Very nice gym because it wasn’t ever packed with people and had plenty of equipment to do many different exercises. Never used the pool, but it was big and would’ve been very nice. The staff was helpful and friendly too. The problem that I had was the pricing and hidden fees. They don’t do a very good job of explaining the different packages or fees associated with them. I ended up paying $ 50 extra between the initiation and cancellation fees, so just be familiar with that. Other than that, the location is perfect and it gets the job done.

Iowa City Fitness is a one of a kind gym. After going to many gyms, I can truthfully say that this gym is the 1^st one that actually makes me want to go! The main aspect of this gym that makes it stand out from others is its atmosphere. Everyone there is so friendly. I have never felt judged by anyone while working out there and I feel a strong sense of encouragement from everyone that works there.
I highly recommend training with Adam, also the owner of the gym. I have worked out with him twice so far and I can’t wait for more! He is very knowledgable and completely dedicated to your success. Aside from training, Adam knows every member by name and genuinely cares about the well being of everyone that works out there.
A huge plus about this gym is how clean and spaced out it is. There is a great variety of equipment! I cannot stress enough how great this gym is! If you are looking for a gym in Iowa City, you MUST check this place out!

Arguably the best gym in the greater Iowa City area! Indoor heated pool, Tanning, free weights, machines galore, covered parking and walkway, owner operated (rare find these days) ²⁴⁄₇ access available (no excuses). Personal training one on one that is tailored to fit YOU (which is great because not every one is a beginner or advanced) with your personal training comes along with expert nutritional advice to once again fit YOUR personal needs and to help you reach your fitness or weight loss goals. Its a great feeling to belong to a gym where you find the owner working with members of a wide variety almost everyday! Not to mention its in a perfect location right smack dab in the center of downtown.

Best gym and tanning in Iowa City!!! It’s fair priced and never super packed like the UI Rec Center. I love the space and staff! It’s really convenient having the option to go whenever I want!

Here’s what it isn’t: fancy or clean or well-​supplied.
Here’s what it is: empty and full of equipment, staffed by great guys who remember you.
For me, that’s a perfect fit: no fighting with undergrads for the cable machine or ANY machine! Open 24 hours with a key, lockers, towels. Not for everyone, but the perfect fit for me.
