Nice new, bright store. Nice selection, well organized, clean location. Friendly staff~

Nice store, but customer service is not up to par. When I walked in to sell my items I was not greeted. I stood in front of two ladies holding my heavy bag of goodies to sell for at least a minute before being greeted and asked if they could assist me. Of course, the it took them 5 minutes tops to go through all my items to tell me how little they would give me. As far as the store it’s clean, small and organized.

When I walked into this store I was shocked to see that it’s not like most ½ price books that I been to. It was very clean and lots of space. I came to sell my books and they were fast and efficient, however the price they offered was horrible. I turned in colleges books and rewarding books and software booked. All that for 15.99. Yes you heard me correctly I gave them over 14 books and all that was offered was 15.99. This included my accounting book that cost me 400 bucks. I was disappointed when that was the amount that they offered to me, however I had no ambition to take the books back and take them to my car. So advise to those who are selling, don’t come expecting to make any money but if your just needed to get rid of the old books that are sitting around in the house then please take your old books there. Other than the selling experience everyone was nice and sweet. I would definitely come back ! Great selection of books of and awesome price ’

After multiple years of no book stores in Irving, this HPB is a much welcome addition. The staff are very welcoming, friendly, and knowledgable. Went in looking for a few YA books for the nephew and the staff were really accommodating. They knew what was current and popular. The new book section at the front is great too because it eliminates a need to go to another city for current bestsellers.

The location was very clean, organised and had amazing collections. I give it 5 stars because Gary at the till was amazing and very kind! Made my transaction quick, was smiling and in a great mood it appeared. I couldn’t find the original book I went in for but I purchased other stuff. I recommend his location albeit it being small.

I’m super excited Irving has a Half Price Books again. This location is clean, books are organized and nice placed on sleeves and displays. There’s a large selection of books and albums to choose from.
Staff was nice and available to help you find a book or whatever you’re looking for.

They stole my bookbag when I donated my books. I say «donated» because, as I’m sure all of you who have sold books there know, they pay about ten cents a book. Anyway, they failed to return my incredible vintage bookbag and I failed to remember to ask for it. I called them about 15 minutes after I left the store and they said they didn’t have it, but the manager would check their survellance film. Surveillance film? ooooooooooooooohhhhhkay, well whatevs. Nowhere to hide anymore anyway. But manager never called me back. Sure, it’ just a bookbag but it had sentimental value. And yes, I checked my car. Even though I knew it wasn’t there. Anyway, I called to check with the manager, who was pretty darn nonchalant, couldn’t remember (uh…stoner much?) if he’d checked the vid, and summarily kinda blew me off. Last time I donate to those commies! It’s good to have a bookstore in Irving again but hey, the libraries here rock. I can donate my used books to the Friends of the Library, and they’ve never stolen a bookbag from me. The librarians can be rude but that’s a comment for another review. For further reading, as it were.

This particular store is quite deceiving from the outside because I thought it would be smaller. They have made the layout of the store beneficial for everyone since they are still able to house hundreds of books, CDs and DVDs.
I am, let’s say, a frugal person. A cheapie, I suppose. So, HPB is a dream store for me. Great prices on everything they carry. And the clearance section… gees, I should just carry in a lawn chair and have a seat in this section! I have found so many unbelievable bargains in this section of the store!
My hubby is really into Sudoku. They have a nice section of these, as well as other puzzle books. Much cheaper here than any where else. I usually buy several for him.
If you are looking for books or movies, this is your place! Oh, and when you clean out your media selections at home, take them here so you can get some extra moolah!

Great place for buying and selling books, games, music, VHS, DVDs, knick-​knacks, and much more! It has a wide selection of everything and fair prices.

New book store and it was clean and very well presented for the amount of space they have. Staff is friendly and made it feel like a good place to be at and work at. Selection is great and I still do t know how they cram all that stuff in a small space.

I love this place!!! Since it was opening this weekend, they had coupons for every day from Thursday to Sunday. Scored some great deals for my toddler with the 40% off coupon on Thursday and 50% off coupon on Sunday. The store is very well kept, the sales people are awesome. Since it’s very close to where I live, I’ll be coming here very often. Actually, was there just yesterday.
