Tacos Los Colinas

Just drove by this place and it is out of business. I actually liked the food, so I’m bummed. My 1 star represents my disappointment that it is no longer in business and not the food.

Quaint spot. taste wise, just didn’t really impress. I mean I guess it makes a decently priced lunch option which would technically fill you up, but I would not say satisfyingly so. When you are craving something like a torchys tacos or even a fuel city tacos taste, this place won’t meet that need.

As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the two workers. They were both friendly and helpful from when I ordered to when I left. They even checked on me while I stuffed my face lol. The tacos were great and it came out fast and it was fresh and hot. I had the steak breakfast taco. I will definitely be back!

This is way too overpriced for what it is. Almost $ 3 for one taco? It’s one thing if street tacos are a rarity in this town, but that’s not the case here in Irving. We got there around 2:30 and the lady taking our order asks «is it for here or to go?» we say «for here.» She says «but we close at 3pm. So, to go?» UHHH what? Why give me an option if we didn’t have any? Also, it doesn’t take that long to make tacos AND eat them. I’d be more forgiving if the tacos were amazing, but they were kind of a let down.
Salsa rojo is great, though? One star for that, maybe?

If their breakfast tacos were not so good this place wouldn’t stand a chance in las colinas.
If you don’t speak Spanish, good luck with a difficult order. That is if you can even get your order out. I stood patiently at the counter for about 5 minutes while the cashier literally stood talking to her coworker in Spanish. She then Apologized as if it were not completely intentional to complete her conversation prior to taking my order. After I ordered she then took my card and continued her conversation in Spanish and was incapable of talking and working at the same time. Of course after I sit down did she ask me if I wanted it to go, with verde sauce etc. all questions that had she been paying attention to the customer she would have asked before. The food it’s self is good but if you go, make sure you are relaxed and full of patience because the culture and customer service is below par for this area

The lunch special looked good. I came in for to-​go, service was quick. I ordered the three taco plate and wanted chips and guacamole. I state wanted because I did not receive my guacamole… I was Disappointed as I didn’t discover this till I was back at the house. The tacos were ok. The chicken was a little dry for me. The beef ones tasted good. Overall it was an ok meal, but I was bummed I paid extra for guacamole I never received.

Not bad if you have no other options for breakfast. Staff not always as friendly as you’d hope, limited menu, and food runs out so go early! I say limited because some stuff not available despite being in the menu. Skip the coffee… blech!

The food is good. The employees are nice. But on my visit this morning, I can barely stand in there it is so hot. Apparently the owner wants to cut on bills and keeps air off even though his employees are overheating. I took a picture of the thermostat-​it reads 90 degrees inside. Unbelievable. I won’t support a place that doesn’t take care of it’s own employees.

1^st time we went here — waited in line over 20 minutes while the cashier chitchatted with friends. It was extremely rude. Then when she finally took our order, she told us she could not use a coupon, that the store made itself, because she didn’t know how to. She claimed her manager had to do it. Uhhh, ok.
So we left, and i never wanted to return. But my date did. We went back today (about a week later) and she magically knew exactly how to enter the coupon without her manager.
She made several mistakes on our order and charged us wrong on the bill. This was definitely due to a language barrier. I listened very closely to my date ordering, she made the mistake even after being corrected.
My food finally arrived and it was so nasty. The portions were tiny. The meat was very dry, no flavor, and when i went to pick it up — a bunch of liquid seeped out. That grossed me out so badly that I would not touch it.
Cashier came over and asked if i didnt like the tacos. My date told her I did not. And what does this genius do? Shrugs it off, and walks away after being told we’d need a to-​go box. She didn’t offer any type of replacement for the nasty food. It was very poor customer service. When a customer tells you that the food is awful — the smart thing is to ask why, and offer a replacement. My date had to get up and find me a to-​go box because she didn’t bring one back as requested. I told him I wouldn’t even feed the tacos to my german shepherd. It’s going in the trash.
I was soooooooo hungry. I ended up stopping at taco bell on the way home just down the street and the food was 2 490 820 4982X better. For ¼th the price.
So on top of having two nasty experiences here — I’d like to point out the fact that the owner of
is an idiot.
IS A BUSINESS WEBSITE FOR SOMEONE ELSE. ITS ACTUALLY A SITE FOR TECHNICAL SOLUTIONS. WHY WOULD YOU NAME YOUR RESTAURANT THIS WHEN YOU DONT EVEN OWN
THE WEBSITE??? Thats why its being called Tacos Las Colinas on here. There might be a major legal issue there. I’m contacting the website
to let them know and to lawyer up if need be, it’s not cool that this ghetto ‘restaurant’ is using the website’s name.

