Expect long wait… They take forever… Lines out the door, only 1 cashier but 4 in the back prepping your meal.

Every time we fly into DFW, we stop here. Why? Because Popeye’s is no where to be found on Maui! ATMOSPHERE: This location in Terminal D has a small dining area, and is always kept clean. We always take it to go and eat it in the American Airline’s Admirals Club. FOOD: Combo #4 — My spouse and I split this. The combo comes with 4 pieces — a drum, thigh, breast, and wing pieces, a biscuit, mashed potatoes & gravy, and a drink. We opted for non spicy chicken and a side of coleslaw. The chicken is super crunchy on the outside, like KFC’s extra crispy version, tender & juicy inside, and has a flavor that’s more subtle than KFC, but we still like it. The mashed potatoes came dusted with black pepper and were tasty, but my spouse still prefers KFC’s coleslaw. I’m not a coleslaw fan at all. Raw cabbage… Yuck. SERVICE: We were quickly greeted by one of the 2 females on duty that day. Service was fast & friendly. OVERALL: Good chicken, fast & friendly service. Come to Maui please!

For airport food… not too bad. Not the cleanest, but they were a bit busy. No complaints about the food, pretty standard Popeye’s fare — a bit spicer than KFC(mild) to pretty spicy(spicy). Kids may want the milder choice. Service was fast for me, got my food before I finished paying. I like the red beans & rice. Only sweetened ice tea :(

After we got off our 1st flight, we went straight to Popeyes. Lol. My fiancé was craving them(even though we have plenty of them at home), but we wanted something really good before we left to Mexico. We had about 4 hours before our next flight, so why not. We found it and luckily it wasn’t that busy. Number 2 in line and everyone was working smoothly. A lot of chicken prepared in the rack. We ordered the 12 piece chicken with 2 large sides and biscuits. It costed like $ 38. Back at home, the same combo would costed about $ 16. We paid about twice as more at the airport! What do you expect, it’s the airport. But we were hungry lol. We sat and waited about maybe 3 minutes and the employee was really nice to serve it to us(he didn’t have to do that). He asked us if there was anything else and to enjoy. We ripped into eating those chickens! Then all of a suddenly, there was a long line. Luckily we beat rush hour. The chicken was very crispy and moist. Cooked nicely and easy to pull the meat off the bones. The mashed potatoes and gravy was very hot, but so good. The biscuits were very warm and soft. Fries were crispy and hit. Everything was good! I was so hungry that I forgot to take a picture of the food. Lol.

Most disappointing Popeyes ever. I was traveling on business, and at 1:30 in the afternoon, there was a HUGE rush. I ordered my food after waiting a solid 15 minutes… and then got the worst attitude every from the SHIFTSUPERVISOR as I handed over my AmEx. No «i’m really sorry, but we don’t take AmEx» but a snooty«We don’t take AmEx.» Ugh. You’re in an airport, a lot of people travel on business with AmEx corporate cards, c’mon now. Then, there was a foreign family trying to order their food, and I tried to help decipher what they were asking for(which was butter, but Mr. Shift Supervisor was being impatient and rude with them) and he snootily told them«we don’t carry butter.» Once again, butter… on biscuits… why wouldn’t you? I recommend giving your business to one of the other restaurants in the terminal. Not worth the wait at all.

Yummy chicken at a good price. The employees are quick and the store looks clean. It was my first time trying Popeyes and I was surprised at how good it was :)
