Ocean House

A hidden gem hideaway = perfection. My husband and I had a lovely stay and would recommend to our family & closest friends. We will defintely return. It’s quiet, relaxing, simple yet elegant rooms. Wonderful private terraces and an easy walk to the beach with the most gorgeous sunrises. The service and staff couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful — from the moment you drive on property you feel like a part of the family, and are welcomed with open arms. Very romantic, intimate, and really quite special.

To call Ocean House a tropical Paradise does not begin to describe how nice this place really is. From the moment you arrive (greeted in the parking lot-​immediately offered a glass of wine).to the moment you leave. you sense you are in a special place where all the employees become your friends. we recently stayed for six nights at the downstairs Ocean dawn Suite.(4 rooms downstairs/​four upstairs). Suite was modern and very nice. very comfortable. The grounds here are what separates Ocean House from the rest. Lushly landscaped. you’d swear you were on your own private little island. the swimming pool/​cabana area is incredibly relaxing. they have their own private beach. beautiful view etc. see their website. all the pictures are legit. don’t want to sound like a shill for ocean House but it is that good. Tom and Todd are the best… they will bring you lunch from a nearby restaurant… mix a drink for you… anything you want… they are there. All of this comes at a price… if you want to splurge on your next vacation. this would be the place. Nitpick: their daily continental breakfast delivered to anywhere on premise that you like. does get boring after a few days. if you want a romantic… away from it all. wonderful respite away from the real world for a few days… you will not find a better escape than this.

The most relaxing place in the keys. The staff is incredible and will do anything to make your stay perfect (including going to your room to make drinks for you). It is a small, intimate, and romantic place. Highly recommend to anyone looking to relax and be pampered!

Beautiful, Private, Peaceful, Romantic, Perfect!

Ocean House is truly one of the most peaceful «resorts» you can find. The customer service is stellar. Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted in the parking lot. Our bags were quickly taken to our room while we were given a glass of wine during check in. The Key Lime room was lovely and spacious. You have a full sized refrigerator and a microwave, super soft queen size bed and a larger-​than-​average walk in, tiled shower. The patio is semi-​private meaning there is a sheet between you and your neighbors and people walking by can see you, but it has a really pretty view of the garden. I am a light sleeper and was excited to hear that the property was undergoing renovation to remedy the overhead noise for the lower level guests. I was however disappointed when I could hear all footsteps, TV and voices while trying to fall asleep or stay asleep. The pool area is really nice and we took full advantage of the secluded hot tub on a daily basis! We also rode the complimentary bicycles to breakfast one morning and would have loved to take the kayaks out but unfortunately the weather was not cooperating. I was REALLY disappointed that the fire pit was broken as my boyfriend and I were so looking forward to sitting by it and there didn’t seem to be a big sense of urgency to fix it. Having breakfast delivered to you anywhere on the property is a fantastic touch. I agree with some of the other reviewers that it’s a little/​lot high on the sugar side: Fruit, sweetened yogurt, pastry, orange juice. Maybe plain oatmeal with nuts and dried fruit could be an option… At least the pastries were very fresh and tasty :) All in all, this is a beautiful property with excellent customer service. I would stay here again on the upper level.

We just got married here in September 2012. This place is AMAZING. There are only 8 rooms which makes it perfect for a small wedding party to stay on site. They have a great pool, stellar service, comfortable rooms with a deck for each one, beautiful garden and pond with big crabs hanging out, a beach area that was perfect for our ceremony. There is a fire pit too if you go during the cooler months.
They provide, free of charge, bikes to take around town, snorkel gear and a paddle board for cruising around the ocean. We definitely plan to go back, hopefully every year, to relive the awesomness.
