Betel Mexican Restaurant and Parrilla

Quality has fallen.

I ate lunch today at Betel and I was not impressed. The place was almost empty, with customers only at two other tables. This was my first visit to Betel and I should have taken the lack of customers as a sign of problems to come.
I ordered the chicken flautas meal, which includes rice, refried beans, 3 flautas, sour cream, guacamole and a tomato slice.
The rice was not good. The texture was a mix of chewy and dried out rice. Also, I didn’t care for the seasoning on the rice. It was very salty, with a strong chicken bullion like flavor.
The flautas were severed hot but the flavor was average. They were similar to the processed chicken flautas that you might buy in the frozen food aisle at a grocery store.
And on the final note, if you are in a hurry this might not be the place to eat lunch. The kitchen took almost 30 minutes to prepare my meal.
