This was a good place. Found it to be better then the other ones. Said that they want to build apt/condo on this, would rather see these restaurants come back. Choices in island park are slim. Loved their Sunday all you can eat Buffet brunches. It was the last if it’s kind on the island.

How sad to learn Paddy McGees couldn’t reopen after Hurricane Sandy. What a loss to the community. Been going here since I was young — can’t believe it is no more.

Um, not sure what the big deal is here — I went tonight and the place seems to be an abandoned wreck. It’s as if some kind of storm — superstorm even — has hit it and nobody bothered to repair it. I mean, everything is water damaged and there was some sign out front saying«do not enter: building structurally unsound» — now what kind of way is that to attract new customers? Also there was nobody here. Like nobody. I tried to get a seat, but they were all scattered around the parking lot. On a positive note, there was a nice water view from the ripped open dining room — but I don’t think I’ll be back. PS — you might want to get the toilet out of the entrance! Just saying!

Tuesday before the 4th of July my bestest friend and I decided to do a beach day. After a few hours in the sun we were obviously quite hungry and in need of an adult beverage or two. The one thing I dislike about Long Beach is that there are no longer any bars ON the water. Enter Paddy McGees. Paddy’s is a less than 10 minute drive from Long Beach, so as long as you have a car getting there shouldn’t pose a problem. This place apparently has a reputation for attracting guidos, but luckily for us the guidos weren’t out and about yet. I found Paddy’s to be actually quite delightful. We sat outside right on the water and enjoyed the cool breeze. I found the menu to have many options ranging from seafood(obviously), chicken, beef and pasta. My friend and I shared steamed clams in a beer broth — we thought they’d be Prince Edward clams but ended up being those large ones that I’m not really a fan of(they end up having a thingy that looks quite phallic poke out when cooked which really turns me off to eating them!). For an entrée I had the lobster bisque which was really creamy but could have used a few more pieces of lobster and the rare sesame seared tuna. I’ve had better tuna, but it was good and I would order it again. I ordered the Paddy’s Special or something as a drink and it was good. light and fruity. So I’ve concluded that as long as you don’t come here on a Saturday or Sunday you will probably have a positive dining experience!

Paddy’s continues to be a Jekyll & Hyde sort of place like I mentioned nearly two years ago in my first review. If you’ve never been there, head outside on a Saturday night, then dine inside on a Sunday afternoon — you’ll see what I mean. While I enjoy the restaurant, the staff, and the outdoor space, most of my visits are to the restaurant for proper seafood fare. Our most recent visit here was on Father’s Day, and although all my other visits have been nothing short of spectacular, they made some changes to the logistics of their Sunday brunch that irked me(and several other customers) quite a bit. For the holiday brunch buffets, they tend to only offer specific seating times in two-hour increments. Combine that with the new seating area they just set up, and you’ve got an utter NIGHTMARE trying to get anything on your plate in the buffet area. Heck, if I wanted a mosh pit of people like that, I’d have come on Saturday night! To add insult to injury, one of the hostesses, Alejandra, was rude and unapologetic when I commented negatively about standing and waiting nearly 25 minutes for a pass at the food. Her only feedback was«well, we warned you about this when you called in for the reservation.» Well, I respectfully disagree. While they did communicate the seating times quite clearly, they failed to mention that they’d be seating nearly 300 people during each time. Furthermore, they said nothing about standing around for a half-hour to get a plate of food, like I’m at a soup kitchen or something. I’m pretty sure that fire codes are being pushed, if not completely shattered by the sheer amount of bodies in there while we were dining. One of the managers made their way to the tables, checking up on meals. I commented on the above to her also, but was given more of an explanation, with some sincerity thrown in their too. Certainly, the«Seating times» strategy makes the most money for the house, but they could probably do incremental seating time based on the different sections. With a plan like that, they could offer reservations every 20 – 30 minutes, staggering the amount of people by the food at any given time… just a thought. With all that being said, will I come back again? Absolutely. While I know they’re looking to make money, doing so at the expense of disgruntled customers is never a good strategy. I hope Paddy’s continues to experiment during their«busy times» with seating/logistical strategies that are both profitable for them and pleasant for us.

