Never got pizza here, but their burgers are delicious, good old fashioned no thrills old school charcoaled burgers. Get them everytime and so good, the service is really good too everytime I go. The guys are nice. This is a pizza place guys, relax. It’s a great joint!

I really don’t know what happened to this place. It has gone steadily downhill over the past few years, the food, the service, and the time it takes to get a damn pizza. I am here right now, and when by God did it become acceptable, both adults and children, to walk around in a «restaurant» in their bare feet??? I will never come back. I am so grossed out right now.

The 2nd best pizza spot in Nyc. I love their chees fries too. Their pizza takes a lil long to make but its completely fresh. They don’t sell pizza slices but personal pies.

Mediocre Pizza. They have a 5.00 special for lunch but even with the small drink, it’s not worth it! The workers are extremely UNPLEASANT!!! They have major attitude. If they don’t like their job, they really should work elsewhere!

Been eating here since I was a kid. We would order take out from the Jackson heights location but ate in at the Elmhurst location. The sauce seems to have changed, along with the dough. Been recently and it tasted like their original pie, not sure if they reverted back. Their bacon pie is must try.

What happened to this place?! I’ve been coming here for over 15 years, and always raved and bragged about this pizza to all the poor souls that never sunk their teeth into what used to be little triangles of heaven. However, for the past year it has been consistently bad. The dough has been soggy and the crust nonexistent. An inadequate amount of sauce topped with cheese that somehow pastes together and isn’t really all that melted. I’ve given them chance after chance, eaten almost every pie on the menu, both for delivery and dine-in, and still bad. Their saving grace is the bacon pizza. Never had anything like it. Whole strips of REAL bacon. Not that bacon bits in a bottle nonsense. Come back to us, Famous Pizza! This hood is SERIOUSLY lacking in the pizza department. Jackson Heights needs you!

Despite all the horrible comments on the slow service, the wait is worth it. The pizza is fresh and the place is very cozy. I suggest ordering ahead of time and getting veggies on your pie.

Disappointed with service and price of one small pie is $ 10 and they won’t even cut your veggies smaller on request. This place used to be good. But then, where else can I find indo Pak in the area.

I’m giving this restaurant two stars because SOMETIMES their chicken parm sub is good. Tonight it was not. Not only was it mushy and cold, but also it arrived 90 minutes after we ordered it(when I ordered I was told 45 mins). When I called after an hour and 20 minutes to see what the issue was, they assured me it would be there within 10 minutes(did not happen) and didn’t handle it very graciously when I called back the final time. They’ve officially lost my business.

Yummy Personal Pan Pizzas, Just Call Ahead Outside of chain restaurants and smaller pizzerias occasionally having a mini personal pan pizza, it is rare to find a restaurant that not only specializes in but, but only servers personal pan pizzas. It is nice to see something other than the traditional slice as the poster boy of a pizzeria, but it has its flaws. The pizza is good, but there are many pizza places that are better. That said you will have a hard time finding one in Jackson Heights(other than one). There are many different combinations to choose from. The ham and pepperoni are my personal favorites, but if you want to go for an all garlic pizza go right ahead. Don’t expect anyone to approach you anytime soon since they put at least a clove of garlic on each slice(of the personal pan pizza). The quality of ingredients are standard. Nothing overly cheap or exceedingly high in quality. The biggest flaw is the wait time. Unless you call ahead you will wait at minimum 10 minutes to receive your pizza. At any other pizzeria it takes less than 2 – 3 minutes for you to order, get the pizza heated, and begin eating. Calling ahead is your best option if you eat in or take-out. The service is inconsistent. Whether it is the lunch rush or dead the individuals working the counter or answering the phone always seem to be in a rush. Getting a straight answer from them at times is like pulling teeth. On other occasions they become exceptionally knowledgeable and recognize your voice from your phone call. Then again I have ordered the ham pizza enough times in the past, plus I’m probably one of the few who orders that. Despite being inconsistent they have never been rude to me or anyone in the restaurant while I have been there. There have been occasions where the customer deserved a good slap across the face, but they never noticeably flinched. Overall: 3 Stars The pizza at Famous Pizza is one of the best you can find in Jackson Heights, which isn’t saying much, but the fact that it is merits the rating it’s receiving. If you are planning on eating in or take-out, I highly recommend calling on the way or before you leave your home to ensure you don’t have to wait 10 – 20 minutes to eat. Inconsistent, but friendly service. The personal pan pizza is a nice concept and is about right for most appetites, but more often than not you will have a little bit leftover. It is a little pricey for the area and for what you receive, but it’s worth a try.

Prices have gone up significantly since 2005. On the pizza side of things, they’ve reduced the taste to their sauce and crust. However, their pizzas are still larger than your average personal pan. The linguine could definitely be better. It’s got some kind of aftertaste. The meatball is a portion and also taste decent.

