Went for lunch and wasn’t too«wow-ed» with the menu. Just ordered chips and queso(which btw the queso was very tasty) and a drink: the silver star Texas honey Manhattan. Great drink. The place was completely empty for it to be lunch time. The bar has a nice view. Seems like a place to come for happy hour.

How to begin, the place was basically empty, lights were burnt out, several liquors were out, several beers were out and numerous items on the menu had been cut… a sure sign that things have gone completely wrong… save your time, and go elsewhere. Industry Insider

Walk up appeal is great – nothing like the smoky, intoxicating aroma of barbecue! I’ve been here a few times before but never on a Friday and was surprised to find it so easy to get a table at lunchtime. The menu has been updated since my last visit and there is now a lunch menu with several $ 10 items. Service was a little slow given how few customers were there but the server was friendly and accommodating. Fried pickles were thinner and lighter than expected but that made them more like chips and the bbq ranch dip made them even better. Easily enough for 3 guys to share. The server recommended the honey barbecue chicken tacos over the pulled pork tacos based on how popular they are, and I was happy I took his advice. They were surprisingly flavorful, full of pulled chicken and topped with plenty of pico and a side of salsa and lime crema that added to the flavor explosion in my mouth. Definitely recommend them. My tablemates both got meat plates with sides and they both had no complaints. I’m not a whiskey drinker, but for those who are this looks like the place to be. Surprisingly long list of whiskeys, scotches and other libations.

Service at first a little slow but was ok after a bit. Only one server but it is a Monday night. The trinity was very good !!! Recommend it! Slaw a little bland beans are good. Bar tap awesome!!! I would come back.

As an avid craft beer drinker, i was very impressed with their selection. And their prices(I am comparing to CA…). Delicious BBQ chicken salad. Overall, very good experience.

Get the Mac-n-cheese. I had read the other reviews and went along with the recommendations and it actually lived up to them. I got the burger with smoked bacon and smoked cheddar cheese as well and it was fantastic. Like a high-end bowling alley burger with the right amount of grease to make it still taste great. Definitely will be back.

I’m not sure why this place doesn’t get better ratings. We went for dinner last week and it was excellent. I had the 2 meat plate, the brisket was good and the potatoes were awesome. The sausage was over done but I would give it a pass. The real gem Is the beer menu, they have an excellent selection and happy hour from 4 – 7 with some really outstanding beers. I would check it out.

The Honey Bourbon Chicken Tacos were pretty good. The corn relish was a nice touch. 3 nice sized street tacos that’ll fill you up. Their sour cream was good, they added something to it but I couldn’t put my finger on it(no pun). I really wanted to try one of their special cocktails but they didn’t have any ready due to it not being ordered for some time. The vibe in there was weird. Idk if they were having a kitchen issue. There weren’t that many people there to begin with, maybe no more than 8 people. Maybe I caught them at the wrong time.

Brisket was smoked well, just too much fat for my likening. The bacon mash eye also good. Will most definitely be back to try the homemade sausage and beer can chicken. Gave it a 4 due to the extremely cold fries. I had high hopes for the fries too

HOTGARBAGE, There are several things in life I really truly enjoy doing 1 Cooking and a close 2nd eating and trying all types of food with that being said I past this place F. M Smoke about 42xs before I finally decided to give them a try… ok a few thing about F. M Smoke. 1. The menu has very little of what you would expect to see on a smoke house menu i. e meat by the lb or good old fashioned Texas Chop beef… ok not so much. 2. This should probably should be #1 it’s been a very long time since I’ve had Brisket this bad you kno the one that’s been gently smoked lightly salted and not quite cooked long enough for the fat to render yeaaa one of those. 3. There is a Monti Crisco on the menu. OHYEAHTHISISPERFECT… I mean this place use to be an old Benigans and this is a genus of an idea. not to add they flipped it and added sliced Brisket instead of turkey & ham… great in THEORY… I mean just terrible way to greasy not to mention the rubbery over fatty Brisket was not even Hot… In closing the overall food experience was terrible however hats to the server for making it right…

Can only comment for Happy Hour. I was expecting a very huge restaurant. It’s quite small. Happy Hour prices are nice. Great place to unwind after work. Two beers for me was 8 bucks and change. Lots of choices to choose from. Local craft beer to bottled beers. They also have hard liquor. Not sure if those are applicable for Happy Hour. Nonetheless, great place for HH.

I rate this place as average. Nothing was really bad, but it wasn’t great. I ordered the brisket sandwich which was ok. It came with a little sauce on the side. Suggest they get squeeze bottles of different flavored to satisfy all tastes. The craft beer menu looked interesting

The 2 stars are for the bear selection, which is 20(I think) taps of mostly Texas craft beer. I showed up 10ish on a Friday night. There are maybe 5 people, 2 at the bar. I was seated right away, and service seemed good. They let you sample any of the beers, but they don’t provide descriptions, so you are tasting blind. I ended up getting one I knew. The online menu isn’t the same as when you are there, meaning I didn’t know what to get. I decided on a burger, which I ordered medium rare, but came rare. When he set it down and said rare.. . I should have asked him to take it back, but I didn’t and I regretted it. I was only able to finish half of it – which I have never said about a burger. Though the burger was large, it wasn’t the size that kept me from finishing, but the gross– out factor of meat under-cooked for me. Ultimately, the worst was the side of Mac and cheese, which is «smoked» — but it doesn’t warn you of that in the menu. It isn’t real smoke, but a metric ton of liquid smoke, which is really unhealthy, especially in large amounts. I ended up getting a mild migraine from the chemicals.

Way too pricey for the quality of food. Brisket=average Pork=above average Sausage= horrendous I would never go there again. The barbeque sauce was the best thing i had

The WORSTBBQ in north Texas. This is the second time to try this place. I ordered their staple, sliced brisket on a bun. It’s suppose to come with cheese, pickles and onion. I ordered No Cheese; not only did it have cheese but I should have ask for Meet.(See picture) this is the Fat from it, more than half the sandwich. REALLY, is this what they call a BBQ sandwich. My fault for trying this place again. I won’t make this mistake a third time, and neither should you…

Large portions and reasonable pricing. Huge beer selection and a pretty wide variety. Wait staff was professional and well informed about the menu. I had the chicken fried steak with bacon mashed potatoes. The steak was thick and juicy. The bacon mashed potatoes had plenty of bacon in them. We also ordered the fried pickles with a bbq ranch sauce. The sauce was spicy but delicious. All in all, a great place to eat.

After trying this place out for dinner several times and ordering different dishes each time, I am disappointed to say no bueno. No me gusta. I can’t believe they have the same owner as The Holy Grail in Plano, which is 10x better than FM Smokehouse in every way, except for décor which doesn’t make their food taste better. I’ve had the chicken fried steak which is actually good but becomes mushy and monotonous and no one ever finishes it or bothers to take it home for leftovers. Frito pie with brisket is good for one thing only – the Fritos! Holy Grail makes a way more delicious frito pie. Nachos used to be good, but they suck now. Fried pickles are the only good thing here now despite the menu being revamped. They need to bring The Holy Grail Chefs and manager over to whip FM Smokehouse into shape. Jesus Christ, just bring the whole crew from The Holy Grail over! This place has so much potential to be a good bar and restaurant hang out, but the food here sucks! The only reason I keep coming back is because my boyfriend likes their beer selection.
