Yeah, yeah there may be a wait at times but if you want delicious Puerto Rican food in D-FW this is the place to go. The mofongo are like you get them in the island and the Trifongo is a remix that’s also great. My favorite is the sweet mofongo with«carne molida» and cheese. Start with some empanadillas and alcapurrias.

Last Saturday was my second visit to this restaurant. Prices are a bit high for the presentation. It is more like a Puerto. Rican cafeteria than a restaurant. I had a sweet plantain mofongo stuffed with ground beef and swiss cheese; it was amazing. Portions are good, I don’t eat much so I took home what was left for dinner. The owner could invest a little in the appearance and lightning inside the«restaurant». Overall, I would recommend it!

Place is quite quaint. But as soon as we got in it was freezing cold Me and my dad ate chicharron de pollo with tostones which was ok nothing like New York food but close to home. My husband had the pork. We had also wanted pastelitos sometimes they have them sometimes they don’t which is annoying bc is something I love. They should always have it. Food was good but it was freezing we did complain but i think there heater was broken. I will come back but once they fix there heater

Went all the way from ft worth looking for some decent carribean food and saw this place. I had the mofongo and I was not impressed. It’s such a shame that there aren’t many choices around the DFW area for good carribean food. Can’t wait to go back to NJ/NY.

Good food and good salsa music. I live a little far from the restaurant but every time I’m around the area I try to visit. The owners are nice and attentive.

If you love Puertorican food, and are nearby, this is the place to come. Good variety, awesome service, and great taste. Don’t be misguided by the name, not just coffee, but a large variety to choose from. Chef Christopher delights in working around not just the average Puertorican food, he always looks forward to exceed. For example, try his«mofongo relleno de churrasco con salsa de zetas», I highly recommend it! Otherwise there many other great plates to choose from. You will never be disappointed!

2 stars in total: one star because is the only puertorrican rest around and I’m puertorrican and another star goes to the deliciously fried fatty alcapurrias. The food is bland, expensive and is an insult to the Puerto Rican cuisine. The beans are a disgrace! No ham? No pumpkin? No recao or cilantro? Really? The churrasco is cut in pieces and the garlic seasoning is overwhelming.

Food is tasty. I’m from NY and have looked for Caribbean food near me for a while. Will return when I get a bad craving for this type of food again. 3 starts because the service is very slow took 45 minutes to get take out. I know food is made daily. But how hard is to pack rice and beans and already made pork in a box? The ladies were very pleasant but was loosing patience waiting for food.

One star… only because no stars isn’t a choice. Waited over 40 minutes and the food never arrived. This place is filthy and the service is beyond bad. No apology for wasting my time. I’d avoid this dump like the plague.

Awesome authentic food and great ambience! I ordered the pollo guisado with an added side of ripe plantains(maduros) and everything was tasty! I was on a biz trip in the area and found this place on Unilocal and checked reviews and pics before coming. It was exactly what I had expected — felt like your typical neighborhood boriqua restaurant(even though it’s at a strip mall in suburbia Dallas!) Totes coming back if I travel to this part of Texas again!

Great service! Great food! I ordered the stew beef that came with rice and red beans, you can’t go wrong with this amazingly tasting combo. The only bummer is that they don’t take AMEX… I need my airline points!!!

I am new to Dallas TX. I come from Chicago IL Humboldt Park neighborhood(true Boricua town). I was a little worried when I couldn’t find any authentic Puerto Rican food in Dallas. So I ventured out of Dallas and into Irving to find this jewel of a place. Let me tell you it’s as close to my grandmother’s food as I can get. I had the grilled chicken breast with oions, white rice and beans, and a side of mofongo. The food was phenomenal! The owner is super sweet. I wish I would have gotten her name. A MUSTTRY!

Great food, and even better service! Felt very welcome. The lady at the front explained the menu to us when we came up to order. I ordered the carne frita(fried pork chop) and it was quite delicious. The beans were fantastic. I’d recommend this place anytime! :)

I’m sorry but this place doesn’t even deserve 1 star. i just moved here from Miami and facebook was practically glorifying this place. –The alcapurria was salty and the meat was non existent. –I ordered the mofongo con carne frita. the meat tasted like grease no sazón/flavor. The mofongo was pasty/gooey PLEASE just don’t and if you do don’t expect something GREAT. i found another spot and its a gazillion times better…

I actually like this place more than the four stars I am giving it. This is one of those unique places we have here in Dallas/Ft Worth. Sure there are other Caribbean restaurants and yes we are in the land of Tex/Mex but this is the only Puerto Rican restaurant here. The humble but very cute interior reminds me of the mom and pop restaurants you would find in rural Puerto Rico. The basic tables are covered with unremarkable table clothes but have cute dinning mats with a map of the island printed on them. The chairs are plastic and are what you would find in use at someones back yard. However the chairs go perfectly with the feel of place, because the staff make you feel like you came over to their house for lunch or dinner. This is clearly a family run place so you get the good and bad that comes with that. Sometimes they close early and their menu sometimes changes. You can like their face book page where they daily list their menu and tell you when fresh pan sobao(Puerto Rican Bread) is ready. Their pan sobao is awesome and is a must try! They don’t always have it because they sell out. What I liked: *Pollo Guizado(stewed chicken) was so yummy and melts in your mouth. *Carne Guizada is just as good only it is beef. *Pernil(pork) with arroz con gandulez(yellow rice) and Habichuelas(beans) is sooo good. Puerto Rican Beans are NOT called frijoles they are Habichuelas. What I didn’t like: The Mofongo(Mashd Plantains) and the Carne frita(fried pork tips). I actually like this dish but I didn’t like it from here. It was way too dry. Also the prices are a little high. Each plate is 8 – 12 bucks a piece, but the portion size is pretty good. When they get a lot of customers they can get overwhelmed and this will affect your wait time for food and food options. These negatives take a star away. Above all else you must try the pan sobao. That in itself is reason to come here. It is $ 3 a pound and money well spent. The juego de parcha(Passion fruit juice) is so good and reminds me of my visits to the island.