I decided to try this place again and a third time. My selections were garlic pizza pie and the vegetarian pie. I have to say that the garlic topping was strong and just what my tummy needed. If you do not want garlic breath, then do not get this! I love garlic anything, everything… oh and the vegetarian pie had a long list of things: onions(huge rings of them), olives, peppers, and cheese but not too salty as the last visit. I should tell you that there is a bit of wait maybe 20 minutes, since they have to prepare the pizza. I would definitely come back. Why oh why? do I keep missing the lunch deal! I have yet to try their burger and fries.

The service at this place is awful — we have lived in the area for about 3 months now and are only one block away but for some reason calling in for delivery always seems to take more than 40 minutes, sometimes an hour plus. On top of that, the people that work there are completely rude! They shouldn’t be allowed to treat people the way they do. We’ve decided that after our experience today, it’s not worth giving them our business. We’ve just had enough. There are plenty of really great places in the neighborhood that truly deserve our business and support.

This pizza here is good, but not as good as the original Elmhurst pizza(the one actually located in Elmhurst). The pies are pricey as well. The last pizza I had here was a veggie pizza with hot peppers and the hot peppers were NOT spicy at all! They actually tasted pretty bad and kind of old. The original famous pizza in Elmhurst takes their hot pepper pies much more seriously. The wait time here is wayy too long for freakingg pizza, but at least there was decent seating, with a flat screen TV in the parlor.

Waited half an hour for a chicken cutlet sandwich, not worth the price considering that I asked for certain ingredients to be removed. Couldn’t eat half of the sandwich because the chicken was rubbery. Meh

When it comes to there pizza it’s good to bad the people working there are very rude. Called for an order and the person on the phone clearly doesn’t have any manners when speaking to customers. They should take a crash course on how to take an order and what question to ask because they have no clue. They plainly assume you have a menu in front of you. I would only go for pick up that’s about it they need to train there people better. When your a paying customer they should treat you like one.

Reasons why this pizzeria baffles me: 1) Elmhurst Famous Pizza is located in Jackson Heights. 2) The pizza style is not NY-style, nor is it any other identifiable regional pizza style 3) Pizzas only come in 1 size. This size is too big to be considered«personal,» yet a little too small to share between 2 people. Ordering by the slice is not an option. Pies are made to order, and go into the oven in cast-iron skillets that are way too shallow to be considered deep dish. Still, the crust comes out a bit fried and very crunchy. We shared: 1) Homestyle Pizza– The menu said this was topped with Peppers, Onions, Mushrooms, Sausage, Pepperoni, and«Hamburger.» I didn’t see any hamburger, but it was still a very good combo pizza. It reminded me of frozen pizza… in a comforting way? 2) Indo-Pak Pizza — Interesting to create a Southeast Asian inspired pizza considering the neighborhood, topped with curry, garlic, jalapenos, and onions. Curry & melted mozzarella is great flavor combo, however this pizza was COMPLETELY overpowered with heaps of raw garlic. I had 1 slice of the novelty pizza and tossed the rest… but suffered garlic breath for the rest of the night. I’ve had better. But then again, this place was consistently busy the entire time I was there, so you may like it more than I did. One thing is for sure… avoid the Indo-Pak Pizza!

Called in for delivery* Me: How much is everything? Pizza Guy: I’m gonna have to call you back for that. Me: Okay… *Never calls back.* Pizza is great but the guy that works there is a dick. This ALWAYS happens.

Ever since my wt. loss, I’ve tried my best to stay clear of pizza period, but that is until today. I am not gonna lie, this place was a total accidental find as in need of a bathroom, my party members stopped here, because apparently subway two doors down refused the existence of a bathroom, even after food purchases. THANKYOU to them for letting us walk a few doors down and discover this little gem. This is not your regular pizza joint where one can simply walk in and grab a slice of pizza cooked, god knows when. Pizzas are made to order, so expect a bit of a wait, which in my opinion is worth it knowing you’re getting it out of the oven. The menu caters to all. THEIRINDO-PAK Pizza is what has me excited!!! This is definitely not for the weak at heart, as each bite packs a punch. The pizza is onions, hot peppers, garlic and indian spices. I have no idea as to how one came up with such a combo, but something so unique, it won me over instantaneously. The cheese pizza too is flavorful and appealing. Overall, the pizza is top-notch, as its cooked to near-perfection and the crust is simply delicious as its not soft and/or soggy, but strong and crispy. Overall, this place is great and worth checking out. Besides pizza, their menu should appeal to most as they offer a countless varieties of customized pizzas, burgers, appetizers, as well as grill menu items.