I went here for their tacos for lunch today and I was disappointed. I ordered the lunch special 5 tacos: 1 chicken, 2 barbacoa, and 2 ground beef. As I was eating I was trying to figure out what was missing. I realize my tacos didn’t have any tomatoes on it so i asked for pico. After adding the pico something was still missing and it was CHEESE! Lol I didn’t know i had to ask for cheese for tacos! So i ended up eating my seasonless meat with my tortilla chips that I had as a side. Oh and this was my first time here.

Great lunch spot. For 6 bucks, you can get decent tacos with a side (chips or rice and beans) and choose which means you would like. I highly recommend the barbacoa and cochinita pibil over the al pastor. The servers were very quick and extremely nice and the both salsas (red and green) actually had some spice to it. I would love to give their tortas a try next time.

The lunch special is really, really good. For 5.99 you get a pretty large and filling meal. you can mix and or match your proteins. Fajitas, chicken, Al Pastor, Barbacoa, etc, etc.

Wow. Incredible service here. Every single employee is absolutely wonderful, even the ones you don’t interact with. The gentleman I assume to either manage or own the place is awesome. He’s bilingual which is super considerate granted the demographic may vary and language barriers could exist. (May not mean much to you if you don’t speak Spanish but I can feel for those who do.) the food was so good I vacuumed all 5 tacos and lucky for me their super affordable lunch special left me with some chips and salsa to enjoy as I’m clearly not ready to head back into work yet. Lol.

Taco Las Colinas provides a very inexpensive option for a tasty lunch. Unlike someone mentioned, the cashier lady does speak nice English and is very friendly and so is the owner gentleman. The place is small and clean with about 5 tables and a mural of Las Colinas on its wall. I haven’t tried the tacos yet but some of the items I got were fine. The bean and cheese burrito was huge and filling, chips and salsa were good, guacamole was fine but little small, the rice tasted alright. The salsa and guacamole were little salty, other than that everything else was fine. I will be back to try the tacos sometime soon.

Very tasty tacos. Tried both al pastor and pollo fajita. Would recommend both, especially al pastor. The red sauce is good and spicy.
The proprietor is very kind and cut a fresh lime for me. Not busy on a Friday night, but deserves to be; these tacos are good, flavorful, fresh, and not greasy at all.
(Note — tortillas are not made on-​site so it can’t truly be ⁵⁄₅. But I will definitely give a 4.5.)

Wish I read all the tips for the lunch special. Lol
Ordered a torta carnitas. Wasn’t in the mood for a sandwich. But it looked appetizing and quite a nice size. I was only able to eat half for my small appetite.
The carnitas was tender and juicy. Nice flavor, maybe underseasoned just a teeny bit. Ended up sprinkling a bit of salt on my meat. The torta bread was fresh and fluffy. It was sandwiched with bean spread, lettuce, onions, jalapenos and mayo. Constantly sauced it with the Verde salsa to give it a little more yums.
I think they could turn this into something really special, but it tasted like any other sandwich.
Service was good. No complaints. She asked if we had any questions and then took our orders.
Saw another guest order nachos. That looked a very good size. I may come back just to try that.

Tip #1: 5 street tacos + refried beans + rice is not on the board, but it is on the menu and worth getting.
Tip #2: Admit defeat up front and look at it as a 2 – 3 meal pack.
The barbacoa and pork tacos were delish and I will be back.

Their website is not up yet, so i called ahead of time and the lady over the phone was really nice. She told me everything that was on the menu and I was able to place an order with her after! Very nice staff.
