Stop hating on this place. It’s conveniently set between a Ethiopian and Cuban restaurant. And also a pedimanihairsallybeautysupply business, somewhere in that general vicinity. It delivers, and basically offers no table service. Unless you dislike Americanized take out that much, you should love it here. Grow up.

I’ve never got food poisoning here so I feel like that’s a good sign. They make the food super fast and it’s cheap what more could you ask for from a hole in the wall take out place. Hot sour soup and crab Rangoons are good!

They need to learn their chinese, chow mein literally means«pan-fried noodles.» So either they don’t know their chinese food or they messed up and didn’t want to give me the correct order. Food quality is meh and doesn’t make for the outrage of misleading names. Would not order from here again.

Oh Food Wall, how I miss you now that I’ve moved out of delivery range. The flavorful ginger scallion tofu! The crispy scallion pancakes! The sketchy-looking nondescript white van with stick-on letters spelling FO0DWA L! A solid hole-in-the-wall neighborhood Chinese place.

Someone help me. I’m addicted to the Salt and Pepper Shrimp. I can’t stop. I especially love the shredded napa bed and diced jalapenos. Nice staff… very friendly and they remember my preferences.

We’ve been semi-regular customers for years, and you’d be hard-pressed to find a better Chinese takeout/delivery place in greater Boston. In appetizers, the salt & pepper calamari, dumplings, and crab Rangoon are particularly well-done; most of the main dishes we’ve tried over the years are flavorful and well-cooked(the Kung Pao chicken, garlic three delight, and general gao’s chicken, among many others, are worth a try). Delivery is fast and almost always accurate. Standard fare, well done!

I’ve been searching for an American Chinese eatery for 2 years… now I’ve FINALLY found it! Food Wall is your classic neighborhood Chinese takeout, with your standard fare of sautéed and fried meats & veggies, fried rice, lo mein, and various appetizers. The Combination Plates and All Day Specials are really a deal considering generous amount of food given, and both delivery and take out are made fresh to order. The quality is leaps and bounds over other Asian fare in the area.

I love Food Wall, it is in my neighborhood, quick and easy. The people are friendly, and the food is your standard Chinese food, with a few extras. They also have curry and pad thai!

Food Wall is one of those places that offer your standard American influence Chinese food but it’s done GOOD! We ordered delivery– from the time I called to the time they got here was exactly 30 minutes! Super fast therefore unsurprisingly, the food was still STEAMINGHOT! This is something I greatly appreciate since more often than not I need to reheat the food since it’s luke warm by the time it arrives. The service over the phone and the delivery person were all very efficient and friendly. We ordered: Small Crab Ragoon(6 pcs) Small Vegetable Lo Mein Large Eggplant in Garlic Sauce Large Sesame Chicken –Meal came with a Large Container of White Rice Overall total: $ 35(They do charge a delivery fee of $ 2.50) *** This may seem pricey for your typical Chinese American Food HOWEVER, my boyfriend and myself had this for dinner THREE nights in a row. The portion sizes are very generous and you’ll definitely have plenty left over!!! *** Crab ragoons were delicious– filled with lots of cream cheese and still piping hot! Yum! Veggie Lo Mein was loaded with lots of vegetables including mushrooms, snow peas– overall this was my least favorite. I thought it could do with more soy sauce. The Sesame Chicken was delicious! It had broccoli with it which is nice. The real winner was the Eggplant in Garlic Sauce! I couldn’t believe how much both my boyfriend and I loved this dish! It’s loaded with veggies! And the sauce is to die for– I had to refrain myself from licking the plate clean! Definitely a keeper! Overall I think Food Wall is definitely a keeper for those nights you’re going to have a night in!

This is my Friday night traditional chino spot! I love this place. The food is Kind of pricier than other spots at about $ 9 but it’s definitely justified because you get A TON of food! My meal usually lasts me 2 – 3 days That’s how much they give you. The pork fried rice is amazing too best in boston. I have no complaint about this place and it’s hard to find a good chino spot in Boston, but this is my default spot!

Ok. So, this is one of those reviews that is for a business«given what they are.» Food Wall — for an Americanized Chinese food take-out joint — is about as perfect as it comes. I have never gotten anything from this place that wasn’t absolutely perfect… Then again, i’m not sure I have eaten here more than two times without being just slightly over the legal limit. If you want some perfectly wonderful fried or sautéed Americanized Chinese food — and don’t want to break the bank — you cannot do any better than this place. Also of note –One time, I went to an engagement party that was catered by food wall… It was single-handedly the best catering I have ever had.

