Wonderful little coffee shop. Excellent food and great service. A «must» on our trips through Ione as we drive to Tahoe!

We stopped here after a visit to Preston Castle. My husband and son ordered the daily lunch special which was a prime rib sandwich plus a side. They pronounced it delicious! I ordered the Brie and Apple sandwich. I loved that they used crisp, green apple with the Brie cheese plus a very light sun dried tomato aioli. The cashier and server were just lovely, very gracious! Thank you for a wonderful Saturday lunch!

Nice atmosphere, good location but very confused service. From the reviews here I get the impression the regular staff must be great, but our Sunday breakfast(and the breakfasts of at least two other couples from what we saw and heard) was handled by a completely hopeless crew. Coffee was ordered along with a turkey/cheddar sandwich and an egg/spinach/cheddar English muffin. We were handed a number placard to place on our table for the server to find us. No coffee cup was handed out before counter person took the next order — she forgot to ring up our coffee order. Waited until next customer was finished ordering before again placing order for… a coffee. She again did not hand over a coffee cup before taking order from next customer. We reminded her of our coffee order, then she gave us the cup. We sit down and waited for 18 minutes while watching servers walk around asking various tables if what they had was their order. Apparently not everyone was given number placards to place on their table. One group of 4 right next to us were served their breakfast sandwiches and within 30 seconds of the server walking away, they called him back because they had noticed everything on everyone of their orders was wrong. Either they were given someone else’s order or their order was completely screwed up. We waited and watched as another couple who ordered after us got their food first. Then I started to watch the crew and how they worked. It seemed to me that they had to walk into another back room often for common items that should have been staged at their workplace from the start. Finally the server came to our table and asked if he had brought what we ordered. What was the point of using a number placard system if they did not use it? The order was not ours and he continued asking those around us if it was their order. I began to feel as though either I was in a Monty Python show skit or maybe a hidden camera reality show. At this point I went to the counter to ask about our order and was told it was coming out next. Cool! Again the server comes to our table and asks us if what he had is what we had ordered. It was not. Reminder: we ordered a turkey and cheddar sandwich and a egg/spinach/cheddar English muffin. He brought a turkey cream cheese and cranberry sauce sandwich, and an egg/spinach/bacon tomato and NO cheddar English muffin. At this point I simply sais YES, that is our order(sorry to whoever that order belonged to but at this point I didn’t give a damn anymore). Food was presented nicely but was rather bland in flavor. We ate, left and were upset that we had tipped the staff at the time of order. Lesson learned — tip staff, even if you have to drop it in a counter located tip jar, AFTER your meal. Next time I need a breakfast in Ione, I will probably go to the gas station and get ready made sandwiches.

Stopped in for a quick breakfast with a client one morning, and had probably the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had.. Excellent vibes to the location as well.

Went there to pick up food for guests and was not satisfied. They got my order wrong and I am still trying to figure out why I was charged so much. They told me it was $ 32, but charged my debit card for $ 45! Don’t know if I will return at this point.

They serve breakfast all day which I’m all about. Young lady working behind the counter suggested the breakfast burrito. With a drink it was about 7 dollars, and it was a decent sized burrito. Side of gravy and salsa next to the burrito. A good meal and a good price. I would recommend, and I will be back.

Took a client here because she requested it. Prices are lowered and more food for the price. Bakery items are good too.

Fabulous intimate setting, my wife, 3 Year old daughter, and I came here directly after church and ordered, then about 50 people came in for lunch with the car club, a rude bunch of folks, but the staff controlled the situation excellently. We still got our food right away, they even still made waffles for my daughter even though it was after 1. Food was delicious and warm. All 5 staff members wore smiles and we’re both funny, and very accommodating to us. May even make this our after church tradition even though we live in Jackson. Thank you Doug Winter.

Joined in a car club meeting today. Arrived for lunch at 2:15 in the afternoon. Buffet serving BREAKFAST. Asked to place order instead of buffet. Told NO by the dark haired gal at the counter. Other patrons having other than buffet. The place was clean but that does not mitigate a rude attitude and barely mediocre food. The buffet menu was all carbs, sausage, bacon, corned beef hash and scrambled eggs. Ended up walking to Subway. Piss poor attitude and greasy food. Didn’t even have any toast! Will never go back. I certain that the owner just doesn’t care.

