So the food was good, but I’m giving 2 stars because they did not honor the Unilocal offer. One of the reasons we came here was because they offered a free margarita when you check in. I thought that was a great deal so we came in ordered our food, and showed the waitress both of our check in’s that shows we get a free margarita. She said ok and brought 2 over for us. When our bill came I saw you were charged $ 20 for the margaritas. When we called the waitress over she changed her tune and was like no you can’t get them for free. When we told her that’s not what she said before, she looked at us like we never had that conversation. We just paid the bill and left. Sucks because the food was good, but I can’t deal with service like that.

I’ve been haunting this place for over 6 months after my usual work haunts raised their prices for tacos and tostadas(my favorites). For what it is, I give in 5 starts. I’ve been here at 1pm for lunch as well as 2:30AM. If you go for lunch, it’s the type of place that men will stare at you when you walk in. You might be uncomfortable but get used to it. Waitresses are friendly and it helps if you speak Spanish(if you are wondering, I do). My colleagues(two women) would actually order their food and then wait outside until their food was ready to avoid the stares. I thought it was hilarious. Something to note-if you order ahead, they will NOT make your food until you pay. I’m assuming people have ordered ahead for pick up and then didn’t show up. Kind of sucks but it is what it is. The food is really excellent. I stick to my basic tacos and tostadas. Never had a complaint with my food here. Very authentic tasting. Good sauce. I’ve also tasted my friend’s burrito-stuffed to the max and I even asked if my friend could get a mix of beef and chicken which they did. Great. They serve alcohol which is a plus since a few other Mexican spots I like in the area don’t which is why I end up here at night. Get the Corona Familiar-It’s Corona but 32oz! WOOHOO! I’ll include a picture. On the weekends-not exactly sure of the schedule but they have SPANISHKARAOKE, mostly Mexican songs. But wait… it’s not the diners that sing, apparently a man comes and sings to entertain whatever crowd there is. And he was really good. I even recognized some of the songs. I was pretty impressed. Since it’s on Roosevelt Ave, you also see some interesting characters late night. The shady characters on the avenue picking up clients… that sort of stuff.
