Amazing food ! Chole bature, pav bhaji and masala lassi are my personal favorites ! My husband likes their Samosa chat too ! The only problem is they don’t accept credit cards ! :(

Great Vegetarian Options with some delicious Indo-Chinese entrees. The food was very similar to «street» food found in India & Pakistan. I ordered the Manchurian Cauliflower entrée which was an Indo-chinese dish of fried cauliflower cooked in a thick spicy/tangy sauce. The dish comes with rice, however, I chose to order a side of puri not realizing that flavored naan was available. The service wasn’t the greatest, and the server didn’t really understand my questions. I dont really blame him. The place was packed! Plan to wait if you are there on a weekend. I was also disappointed that there was no masala chai! How can you not have masala chai?! I will def. be going back to try some of the other vegetarian options.

Amazing Samosa Pav and chaat items. The food was great almost close the taste we get in Mumbai. I would recommend this 100%.

If you are from Mumbai, You know CHAAT like No Bodys Business, And Dimple Bombaytalk delivery on the Bombay name. A must visit place if you are looking for that typical«Mumbai Khauu Galli» experience. Vada Pav Samosa Chaat Grilled Sandwich Bhel Puri Sev Batata Puri Masala Chai Honestly I am not sure of the other items because I have never ventured always from the above mentioned and they always deliver. My BIGGEST complain of this place, Tea is ONLYTOGO, I understand that some people hog the tables for hours with $ 2 tea, but if I am ordering Food along with it WHYNOT. Not that they don’t server but you have to really bargain with the servers.

They only get a 3 because the food is good. Service is mediocre at best. Been coming to is place for years, to an establishment that only accepts cash. All of a sudden now tagging on tax to the total? Shady? I think so. Wonder how much is getting stashed into the mattresses in the name of tax!

Simply sucks! I came 4 times and every time food was messed up and the waiters just stand near by and stare!

Sure, the food is good. There is no criticism about that. But the customer service makes you want to leave. They are dismissive and rude. The menu can seem like a guide not a definite article. If you order something on there that’s not actually available, the wait staff acts like you should have known. Hopefully they can get their act together.

We went to Edison last night for some Indian food. As Punjabis, we had a craving for Choley Bhature. This place did not disappoint! We ordered the Choley bhature and both items were cooked very well, also served with onions and chutney. Perfect! The Frankie was also a really well made treat. The Hakka noodles were tasty but the Veg Manchurian curry was nothing special, the pakoras were average. We also enjoyed the Masala Dosa, the sambhar was too spicy for us but the coconut chutney was delicious. Beware, the servers are not the most attentive, the water jug on our table was empty and we had to repeatedly request drinks before they came. Overall, the long queue to get into Dimple’s attests to it’s reputation for delicious Bombay inspired dishes and street food.

On a recent visit to Edison, New Jersey a family member suggested we try this place for its authentic chaat. Man oh man where they right, this place was great. Nestled on Oak Tree Blvd in the middle of what seems to be «little india» you will find this gem. It’s busy, loud and crowded, but the food was well worth the wait.

I have been going to Dimple for over 10 years. For the first time today I had an appalling issue with a waiter. We sat down in the middle of a lunch rush and ordered tea to start. The waiter, Baldash, told me that they don’t serve tea because its a busy sunday. I shrugged of his idiotic excuse and ordered food. My husband looked over at the table next to us and saw that they had received 3CUPSOFTEA! So he got up and asked Baldash to make us tea. Baldash’s response was, «we don’t want people to sit for two hours and that the other table was getting up.» My husband insisted so he made a cup of tea for me, which took him .3 seconds to make. He slammed it on the table and blatantly ignored us for the rest of the lunch. He never came back to say anything or even to silently bus the table. The attitude we got from this waiter for ludicrous. Somebody else had to come bus our table 20 minutes later. I love the food here and it is always delicious and authentic, however the poor service and lack of care has made me reconsider coming back. It is the mark of a place that has gotten so popular; they no longer care about their customers, old or new.

We(me, wife & kids) are all fan of the food of this place… though they could use a bit more tables & chairs. The food is extremely delicious. Went to sister restaurant Bombay Talk, did not enjoy one bit. But the chef here must have magic in his/her hand. Customer service is ok. Don’t expect royal treatment… yes you are spending money here, not doing any favors(that’s how they view you as). All and all we only like this place. Desi Galaxy is next in order. Enjoy

Pathetic food. Great customer service. Pathetic food! We ordered the 1. Paneer Kathi Roll(was good but super small in size for 6.25 $) 2. Aloo Tikki Chat(was pathetic and some weird gravy and super spicy.6 $) 3. Veg Manchurian(unbelievably spicy…9.25 $) 4. Chilly Paneer in Gravy with Rice(tooooooooooooo spicy…9.25 $) I have been born n brought up on Indian food and can very well take the spice but the food here burns your tongue. So after a few mammoth attempts to swallow the food we called the waiter and sent back Veg Manchurian and Chilly Paneer as being inedible… The waiter obliged and immediately asked if we wanted to cancel the order or wanted it to be remade. Common sense did not prevail and we thought to give the resto another shot and asked them to remake it. I don’t know if this was pure vendetta or something… but this time these two dishes came out with a thousand spoons of sugar in them… It was almost like having a dessert. hahahahah… the food was technically wrong at so many levels… the gravy was all water and some artificial red colouring… Paneer was concrete. Crowded smelly small dingy noisy place. Wasted a lot of money and time. Insanely expensive place for the quantity and quality of food they serve. By far the worst Indian food I ever had in NJ. NEVEREVERAGAIN.