I’m not even sure how to rate this! We decided to visit Ione for the first time living so close in a Rancho Murieta. The service was awful. Man taking order seemed distracted with another girl messing with register. Our order was wrong 2x having to even pay more after we sat down because he forgot to charge us for something. Our order was wrong, soups were wrong, ask to eat in, packed to go etc. We enjoyed our desserts and even bought pastries to take home. I had the turkey and cranberry sand which, it was disappointing. Hardly any sauce on it leaving sandwich dry. Our soup wasn’t even warm. I think it’s a dishonor that you have to ask for your food to be warm. It should be a given. The restaurant itself is adorable and rustic. I think that with better staff, friendly staff, greeting of people and actually listening to what they say, would help this place out a lot. It’s amazing how much common sense and kindness cost these days.

A solid joint with a solid rep. Part of Ione’s appeal is how little there is to it, but what there is includes Clark’s Corner, the local coffee shop/espresso bar/café/diner/honky-tonk. We arrived a rainy weekend afternoon, looking for grub and found it: a tasty tri-tip sandwich with spinach and horseradish sauce for him w draft beer and garden salad side, a chef sald *en compose* for her. Both were competently made and presented quickly. The sandwich could have used a little more seasoning, a little less horseradish and a bit more tri-tip, but was worthy nonetheless. The Chef Salad came with dressing on the side and was more than enough to satisfy. Like I said, a solid joint with a solid rep.

New to town! Visited Clark’s about six times now. I’m always impressed with the food and the service is better than it was 4 months ago. Prices are decent and the food seems fresh, current and made to order. I love the apple and brie cheese panini, the quiches, soups, tritip salad, etc. So happy to see they could make a vanilla Italian soda. I’ll be back just for that!

This is a great place in a wonderfully quaint foothills town. The staff are fun and recognize us when we come in. The food is excellent and they will customize a breakfast for you if it’s not on their menu. The latte’s are great. I fully recommend this place if you’re taking a Sunday drive or heading to the golf course as we are.

Went to Clark’s Corner while visiting Ione on business. I had the Tri-Tip sandwich and an Iced Mocha. The food was really good but the service was even better. They treated me like family even though I was only there for about 20 minutes. I’m from Sacramento and now I can’t wait to go back to Ione.

I just had Clark’s cater my daughters 13th birthday in the banquet room. Chris and Ashley were great to work with. Ashley was SOHELPFUL from set up to checking on us during the 4 hours we were there. The décor, food, drinks, and cake were amazing! Thank you so much for helping make this a great birthday party for my girl! If you are having an event or party I highly recommend Clark’s Corner.

The best little café in Ione. The sandwiches, soups, salads, and pastries are awesome and so are the specialty drinks. I’ve been hooked since 2011. My secrect getaway spot :)

I live in Sacramento and come up to Amador for meetings a couple times a month, and I always try to stop by Clarks. For $ 10 you can get a good size paninni with one of their great sides and a soda. Beautiful old building with a couple comfy sofas. I do think they changed there pesto to a more mayo base, which is not favorite; but overall the quality and service here is great! Plus, they always have yummy new specials to try.

This place was an excellent find while exploring Ione for the first time! It’s obvious why this place is busy — not only does it offer an excellent atmosphere and a comfortable place to visit with friends, but the food and coffee are EXCELLENT. My husband had the Pot Pie, which we HIGHLY recommend. I had a «Ratatouille» moment when I tasted it, if anyone knows what I’m referring to! It basically took me back to some wonderful memories at grandmother’s house. I ordered the quiche, and it was flaky and delectable! The middle was a little cold but that was just an error made by staff I’m sure. I ate all of it despite its lukewarm center. We ordered half salads with our meal(perfect size and lots of veggies!) and drank water and the total came in under 20 bucks. We ordered two white mochas for the road and that was around 8 bucks. The décor is a little bit Parisian without being over the top, and there was tons of historic Ione imagery all over the restaurant. A very cute spot. Will definitely be returning!
