time I go!

Place was pretty full but we placed our order to go so I asked the waitress to give us our drinks because it was hot 20 minutes passed and I approached to her and she is like don’t you see I’m busy? So worst customer service ever don’t care if the food is good!

I’ve only had burritos here but that is enough for 4 stars! I’ve had the chicken and the asada wet burrito. Their salsa is BOMB! None of that disgusting thick canned crap sauce that most places use. I think the burritos are like $ 5. Good food. Legit flavor. Cheap prices. What more do you need? I hear the birria is good but I’m not a fan of gamey meat so I haven’t tried it. It is in the hood though just fyi lol. Will stop by if I’m in the area and don’t want to hit by the taco trucks.

OMG this place brought me back to my hometown in Jalisco, little cozy place like being in my grandmas kitchen when I was a little girl, I ordered«Chilaquiles Verdes“and my husband got the FAMOUS«Birria De Chivo» both served with refried beans and rice, we felt in love the flavor was there, all the spices together if you know about Birria I highly recommend this place! My Chilaquiles were in the crunchy side and it had a nice spice to it! Definitely coming back.

A little tiny shack on the corner 110th and Prarie, right before the freeway. Plenty of parking. Walked in and felt like I walked into a Mexican cantina in Mexico. It was empty. Only 2 ladies. The cook and cashier and they both were on the phone. They weren’t too friendly. Ordered pozole, to go please. The older ladies went to back and started making it. Phone still in hand. The cashier never hang her phone up until it was time to pay. While waiting I was sweating my ass off. I guess AC wasn’t working, only ceiling fans. Seating looks tight af. This is a hole in the wall for sure. I really hope this pozole is good. I will update you later and maybe give them a couple more stars. For now they get 1 for taking my order right away. Only because I was the only one there, ha.

This place is small, so let’s get that out of the way immediately. However, what they lack in size they more than make up for it in service and quality food. The chile rellenos are amazing, the birria reeks of authenticity.

I’ve been eating at this place for years and it never disappoints. The menudo and Birria are on point! Best I’ve had in the area. The wet burritos are freaking amazing and pushing about a pound of food. Yes it’s a BIG burrito. From the outside it looks it’s so small that you could ignore it but do yourself a favor and stop by.

2 things Birria & Pozole! They have either beef or goat Birria. Of course the way to go is the goat Birria, but they are both good! Nowhere do you normally see Pozole on the menu, but at Joco it’s not only on the menu it’s the authentic red hominy Pozole. I literally have this Pozole once a month. Very Very good. The owner is super nice. I order the Pozole so much she already knows me. Dos Pozoles Por favor one with pura carne and the other with carne y pata. Enjoy!

Came here with my mother last month, she had a hankering for birria while we were at target on Century and decided to stop by after reading the Unilocal reviews. The place has outdoor and indoor seating although it is rather small, especially inside. However, you can get over that once tasting their rather tasty birria de chivo, which my mom let me taste. It is served with rice and beans, hand-made tortillas, and condiment such as onion, cilantro, lime and salsa on the side. While my mom enjoyed her birria, I got myself a taco but requested a lettuce leaf instead of tortilla, I must say the meat was well-seasoned and tender. I put some of the house salsa they served with my mot M’s food and it was delicious! I highly recommend this place.

I came for the birria and only come back for the birria. There aren’t enough good places to get my goat on. This is a gem in the area. Before I found this place in Unilocal I was driving all the way to the Mexican plaza. That was to far for a quick lunch.

Finally tried this place after always driving by it almost all my life and wanting to stop by! I knew they sold birria, so I was excited to try it… as birria is one of my fav. mexican dishes. Unfortunately after we placed our order, we were notified they had ran out of birria… I did think this was kind of odd as it was only like 11am in the morning. Instead I had a cheese and shredded beef enchilada… but when I received my dish, they were both shredded beef. I don’t like returning my food, so I ate it… my plate was ok… I did like the salsa that came with the chips and salsa. Deducted 1 star for running out of birria and another for my order being wrong. Also, I don’t think they have a A/C, so if I ever come back, I will make sure its not on a hot day… also their dining room is kinda small and most of the space is taken up by their spacious dining chairs.

WTF? This place has great birria. It’s a little smuckier(they don’t skim, or they ladeled off the surface of the stock…) than El Parian, but the flavor shows the time and patience invested in the broth. I think it’s some kind of prerequisite to bash the shit out of the goat bones before dropping them into the stock if you want to make great birria cause every damn time i have a bowl of this stuff worth writing about I feel i’ve spent as much times spitting little bone chips back into my bowl as I have spent writing the review. I AMNOTCOMPLAINING. Just making an observation. This time I was greeted by a lovely chunk of gooey knuckle that had been absolutely soaked through with that rich meaty spiced flavor of the stock. Kind of a goat and onion flavored gummy bear… Okay maybe if the bear were hit by a truck and backed over repeatedly, but the texture was like soft gummy bears, I swear. I will be back.

The review mentioning she risks her life by going there. it is not even that serious! LOL… but for someone who lives in the OC I can understand why they would feel that way. Its not the best neighborhood but its not like you’re dodging bullets when you go in and out of there… Their food is BOMB! Authentic Mexican food. Its family owned, and they serve the same kind of food at their BBQ’s so u know their food is legit Mexican deliciousness! They used to be cash only, not sure if thats still the case. As for the«action» you see outside. yes there are normally a lot of middle aged to older people walkig outside but no its not because they are offering themselves its because tis normal for people to walk in this area instead of driving 1. A lot of middle aged hispanic women in the area don’t drive because they don’t know how to, 2. Its also a poor neighborhood so they could be without a car. etc… its not skid row.

I grew up in the hood then I saw where this restaurant was. And if you’re familiar with the Prairie/Imperial area in L.A. you know this place isn’t Disneyland. Whatever. Once you go inside and get seated you forget about the outside world. The place is pretty compact but it creates a nice homey feel. I ordered the carne picada. My friends ordered the carne asada plate and the birria de chivo. Bothe their dishes arrived before mine and man did they look good. I didn’t care once I saw my plate. The steak was delicious. Good rice and beans. We all left satisfied! So don’t let the area scare you off, the food is very much worth it. Not to mention the cute waitress that was there.

My co-workers introduced me to Jocotepec in 2005 and I have been hooked since. Before I begin with the food, let me help build up your imagination by describing the location. Jocotepec is located in an unsafe, dodgy neighborhood. There are a lot of «actions» that goes on in the streets. You can see all the action by looking out the window while you’re eating. Some of the things you may see are people selling illegal stuff in the streets. Middle-aged women walking the streets, probably trying to «offer» themselves to men. Despite all this happening in the streets, it is a totally different feeling when you walk into the restaurant. The restaurant is very small(prob can fit 15 patrons) and it has a homey feel to it. I risk my life going to this restaurant just for the cheap and authentic food. The tacos are great and the Carne Asada is my fav! And I love how they give you free chips and two different salsas to try when you sit down. You can ask for more chips and salsa, they will be more than happy to give it to you.
