I write this with a HEAVY heart. Please do your RESEARCH prior to stepping in the door. It all began when I called Monday, Sept 30 for an appointment. I left a message with Tayrin on her cell phone(there is no salon phone). I got a call back from Tay within 5 minutes. Scheduled my appointment Wed. October 2, 11 am. Alicia, «the stylist» with 30 years of experience, was on time. I had a great time talking to Sra. Alicia my first 10 minutes sitting in the chair. We spoke Spanish and English. No problem with the language. She also did an up sell of a full color because she suggested my color was in need(I had previously had a salon do dark color in June) she talked me into re coloring. I was fine with paying the additional $ 40. I should have DECLINED. The next 5 hours were my worst NIGHTMARE… Should have just stuck with the hair cut & style and full highlights $ 60 Groupon. I might have been happy walking out that long day. NOTE: 3 colors(base, highlights and a redo of the highlights because they were orange) 3 sittings on the heat salon dryer, 5 haircuts later, 6 inches shorter, I’m wondering why ALICIA is a licensed expert stylist. PLEASENOTE: at every stylist station they have the following: «NOTICETOCUSTOMERS– Each stylist is an independent licensed sole proprietorship and rents this station. BIOSALON is not responsible or liable for any disputes, refunds or damages between you and your stylist». Must have been up there for a different reason as I’m reading more NEGATIVE experiences about the Bio Salon & Spa(not the owner). Well, now I’m EMBARRASSED to walk out my door, drive anywhere without a scarf, headband or hat. I wish I could post pictures here, but needless to say: my hair is orange, yellow, light brown, brown, with patches of BALD spots and SCABS from the CHEMICALBURNS and OVERHEATING done to my hair on top and back of my head. My dermatologist recommend me to AVOID heat & sun(in Florida?!) and prescribed me some medicines for the itchiness, burning, hot feeling on my scalp. I can’t sleep without my pillow scratching my head. I’m UNCOMFORTABLE. In addition, my hair feels like someone sprayed me with a can of hairspray and feels like hay straw. My hair is RUINED, DRY, and high maintenance. I should have questioned the 3rd color the same day, but I felt a 30 year old experienced cosmetologist such as Alicia knew what she was doing. SHENEEDS to be RETRAINED or have her license taken away. or SUSPENDED or FINED. That NIGHT, I contacted Tay & Alicia. No answer. I called again next day, Tay, was very, very sorry. Booked me in within a ½ hour of talking to her and tried to condition my hair, cut it properly, and suggested to leave alone for awhile — at no charge of course. She apologized and unfortunately she can only do so much to fix my bad experience. According to Tay, I must take my DISPUTE with the stylist Alicia — who refuses to call me back and acknowledge her GRAVEMISTAKES — I’ve had no call backs and Tay has ignored my calls for HELP. I’m now reporting them to the BBB& the state of Florida. Which they track for this kind of business behavior. Its been 11 days: no contact, no return calls, no refund from Bio Salon. I’m still upset. Still applying scalp medicine from the doctor. On October 3, 2013, Ms. Tay has agreed for my full refund(relief!) but why am I still waiting? NOTICE, on October 4, 2013 review Justin J raved about Kelsey who is a stylist but also raved about BS& S. I want to make it clear, its the stylist Alicia, NOT the salon, It is the stylist who is associated with the salon and has a contract with the salon and therefore the salon should take some RESPONSIBILITY. I paid the salon, the receipt shows the salon, and not the stylist. The salon is not refunding my money for a reason. I’ve requested for my refund on Thursday October 3 and today I’m still waiting from both BS& S. Groupon returned my refund within 24hrs of the complaint. I’m using the money used for the cut & highlights to cover some of my medical costs, headbands and scarves. I will be looking at MORE out of pocket EXPENSES due to NEGLIGENCE from Alicia & Bio Salon & Spa. I do not recommend going to the salon or the stylists. POOR customer service, follow up, communication, PROMISES and experience. *UNHAPPY* My hair will grow back… I will have to be PATIENT for a few months.

AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL very unorganized! Made an appointment after purchasing a groupon. Made my appt with a spanish speaking lady and thought I was all set. I thought wrong! Showed up for my 3 appt a few minutes early to be gawked at by 2 other girls in the salon like«why is this chick here». They had NO idea I had an appt and told me to call the owner whos number was on the front door. I called 3 different times and left 2 messages. I waited for close to 40 minues and left. I will NOT being using my groupon these people are a bumch of incompetent jokes! DONOTGOHERE!!!

Went to salon for an appointment at 3:00 pm. Waited in lobby til 4:30, when I was finally taken back. Spanish barely english speaking tall woman was who my appointment was with. She was the lady who went on about being married to a 40+ yr old man because she likes older men and she was only 30 something. Person before me who was being serviced by her when we got there had taken over an hour before she took me. While I was waiting I spoke with the person next to me who was booked for a 3pm also with the same lady. She double booked. My haircut took her about 15 – 20 minutes, she was completely rushing thru the entire thing to get to the lady that was sitting next to me. Not only was everything she did completely unprofessional, my haircut came out horrible and wasn’t anything I had asked for. There were parts of my hair longer than others and patches everywhere. These people are amateurs, I have had better haircuts from the beginner students at paul mitchell. Please avoid at all costs.

Please note: I have not physically been to this salon. This is my experience BEFORE I got there. They may actually be professional, however, I decided that I wasn’t going to try them out due to my experience(or lack thereof) with them thus far. Bought a Groupon for a haircut and style. It was cheap, I need a haircut, so I purchased. Went to website(should have done this BEFORE I purchased the Groupon): Looks like a 5 year old made it. By the way — one of the two phone numbers listed on their website is for a Taxi Cab company. Called and left a voice mail on the phone number provided on the Groupon and the website. It is obviously someone’s cell phone, not a professional business line. First part of it is in English(could barely understand and thought that I had an incorrect phone number, but the words«Bio Salon and Spa» were heard.) The second part of the message in Spanish. I am not sure what that part said since I don’t speak Spanish. I left a voice mail for a return phone call to book an appointment. Over 24 hours later, no call back. No big deal; I’ll try again. Called the number listed on the Groupon and the website again and got the same voice mail that I received the previous day. Decided to try the other phone number listed on the website, and reached a taxi company. ?? Decided to try email — I want to mention that the email listed on their website doesn’t even mention Bio Salon and Spa. In fact, it was for a photography company. Decided to email anyway. Email wouldn’t even send — kept getting an error message. Well, I tried. Too much effort — I’ll just go somewhere else. I cancelled my Groupon. My first impression of this salon is that it is unorganized, low quality, and not customer oriented. Unfortunately, I am big on first impressions, and this first impression was not a good one. I do not plan on visiting Bio Salon and Spa. Perhaps if they get their act together; have a real phone number with a proper receptionist, a decent website with an actual way to get in touch with them, then maybe I would consider giving them another chance.
