The leg of lamb here is awsome and tasty. Good service. The rice was good.

Generally speaking, the food here is good. They serve Afghan style bread, which tastes great with soup. The kebabs are delicious as well, the meat is fresh and well seasoned. I’m not a fan of their rice though since it has a clove flavor that is too strong for me. The price here is high, especially compared to other kebab places in this area.

The inside of this place is very nice and clean. The bathroom is also clean which is a big plus for me. I’m all about restaurants having a nice atmosphere and this def has a nice ambiance. The food is great, I order the same thing everytime I go. Chapli kabob and tandoori shrimp with kabuli rice is what I crave all the time. Yumm. I need to start trying other stuff while I’m there. The staff is curteous, especially the female hostess. She always recommends the best dishes and is always very pleasant. Overall I would recommend this restaurant.

Food is always good. But currently sitting in the place for almost 25 minutes, no salad, no food yet. And two waiters are playing cards. I guess manager or owners are not around.

Total rip off! And food doesn’t even taste great… I added a picture to show people what they give for $ 19(tax and tip included) I usually don’t like to leave negative feedbacks but this place is a complete rip off…

I’ve been here twice. The first time was lamb kabobs. The second was lamb kara-e, because apparently Afghans love lamb. I can accept that. I love lamb too. I’m not an Afghan but I guess I could be. Things I love about this place: –It’s Afghan. –Afghans like good food. –e.g. lamb. –Taaasty dipping juice for the tasty bread. –Service to match the taste. I don’t know much about how this food is supposed to taste; all I care about is that it tastes Good. It did. I’m gonna go out on a limb here(not so much even) and say that you will satisfy your desire for Afghan food at this place. Not much more can be said. It Is good. That is all I ask for.

We loved the rice, the chicken kebab, and the sizzling ground beef platter. It was all really good – I particularly liked the spices in the ground beef and there is a really tasty white sauce on the table that makes everything taste better. It is a little bit expensive considering the size of the portions and the neighborhood, but not shockingly so. Our only disappointment was when asking for our leftovers to go, they forgot to give us all the items we wanted wrapped up.

Too spicy to be authentic«Afghan«. Lamb was rotten, I sent it back to the kitchen. Service is very slow. Too expensive for portions, $ 15 per dish. Rice had a strange taste to it. Not a good experience at all.

Their kebabs are amazing! As the name would suggest… The rice has some weird seasoning that didn’t work well with it. It was also on the chicken, and on that it tasted amazing.

For the number of times I’ve been here I’m ashamed to say I do not know the names of the staff. Well I’m sure everyone knows who I’m talking about when I mention the bald man. He’s really the only one of importance. As I’ve been here numerous times I’ll mention my most recent visit which happened to be my birthday. I decided to drop by on my birthday after I had taken my LSAT exam. I’m a creature of habit and always goes back to the same dishes. I always get the capli kebab for the appetizer. That stuff is soooooooooo guuuuuuuuud. It comes yo you sizzling with all kinds of peppers and onions. It’s heaven. The green herb condiment they have is to did for. It’s so delicious and packed with flavor. The white sauce is divine with all the herbs inside it. Every time I go I go crazy with those two condiments. Being it was my birthday I asked the waiter(not the bald man) if they did anything for customers on their birthday. He said no and I was upset but didn’t push it. That day I had received the chapli kebab and the combo kebab. Combo consists of grilled chicken, lamb and goat. For some reason every time I get the lamb it is tough :/Guess the lamb isn’t for me. Which is a pity since I love lamb. After devouring my dish the bald man comes to me with the check. I ask for a change of 20. He says sure asking me to wait. I’m there waiting and soon enough both waiters come to me with a piece of cake saying happy birthday. I was so shocked and blown away. These men who barely know me brought me a cake. Needless to say this place is marvelous. The staff is impeccable *coughs* bald man specifically. If you come here you’re in for a treat. If you’re a regular. You’re already family: D

I live in Sunnyside and work in 7th Ave Manhattan, my co-workers and I love to have a ride over to Queens, Jackson Heights for the smörgåsbord of ethnicities represented in the restaurants. That’s when I first discovered Afghan Kebab– and the fact that it is still going strong today is a testament to just how good it is. The food is truly outstanding — the meat is fresh and deliciously spiced; very flavorful, occasionally with a kick. My favorite is the kofta; comes with a delicious, surprisingly afghani brown rice and salad with an addictive dressing that’s supposed to be for the salad but works for the meat as well. I’ve had other entrees, but always come back to the kofta. If you are a vegetarian, no worries — they have tons of vegetarian options. Be sure to save room for an appetizer — the bolanees are wonderful; they’re fried turnovers, yet are never heavy or greasy. They can be made with or without meat; sometimes they have them with spinach, which is out of this world. Comes with a yogurt sauce that compliments the turnover extremely well. I’ll also say that the service staffs who serve everyone — they take the ownership to make everyone smile — as a diner it is extremely nice; remembers faces well, even if not names. It’s a small, hole in the wall, and yet I never feel like they rushe us out, even during busier times. I highly recommend this of all the Afghan restaurants in NYC.