Had dinner here last night. We were a party of 8. The service was appalling. The waitress took 30 minutes after we were seated to take our order. Some of us ordered the pre fixe menu. The broiled sea food patter was tasteless. My sons burger came without cheese, was sent back and brought back 5 minutes late soggy and lukewarm. There was no option for a vegetarian except plain pasta in a tomato sauce Ugh! In this day and age a restaurant which says they have only steamed julienne vegetables is unforgivable. After the meal, when I went to complain to the manager, he said” Yes, we had 2 girls call in sick” Since when does a restaurants staffing become a customer problem? Dont go there unless you go to the deck for drinks.

We were highly recommended to dine here while near the area. While we were delighted by the atmosphere at paddy’s, we were not happy with our service. We waited for almost 20 minutes before we even gave our drink order. I understand now that the waitress was«training». We ate there stuffed shrimp which was lacking much flavor unfortunately. Of course, we had to wait for OVER20 minutes after we were given the check just for someone to take my money!!! Less than average place.

This place drives me crazy — but I’ve learned from my mistakes and this is how you handle paddys: 1. do NOT go here on a saturday night unless you like meatheads and skanks 2. DO go here for dinner when its nice out, and you want to show your date what its like having fresh f*cking seafood on the cheap, whilst sitting on the canal 3. Stay AWAY from the canal when it smells funky, you’ll be overwhelmed 4. take a cab or train it here on Sundays for their beer specials. Don’t be an idiot and drunk drive in my town or I’ll sic the locals on you(the trains down the street, a taxi from here to the west end of LB is 20 bucks for 2 peeps, and if you know the cab drivers they dont care if you open bottle booze in their ride) 5. Take advantage of their happy hours, they’re nice and they get you hammmmmmered 6. Early dinners or late lunches here are great. Its cheap and easy(like most oceanside girls — BOOM) 7. Decent date spot if you don’t want your hunny to shell out big bucks but still want a nice meal I’ve been here a bunch of times — only once on a saturday night. I just don’t like that crowd, but on Sundays after beaching it with my homies, I can just brush the sand off my toes and cab it down to Paddys for a change of place from my local joints. And sometimes in the winter we’ll hop off a stop early and enjoy the twofers and deals on their food; we’ve kicked many a keg here. Sometimes the wait staff isn’t the best, but if you get a seasoned local as your waitress youre money, and the bartenders are always nice. They like having someone other then the gin soaked creep to converse with — unless you’re a gin soaked creep.

I love their outdoor deck and wouldn’t mind coming here often — however, I’ve only been here during weekday afternoons when it’s fairly quiet and you can get service. I can see this place getting really crowded with Long Island morons and meatheads later on in the evening, and that scares me.

Pay extra to sit on the water overlooking a canal which directly behind that is some industrial looking buildings. Sooo the view actually sucks. Food wasn’t much better.

FIRSTIMPRESSION: Juicehead/Meathead central. Lots of Italian people who probably dont speak a lick of Italian. Lots of trashy chicks with leather faces from the tanning and smoking like trains while dancing in their patforms and cut-off shorts. There were a few other«types» of people there(including me) it was a new experience to say the least. The BAD: When i went there, there was only one bathroom stall working for ALL of the women there. It pained me to see the men go in and out freely to their bathroom. They had three working stalls. Also, the drinks were mad expensive. Get wasted before you go in, pre-game all the way. It got really crowded by 11, we got there at 8.(it was a Sunday otherwise we would have showed up at 11 too) The GOOD: The Dj was the best ever. He played all the best house and radio music but not the originals, he played the dance remixes and it was awesome. High energy house that made you wanna wild out and battle someone lol. He also played some tribal, samba, bachata and of course your standard party hip-hop with a dance twist. Also this was an outside on the dock, party by the water which made things better… and prettier:) BASICALLYTHEDJMADETHISPLACE… EVERYTHINGELSEWASAVERAGE. I would go back ONLy if this DJ was spinning again:)

What a wonderful place to have lunch or dinner with a beautiful view of the water and boats going by. How many places are around like this that serves the broad variety of seafood prepared any way you like it. Very versatle for a casual lunch or a celebratory weekend dinner. Don’t understand the comment about seating being confusing. You are seated based on availabilty and preference if you have not thought ahead enough to make a reservation. For Jennifer who was dragged there — go somewhere else. Your parents probably paid for it then.

