Tello’s

There’s a huge difference between getting quality clothes dirt cheap and getting dirt cheap clothes.
I’m not reviewing the location; it’s been closed for a year or so. God knows! I went to the store and got my first winter coat ever. I went cold that winter. Ever since, every time a friend of mine wanted to go shopping there I’d just looked at the clothes in amazement of how «cute/​cheap» they feel and look. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a rich girl. My closet is filled to the brim with Old Navy’s clothes, but the difference is that the fabric feels/​looks of quality and the outfit looks cute!
Their clothes are ornate and ugh!!! I was kind of shocked when one of the staff yelled at another one (in Spanish) to check me out to see if I steal something or not! I was shocked because I am Latina and understood everything loud and clear and most importantly, who’s going to steal that crap?

Tellos has been closed for a few months. It’s rainbows now same type of store.

I walked in here once looking for something specific and hoping to find it for a good price. I walked in and the place was a mess and the staff were screaming back and forth to each other across the store (i felt like i was barging in on their private conversation).
But the worst part was that as I was walking around I felt something wet on my head — i look up and there is a huge leak getting not only me wet, but the clothes too. And that wasn’t the only leak.
It was horribly dirty and extremely cheap.

If you need a quick item for the club or an event for THAT NIGHT, go right ahead! The clothes are cheap and dont last 3 washes, sales people are rude and talk spanish to eachother from across the store! I went to buy a quick pair or earrings here once and 3 of the cashiers were talking about some other girl who worked there that called out and how they think she was pregnant and was going to get it takin care off (what ever that means) but really at the register while ringing people up?! and lets not forget they TALK ON THEIR CELL PHONES WHILE THEY ARE RINGING YOU UP! Cheap quick clothes yes, customer service help with a smile. NO

I give Tello 3 stars because I mostly like them for the underwear. Their thongs and bras are really cute, sexy and cheap. I also like the plain solid color tees and long sleeved shirts. Go great with anything and also cheap. I’ve gotten the occasional cute top here in there for going out. Even got me a pair of cute black pumps once. You have to look, there are hidden gems. But mostly, their clothes are NOT my style at all, very cheap looking. Their bags are hideous too and their accessories are not cute at all.
So in conclusion, if you want cheap basic tops, cute lingerie, and the occasional gem of a great top, go to Tello’s. But if your looking for high quality clothing… steer clear.

It was the Saturday night before Halloween and I was in desperate need of a few items to throw together a Richard Simmons costume.
The Garment District supplied my wig but left me hanging when it came to the rest of my tacky 80s getup. I ventured over to Tello’s which was right down the street from Jenna C’s apartment of cats & sin hoping to find some arm bands, 80s socks, and whatever else I could find to make this costume work.
Walking into the store was like walking into the RMV — wicked long lines, crazy employees, and organized chaos.
It was as if the idea of a «stock room» hadn’t been invented yet since the store was OVERFLOWING with merchandise. My butt was constantly bumping into racks, baskets, and tables. There were bins here, boxes there, and I felt my brain spinning as I tried to figure out where I was.
Knocking over piles and trampling over goods, I was on the verge of a stroke. I found some socks I could work with, but the line for the cashier was about 20 customers deep (and I’m not even exaggerating).
«I don’t want to die here,» I thought to myself.
So I threw the socks to the ground, kicked over a shoe rack, and ran.
Shop here for cheap clothing, but bring heart medication and a snack. It’s going to be a long night.

This place smells kinda funny. The clothing selection is pretty «ghetto» and cheap in my opinion; I didn’t see anything I liked.
I needed boxers do to a lack-​of-​doing-​laundry, so I got some here. 8 bucks for 3 pairs… not bad I guess. But the boxers I got are super cheap feeling and fit terrible. Bleh. There is nothing worse than worthless underwear.
Staff seemed preoccupied and were yelling across the store to each other in Spanish which was annoying… I don’t think I’ll be coming back here anytime soon.