DISGUSTING! Disgusting! Disgusting! Did I say disgusting? DISGUSTING! I spent almost 40.00 on this food and it was gross! No flavor and overcooked chicken wings and boneless ribs! House special rice was bland with very little«house special» added to the rice! Crab Ragoons overcooked. The Lo Mein house special rice also had no flavor and very little«house special!» It also had a bitter after taste which I guess is from MSG! The white pieces of meat in the«house specials» I am not sure it’s chicken. Has a weird texture and taste. The city needs to shut this place down! Waste of money! The entire order has gone into the trash! If I could get My money back I would! I’ll never buy from Food Wall again! I am deeply disturbed by what I have wasted money on. I’ve come to the conclusion that I will not be buying anymore Chinese food from anywhere!

Love it! We took this place for granted while living in JP, then moved to West Roxbury and found there was nothing there anywhere CLOSE to Food Wall’s quality. Especially good for vegetarians — delicious eggplant, hot & spicy bean curd, kung po tofu… And the prices are so reasonable!

Ordered… Pork fried rice — tasty with the duck sauce. No fatty pieces of pork. Good. Boneless spareribs — dull looking. Had to pick through the container for ones without a lot of fat on them. They tasted okay. Chicken wings — Two of my relatives tried it and liked it. Crab rangoons — below average. Triangular shaped. Filling was lukewarm, thick, and pasty-like. I’ve eaten far superior tasting crab rangoons than these. Definitely would not order those again. The rice with duck sauce and edible pieces of boneless spareribs saved it for me. Overall, okay experience. Mediocre, at best. I give them a three, because I’d give them another shot.

Felt that I needed to write a review of Food Wall before moving out of JP. I’ve never been happier with a dive-y Chinese place than I have been with Food Wall. The food is actually good — not too greasy but just greasy enough. They also make a mean crab rangoon, which is usually how I judge a Chinese place. Deliver is 30 minutes tops. I really could just go on and on about this place. Get the general gaus, dumplings, scallion pancakes, twice cooked pork.

Food wall you are going to be my nemesis! As per previous reviews I ordered the curried chicken dumplings and they were absolutely amazing. Seriously, I might give up my first born to have them again(if I had a firstborn that is). Anyway, I also ordered the combo of twice cooked pork with pork fried rice and crab rangoon. The rice was so-so, would have been better to order brown, but that twice cooked pork was so good I had to force myself to slow down. Portion sizes are so big I could have fed 3 – 4 people. After my second meal I threw the rest out because really do I need 3 helpings of twice cooked pork on my thighs? Don’t answer that… Delivery was fast and courteous, everything bagged up well so no strange spills as I took everything out. I will definitely be ordering from Food Wall again.

What does one do when faced with this serious dilemma: You could give any rating — 1 star, 2, 5 — and they would all reflect a version of your truth? Luckily for Food Wall, I consider this place to be part of my family. I just *really* wish they would figure out their curry dumpling recipe/system. When they are fresh they can be really good. Other times, I feel like I’m eating a dirty cat toy. Their service is impeccable. You call these guys at 1:45am on a Sunday morning, barely able to speak after a night of wine-drinking, and they’ll be at your door by 1:59 am with food. I have no idea what you’ll get, but it might be good. Food Wall, I thank you.

Here’s the breakdown: 1. Their fried curry dumplings are unbelievable. No, seriously, it’s like someone from the depths of arctic Siberia decided that the best way to stuff«pirozhki» is with seasoned, curried ground meat. Genius idea, wish I thought of it.(+2 stars) 2. This place is open late at night. For a city like Boston, that’s an automatic bonus, because — surprise! — shit doesn’t stay open past 10:30PM here, ever. Seriously, Boston, what the fuck?!? You got something like 500,000 college students living here, and there’s, like, three places a guy can get a burger after midnight. Get your shit together!(+1.5 stars) 3. Their food is decent. It’s not going to blow you out of the water, but it’s totally legit American Chinese food. All the usual staples are there(Kung Pao whatever, General Gau’s chicken/beef, various steamed/fried vegetable dishes, appetizers, whatever), and they have been predictably adequate. I have been ordering from Food Wall for about 3 years now, and I have yet to get any food poisoning!(+1 star) 4. It’s kind of a dive, and in a hipsterriffic place like Jamaica Plain, that takes serious balls.(+.5 stars).

3.5 stars is dead on. But for ordering food after midnight, picking it up 10 minutes later and it tasting FANTASTIC, I’m willing to bump them up half a star. I only did take out so. Food-focused review here, folks. I got the Curry Vegetable. A pint/small($ 4.75, heck yeah!) was SO much food. Came with white rice, and it was all super filling and mad tasty. Exact amount of spice and everything. Food Wall, even if you weren’t the last choice open late at night, I’ll totally choose you again. Just… get with that online ordering business!
