I agree with the previous reviewers regarding selection, layout, etc. It is a beautiful store with an incredible inventory. Really something for every quilter. Issaquah needed a good quilt store and Gossypium more than fills that need However, I have found my shopping experiences there to be less than satisfactory. I work in the area and occasionally drop in for a quick look around and purchase. Not once, even when I have been the only customer in the store, have I ever been greeted, asked if I needed any help, or thanked for coming in. In each case the employee/s have been on their phone, engrossed or too busy chatting with each other. If you want to keep your customers, please get off the phone, look around and acknowledge them.

From the doorway, the store looked *amazing* It was well stocked and beautiful. The sign on the door showed a great sense of humor. However. that was as far as I could get into the store. It’s not ADA compliant, the bottoms of the shelves are ringed with bolts of fabric to the point that I could not get my wheelchair in at all. I could gingerly make it down the first row to the left. and that was it. I couldn’t turn around and had to be pulled backward out of the store. Disappointing for such a beautiful shop.

A friend of mine told me about this store and it is fantastic! So much fabric and a great selection of fresh, modern fabrics. Also found quite a few hard to find lines. Definitely added to my list of go to stores!

Holy Wow Batman, this place has it all. Gossypium has a beautiful. and varied, selection of fabrics. It is a quilter’s paradise and there are so many beautiful fabrics you could almost go into overload and melt down. Almost. The atmosphere is friendly, if a little disorganized(but aren’t all independent fabric shops? And with that huge inventory wouldn’t you be?). There were plenty of signs along the main street, but this place is definitely worth a trip if you are interested in sewing or quilting!!!

A big THANKYOU to fellow Unilocalers who shared their experience here! I’m getting into sewing and quilting and thought I’d try to find somewhere local to pick up fabric for a class. A quick Unilocal search turned up Gossypium. I’m all for supporting local businesses(as long as it doesn’t bankrupt me — big box stores get by fine without my business), so I thought that I would come here to get what I needed. First of all, they have TONS of amazing fabrics! They also have a lot of patterns too. We met the owner and her husband as well as another employee(I think her name was Deb) who were awesome helping me pick the fabrics I needed for my project and getting me on my way. They were also very nice to us and understanding of my normally very mellow infant son, who, for some unknown reason decided today was the day to do some really loud squealing as I was shopping. The prices here are very comparable to what I’ve found at Joanne and Pacific Fabrics, and the service compared to those two stores is WAY better. I am so glad that I found this place(once again, thanks fellow Unilocalers!). I will definitely be back for more materials as I get more into sewing. They also offer a lot of classes. Most of them seemed to be on the weekdays, which doesn’t work so great for me, but they do have some good weekend options as well as a lot of «great for beginners» classes. I’m planning on signing up for a few once I can work it out into my schedule. Also, they have samples of the projects they teach in class, so if you’re unsure about the finished product stop by and check out the examples before you sign up.

Love this place, love the people, and SO happy to have a quilt shop in Issaquah again. I come from the North Bend area so this is a very accessible location for me. This shop exceeded my expectation from the first time I visited. It is open, neat, and has a huge selection of fabric. There is a smaller classroom and I haven’t had a chance to take classes yet, but I hope to see some expansion in that space in their future. I do know their class coordinator Mo as she is the first person I ever took a quilting class from several years ago. The service is wonderful and in my opinion the prices are competitive. The fabric is nice quality. Being in Gilman, I was worried the prices would be high, but they are absolutely competitive with the other shops in the surrounding areas in my experience. I have already been there several times since they opened. Glad to have Gossypium in the local quilting community. (PS. I agree with the bigger sign comment. I am guessing there are restrictions with Gilman Village, but it would be nice to have something much larger and«quilt store obvious» :) to help draw people off Front Street. You guys are doing great!

I’m as thrilled as can be to have this new addition to Gilman Village! We’ve been sorely in need of a go-to quilt shop in Issaquah. Don’t get me wrong, the two in Bellevue are fab as well and I love them both, but believe me when I say you need to stop in at Gossypium. The shop itself is in a fantastic building. In fact, everytime I’ve driven past this particular property, I’ve said to myself«Self, a quilt shop would be perfect here!» and then proceeded to daydream about what it would be like. Gossypium just opened it’s doors less than a month ago, so the inventory is still being brought in daily. The fabrics consist of the latest and greatest designers and lines. The store is clean and nicely decorated. There is plenty of room to peruse the samples, bolts, books, bundles, batting and the brand spanking new longarm machine! There is a classroom that will soon be bursting with quilters. In fact, the brochure I picked up already has a zillion classes lined up including one to learn to use that beautiful longarm! After you’re certified, you can rent it out by the hour! If you are new to sewing/quilting, have no fear. There is a class lined up for you too! This shop has many good restaurants, a coffee shop, gift shopping and much more in the immediate vicinity. I see big things on the horizon for Gossypium and can’t wait to be a part of it!