Good clams, thats about it. The place is wack, nothing special. Seating is horrible and really confusing. You have to order brunch inside yada yada yada… the only positive thing is Sunday 5 dollar lobsters. Crowd was tough on the eyes, alot of white people with no class and ugly sluts if you like that scene. All in all would never return.

This is my default lunch or early dinner spot after going to Long Beach(damp sandy trunks and all). Their kitchen is closed between 3pm-5pm — the time I’m usually packing it up on the beach. I usually go with their Famous Wings and Fried Jumbo Shrimp — all you see at the end of the meal is a pile of clean chicken bones and discarded shrimp shells.

Hmm. The soft shell crab is outstanding. As good as it is, I don’t think I will return anytime soon. The fist pumping, blown out hair styling, daddy’s boat driving«patrons» I encountered were more than my extremely tolerant demeanor can handle. Good luck with that and the abysmal parking situation.

Ahh what to say about Paddy’s. On the one hand, if you dock your boat, you can avoid the line on a Friday/Saturday night and go right in. But if you aren’t so lucky, you’ll probably spend most of your night shifting through the crowd from one side to another asking yourself, «Is it possible human beings are really enjoying themselves here.» This place packs people in to the point where it’s uncomfortable. The crowd here also is what might be called typical Long Island/Queens. Lots of Juiceheads, tight t-shirts, fake hair and… you get the idea. Always fun to see though what drugs can do to the human body. If you’re looking for a place to sweat heavily, move from one side to another with no real purpose in mind, and go home with a dirt s. hoe, then this is the place for you. Probably much more relaxing early in the evening or if you go by boat.

I wasn’t going to write this review, but considering this is my second bad experience here, here i go. Seared tuna was awful, i actually had to use my knife which is unheard of. My dad had the stuff clams with steak fries(which were burnt). The service was horrible and we were the only ones there. There is definitely a reason the bar is always crowded, because you’d have to be drunk to enjoy the food.

Paddys has the best honey barbeque wings Ive ever had. In fact they’re just straight up addictive. They also an excellent selection of microbrews and 8– 10 beers on tap on any given day. If your looking for more fancy drinks they have custom cocktails for the ladies. Get there early because they have an amazing happy hour on fridays wth free food! Sundays are a mad house so be prepared to get a little crazy. I kid you not, there is no better place to be on a Sunday evening.

Went here twice on Sunday night. What a sh*t show… Ten bucks to get in… Got here around 7pm… Place seems to be good early from 3 – 6 for post beach happy hour but by 9pm it was slammed… Crowd doubled in size from 8−11… Cleared out a little by twelve but was still fairly packed. Drinks are served in the smallest plastic cups i have ever seen. Drinks were fairly pricey but strong as hell. Bartenders are nice and the two different brunettes that served me some patron shots both had pretty mugs along with some nice bombs! Definitely wont find the girl of your dreams(i.e. classy girls/“real carerr woman//trust fund chicks) here but if meeting a school teacher or nanny who can be a better closer than Mariano in the bottom of the ninth than this is your spot… Just be careful, place can be crawling with pigs and getting in out and of this place will take one talented drunk driver. Nice place to go if you live in the five boroughs and get tired with all the city and NJ animals.

I’ve been coming here forever in the summer. The restaurant serves pretty good food, but usually I come for the night life. It’s one of the places in Long Island that has a huge outside deck with two big bars and fake palm trees. On a beautiful summer night this place is great. Friday nights they usually have happy hour and a free buffet which has pretty good food I must say.