I used to go here frequently as the food started off strong, in the days these used to be a mile long line of people waiting to get in but they have withered and also a lot of competition has come in, far worse these guys have dropped their quality of food. Its kinds of the lower end of taste and quality and rightly the crowds have vanished. Now you can walk in and get a table at any time, their specalities are the chaats. They has also have a couple of sister concerns like Kasyath and Bombay talk and Kasyath is definitly better for the same kind of food. I have stopped going here since the quality drop.

I have been to this place once and have only had one dish, but just from that one dish — I am completely sold! I really enjoyed their samosa chaat. It was the perfect blend of sweet, sour, and spicy. The samosa edges were nice and crispy, and the chopped onions provided a nice crunch. Really great texture overall. Nice portion size, for a reasonable price. The inside setting of the restaurant was not spectacular, old-diner style, but it turned around and into Diane Sawyer lighting once I had that first bite of my samosa chaat.

I have been coming here for years and IMHO they serve the best chaat probably in the US. I recommend the Dhai Puri, Pav Bhaji, Surthi Kachori Chaat and you HAVE to get a dry fruit falooda. They also have a place in Bombay which I have visited.

Went to Dimple on Sat with my elder bro and his friends. Each one of us ordered diff dish and shake. Only two dishes and two shakes were of the real worth. I ordered Onion Cheese Uttampam which was the worst and the costliest dish there. For 10 bucks it was a horror. No taste, cheese god knows what kind it was, sambar sucked big time. For 10 bucks I expect a decent dosa/uttapa. We ordered Walnut, Dry fruit milk shake, crappy. The positive delicacies were Chole Bhutare(bhutara was legit), pav bhaji was quite decent. The thandai and chikoo milk shake were quite good. ordered two chat items which were good. Overall not really great some dishes were worth, but PLZPLZPLZAVOIDTHEONIONCHEESEUTTAPPAM.

Dimple is an Indian restaurant serving the Indian community on Oak Tree Road, the heart of Little India in New Jersey. The focus is primarily on Indian fast food and South Indian dishes. And all are vegetarian. Essentially its snack food for Indians, things they would eat on the streets of Bombay(I prefer British name Bombay to the correct, traditional name Mumbai). I hadn’t been to Oak Tree road for years, until a few weeks ago when I got the craving to eat bhel puri and some other Indian junk food. Feeling like I hadn’t completely satisfied my cravings completely(I typically have to give in to my cravings and why not? They can be so much fun) so went back this weekend. I really wanted a frankie which I remember eating many times in Bombay during my teenage years. The spicy, vinegary, eggy, fried wrap stuffed with chicken or some other meat… so damn good! We chose Dimple because it advertised that it served frankies. It would be vege rather then my preferred meat frankie, but what the heck — you take what you get. So with much anticipation I ordered a frankie. What arrived was not like any frankie I had ever eaten. I took a bite, no distinct vinegary taste. No egginess. WTF? What was this thing? I took another bite, and another. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t a frankie. I also orderd the chana bhatura because I wanted to eat the massive fried bhatura(puri). It looked like a fun thing to eat. And so over-indulgent. I actually enjoyed it. Nice and spicy, good flavor though my wife didn’t think too much of it. She ordered ragda patties, which wasn’t very good. The place was packed with Indians, young & old, snacking while out shopping. Shopping has to be a national pastime in India. We had to wait about ten minutes for a table, but the tables are turned pretty quickly. There is no atmosphere to speak of, just a bunch of tables and chairs. Its all about the food. Decent and cheap. The dosas looked good, but we didn’t try any. Overall, decent & cheap. Worth going to satisfy a craving, just not for a frankie. My quest for a frankie continues…

My husband and I love this place. Whenever we are the area we definitely stop by from some tasty food for lunch or an afternoon snack. What we order: Dahi Potato Puri(They give you 8 of them) Onion Uthhapam or Sada Rava Dosa(pretty big) Chole Batura(it comes with two VERYLARGE baturas) Salty or Mango Lassi Sprite — I know doesn’t fit with the rest, but still good Servce — no frills, they have waiter service — if you don’t speak Hindi don’t fret just point out the stuff you want on the menu and if you don’t want it spicy just say«no chili» and they will oblige. You pay at the counter when you are finished. We always over order, but never regret it when we are devouring all the food in front of us. However, after we stop eating we realize we were too full and may not fit out the door so cautiously we get up, pay at the counter, move towards the door, and exit sideways :-)

This is one of the best South Indian places I have ever eaten at in my life. Its definitely a place I visit once a month. On a street with so much to offer food wise in Edison, this place definitely is a destination worthy of an hour long drive one way to visit. I am a BIGBIG fan of their chaats, the samoosa chat is excellent and so is the sev puri. Then there is their excellent pav bhaji, which I the meatatarian loves tremendously even though its a pure vegetable dish. Finally, no trip to Dimple is complete without their Dosas(crispy flatbread stuffed with potatoes) and their excellent mango lassi. I personally recommend the Mysore Masala Dosa, warning: it is on the spicier side versus other Masala Dosas. So take the time to go out there and experience this amazing place… you won’t be sorry!