After long day of shopping, we were starving and so this place so went cause we as family love kebabs. Lets get right to it, ordered mango lassi, It tasted like canned mango concentrate mixed with water and barely any yogurt. It had horrible after taste. Yuck. Unfortunately we order 4 of those. So the food, sister had chappli kebabs, which were came in sizzling platter and the only 2 chapplis that came were burned black on one side. It tasted exactly what it was Burned. I had Lamb tikka, I think I broke a several teeth trying to chew this, it may have taken me 15 minutes a small piece to chew and chew to be able to swallow this flavorless chewy meat. the rice was overdosed with cinnamon and mix of some leaves maybe oregano? I really thought this does not count as «spice». My brother had the chicken tandoori half leg but they gave cut pieces said u have to ask specifically for it to be on bone. Anywayz his chicken was bland little pieces but hey he dont need to chew for hours like me. My cousin had managers special chicken, which our waitress Afnan recommendation. The only thing on table that was edible. So yes we stole his food. Now that the food was here and me having chewed so much had to wash it down so the yucky lassi finished. Because my glass for water had stain on it. Service: Our waitress took order and recommended the only edible dish then we never saw her again. This is small crammed little restaurant. So there were the manager or head waiter walking and standing right by our table completely ignoring us. He went to table in front asked how is your food? then table behind us asked. But he ignored us completely, after trying to make eye contact for long time i got feed up and said loudly«We need the bill here» finally to get our bill ! The guy who is bald and I believe who name Sai didnt bother coming. Another guy in shirt and tie came finally get bill only to see 18% gratuity added already. When there is party of 5 or more automatically they add we were group of 4 and baby whose only 2 yrs old. We question this and immediately mister tie and shirt offers to remove it. Then finally since he is here we tell him the chappli was burned black? He goes you should have said it first. We tried to flag someone down and we were so hungry, but mister bald head ignored us and was busy sucking up to other Caucasian customers. Yes, I felt its cause we are Indian. We are not worth their time. Well dont worry we wont ever step foot in there again, the halal cart outside this place may have been better food and more friendly service.

Very very few veg options but they are good. And the green sauce is just too good. Pricey pricey for appetizer sizes but then it’s not an easy business. I like it. Recommend it.

Best food and service in Jackson Heights! I am a native NY’er and foodie, so I know quality meals when I taste or experience it. The Sizzling Seafood mix is so fresh and full of amazing flavors. Customer service is great too. If out & about in Jackson heights, a must try. Highly recommend!

Very disappointed for their food today. I ordered the T bone stick to take at home, I was very excited to eat after my long hungry day. I have to say the food was really bad. The rice was not cooked properly and it was not smelling fresh at all. I called to the place to tell them that something wrong to their food today. And he said they will be careful for next time. Okay I just garbage my food and going bed hungry and telling myself that never again spend $ 25 for the dinner box which may I have to garbage and hope may be next time they will be better.

Came with my wife and some neighbors. Ordered the combo kebab specials and they were awesome! Very spicy though, bread and salad comes in handy for someone who cannot tolerate spice for long periods of time. Will definitely recommend this place!

I gave them a try when they reopened under new management and name. We ate there two times and it was fine. Then we decided to order a few orders for a small dinner party of 6 we were having at home. I went in to the store earlier in the day to let the waiter who I placed my order with know that I would like the rice packed separately and all the meat packed separately(family style). He said it would not be a problem. Later in the day we picked up our order at the scheduled time. Of course it was not separated as requested but the worst part was when the kebab wasn’t cooked through all the way. Not a good look for my dinner party and not good for my pregnant guest. The shrimp wasn’t peeled! I almost forgot that part. I was beyond annoyed and disappointed. This was last October and I have not set foot in there again.

Love this place. Been coming here for years. The quality of the food fell off for a short bit in the middle, but they just renovated and with it went back to where they started, great quality food with an amazing authentic taste. I always come with an appetite, so my friends and I(all adult men) go with the House Deluxe Platter, everytime. And yes, thats an order of the platter for each of us! It may be «too much» for most people. But if you’re starving and want a filling, hearty meal, this is the plate to go with! It comes with an assortment of meats on a sizzling plate, including chicken, fish, beef kufta, shrimp and I believe lamb. Mixed with grilled onions and tomatoes… you can’t go wrong with this one folks!
