Subway is not really somewhere that I go because I’m really craving it, but honestly it’s a better place to get food than most places on campus. However, as with most other establishments on and off campus it definitely has its pros and cons. To start with the things that I do like about this location, I would love to mention the quality of the breads as well as their selection of various chips. Most importantly, the meats that are offered are rather fresh and have good consistencies, with no sort of byproducts or weird textures apparent in any of the sandwiches I’ve ordered. I’ve had good experience with the turkey breast sandwiches as well as the tuna sandwiches, in addition to occasionally choosing the cheese and steak sandwich. In all these cases, I’ve been very happy with the meat quality. As great as the meats and breads are, the quality of the vegetables and the dressings/spreads is really hit and miss. I’ve had instances where my sandwich has been the best Subway sandwich I’ve ever had in my life, and then other times I’ve had sandwiches than have been rendered inedible due to the obvious staleness of the vegetables and toppings. Let me tell you, nothing ruins a good sandwich like a nearly expired tomato. Another issue is that the employees are not really well trained to handle crowds of larger than two or three customers, and I’ve had to correct the employees multiple times because they almost gave my sandwich to the wrong person or they started putting someone else’s orders on my sandwich. In any case, this is one of the better places to eat on campus so I wouldn’t complain too much compared to some of the other restaurants on campus.

Jazious Carmankle ate here once. He said the sandwich was okay. Had the meatball sub.

It’s a Subway… What more is there to say, really?

They dropped my sandwich, and they picked it back up, rolled it up in the paper, and made me eat it! I still had to pay for it! Nah, just kidding. They made another one quickly and gave the sandwich to me for free.

One time I came here when I was hungry and they made me a sandwich which I paid for with a credit card. Then I asked for a cup of water and they told me the water cups were next to the fountain drinks. I got my water, drank it and ate my sandwich. Then I cried when I remembered how we used to have Quiznos with 4 buck torpedoes. I can’t believe you guys wanted ANOTHER subways. Seriously? So creative uci.

There is usually quite a line and the quality in which the sandwich artists make the sandwiches is somewhat sloppy. But I love Subway for what is is — good stuff. My usual: 6″ flatbread steak & pepper-jack cheese toasted with a ton of BBQ sauce(sometimes honey mustard or sweet onion too) — delish!

One of the many food court offerings at UCI that have given me food poisoning :’) **Don’t come here before 11AM or you too might spend the next 20 minutes in the bathroom across the hall in a nausea and vomit-induced existential crisis(because we all have enough of those without the help of gastroenteritis)

conveniently located inside of uci when you are starving and need something to eat! for the month of january selected footlong subs are only $ 5! i came around dinner time, so it was kind of packed, but they had pretty fast people working there, which is great. i seriously have to compliment their buffalo chicken sub. the amount of chicken they give is greater in portion to any other subways i have ever been to. not sure if it is because they were really busy tho. the chicken is not prepacked into portions in cardboard plates but instead in a bucket, so they scoop a great amount of chicken into your bread. also, since it isnt prepackaged, you dont get tiny chicken pieces like other places, but get giant chunks of chicken. there is also a lot of sauce in my sandwich that i got some spice out of it. other locations i have been to were so lacking in sauce, it wasnt even spicy at all. the bread was toasted a bit too long in my opinion, but it was super crunchy. abundant amount of veggies as well. i will definitely come back to this location again if i am craving a subway.

It’s convenient. It’s fast. It’s simple. It’s variety. It’s fulfilling. It’s cheap. What’s not to like? I mostly go here between classes, due to my hectic schedule. What catches my eye, particularly, is the constant updating of new deals! I’ve gotten a foot-long Chipotle chicken for $ 5.40(including tax), which is excellent considering the quantity you get. Sometimes I split it off in half and save the other half for dinner. Moreover, it’s convenient to carry with you, since the sandwich itself is cut in-half, wrapped, and in a bag. What I normally enjoy getting is flat-bread(so, so, so recommend anyone who hasn’t tried it to at least try it once — I almost guarantee that you won’t go back), pepper jack cheese, and either a BLT, chicken, or tuna. I put almost all the vegetables on there(except olives, jalapenos, banana peppers, pickles, and avocados), and put either mayo, honey mustard or Chipotle sauce. The end result always ends up tasting pretty good. Finally — the raspberry cheesecake cookies. What’s not to like?

As a fan of Subway, I am so thankful that we have two on campus! Although both offer the same menu and prices, I prefer this one in the Student Center based on customer service. It does get crowded especially between 12 pm-1 pm, but they do their best to make the line go quick. Prices are not as high as other dining facilities on campus which is one of the main reasons why I like eating here often. It is definitely one of the best dining choices on campus in regards to price, customer service, and menu.

I’m so glad Quizno’s is gone. Who went to that place, anyway? Poor college kids don’t need a nine-inch toasted flatbread for $ 6.25. They need a five-dollar foot-long, man! Boo, Quizno’s! Yay, Subway! Welcome to the UCI Student Center. All right — this place is a Subway franchise? What’s there to say about it? Well, you get the $ 5 Footlong deals that you would get anywhere else and you get UCI students that are employed there to make the sandwiches for you — and then you go to a little table and you scarf that mo-fo sammich down like there’s no tomorrow! It shouldn’t take you more than ten minutes. That grub is good. And good for you! Sort of. So, take a break from Panda Express and Wendy’s and head to Subway, you health-conscious UCI’er, you. It’s Subway. Minus one star because they charged me tax… because a university has to do so… it’s a state law.

The line moves pretty quick, but it definitely builds up around lunch/dinner times. KNOWWHATYOU’REGONNAORDERBEFOREYOUGETTOTHEFRONT. It keeps things moving, ya know? That or just avoid rush times completely and eat at random times like 3pm, like me. One of the cheaper food alternatives on/near campus and satisfying for around 5 $. I spend a lot of time here. It’s kinda sad. I’ll miss you subway!

Close to campus. Healthy and good deal. The sandwich maker wiped his knife on the blank paper under my sandwich… then it was wrapped together with the Subway logo paper. Why did he have to wipe his knife on my paper???

Used to be a Quiznos before being renovated into a 2nd Subway on UC Irvine’s campus(after the one already at BC Cavern). It’s like any typical Subway location, but does not honor promotional coupons. Due to the high traffic of the West Food Court and the Student Center in general, it does tend to get busy during and around lunch time. The result is a fairly long line and a little bit of a wait in line. Also, things tend to get a bit cramped in line when you’re at the counter waiting for you sandwich. Overall, there wasn’t anything that really stood out for me with this location. However, I think it’s a solid addition. Simply another option to eat at the West Food Court.
