I’d have to say I would never have stumbled across this place if I didn’t have to perform my jury duty services across the street. But after reviewing earlier Unilocal reviews I decided to visit here for lunch. Absolutely loved the dan dan mein that I ordered right after the bat, and I truly appreciate the good customer service I got at this location. The staff was overall very friendly and the food hit the spot when I needed the most.

A true find in a neighborhood that doesn’t outwardly appear to appeal to the Asian community, however a fine meal at an unbelievably low price is appetizing to any and all groups in all shapes and sizes. Running late, such is my rabbit in the top coat attempt at controlling time, I dashed in and out in a matter of seven turns of the enormous lo mein strainer, sizably comparable to traffic and transit signage. Two orders of 8 dumplings & a soda or water, fork over a twenty and I’m handed over dinner for two and thirteen dollars change. If your looking to buy in bulk, grab thirty for seven, nine or ten dollars respectfully depending on your filler preference. Quality of these hand made double bites of deliciousness gives me full confidence in the high rating I assigned. The friendliness I initially thought came from the tip I gave, a mighty dollar fifty, had no direct reflection at all. Sincere in their thanks as I rushed the door like Deacon Jones rushing Bart Starr, the«thank you», «come again soon» echoed and reverberated beyond the confines of Jamaica’s new dumpling mecca.

Good food but horrible delivery service. I’ve been ordering from this restaurant every since I moved to Jamaica. The food is great and delivery fast. Every time the delivery guy came I would give him a good tip; however on this occasion I had no cash and only had a dollar… So I gave him the dollar for the tip. The driver left and came back handed the tip back and stated he doesn’t want this he doesn’t work for a dollar and left. I understand it may not have been the ideal tip amount but the rude gesture was what got me mad; especially since he has gotten tipped well on previous occasions.

I have been having lunch here the last 3 days and all I can say is that the food is great and the staff has been helpful and courteous. My plan is to eat the chicken lo mein and dumpling special until I have tried all the different dumpling varieties. So far so good. As I have had the pork and chive, pork and cabbage and shrimp dumpling. All delicious but the pork and chive are my favorite. I will be coming back and I suggest you try it too.

Great food and awesome dumplings. Awesome people. Awesome drinks. Get the shrimp. Get the chicken. Get the pork and chive. Get it all. Then throw a bunch of dumpling sauce on it.

Very good dumpling house. Sesame pancake and dumplings were great. Won ton soup was average.

When we peeked into the door of this place looking for a good place to eat after picking up our friends at the airport, a customer waved for us to come in and told us the place was great and would be worth our while. Boy was she right! This place had delicious food and excellent service. I had the Dan Dan Men and it was the right level of spice and very tasty. The dumplings were handmade and very good. As it was my first time having bubble tea, the lady at the front counter offered to give me a free second tea if I didn’t like the flavor of the first one. The entire time she was very courteous and helpful. Price wise it is very cheap. I really wish this place was in my neighborhood, but there’s a good chance my wife and I will return anyway at some point. I don’t often give 5 stars but this place really deserves it.

Definitely come here for a quick and cheap lunch in the middle of jury duty! Ordered the pork and chives dumpling noodle soup and it hit the spot on a chilly day. Everyone who worked there was super nice and attentive — would come around asking how the food was. From what I observed, it looks like the dumplings were handmade and were super tasty. Well spent $ 5!

Certain people on Unilocal are not to be trusted when it comes to the review of food. I went to get food here today and was severely underwhelmed. I got shrimp dumplings, which weren’t anything special, and the sesame pancake sandwich, which had so much potential but fell short. Mine was DRY, there needs to be some sort of sauce or marination of the chicken to make it more flavorful and less dry. The cuts of chicken were white meat and it helps to have some sort of sauce when dealing with that. Aside from that the Milk Tea was divine, not the best I’ve ever had but pretty delicious, and so are their smoothies, which are more like slushes, absolutely delicious. I’d go back for the drinks but will consider going elsewhere for a satisfying meal.

Exhausted and drained from a long day of jury duty, you can imagine my delight upon stumbling across an authentic Chinese dumpling house, practically right across the street from the court … tried the Dan Dan Mein(mouth-numbingly spicy and peppery) and delicious fried pork dumplings(perfect with a dab of sriracha) and took an extra order of hand-made spicy shrimp dumplings home for dinner. Came here dreading jury duty. … Suffice to say I’m actually looking forward to performing my civic duty, with ample opportunity to eat here again. And again. And again.

Dumplings not as good as the giant ones on Main Street that are the same price. But the real winner was the scallion pancake sandwich with chicken! Perfection!

Such a welcome to the neighborhood! It’s great and you don’t even have to go all the way to Flushing to find some amazing food. After two trips here, their duck sandwich is my personal favorite but you can’t come here without trying the spicy wontons. This is very similar to White Bear’s wontons in Flushing but better because you can actually get them and not have to be the first customer. Their dan dan noodles also hits the spot on a cold day. This place’s baseline is generally spicier than most places so make sure to order accordingly.

On my first day of jury duty I walked by this place and noticed the crowd. Unfortunately, I had already eaten my lunch. I then checked Unilocal and noticed the good reviews. I went there on my second day. I wish I had discovered this place sooner. I ordered the Beijing noodles(in a pork sauce) and pork dumplings along with a sesame pancake. The fried dumplings were amazing, and will squirt if you bite into them too quickly. The Beijing noodles were wonderfully flavorful, but adding a bit of Sriracha sauce really gave them a great kick. I loved it!!! The sesame pancake was good, but I wasn’t really impressed with it. However, I had it plain. The cashier had mentioned they are usually cut in half and used to make sandwiches. I can imagine that they would be much better served that way. The cashier(and I think the owner) was super nice and helpful. When I was finished, she walked by my table and asked if I had enjoyed my meal. I gave her an emphatic YES. In terms of décor, the place is okay. The tables are clean, and the restroom is clean too. I really wish this place was closer to where I live. It’s roughly 45 minutes away from my place by subway, and the parking situation in this area is really bad. If the owner is reading this review and thinking of expanding, please open a restaurant in Astoria!!! If you happen to be in this area on jury duty, or work in the area, I wholeheartedly recommend that you visit this place!!!

We needed to drop off a friend at the JFK Airport and want to grab a quick bite nearby. This place is 12 minutes form the airport and we had a great time. The food is solid(fried dumplings were better than the boiled and the pork and chive were our favorite over the chicken.) And it was SUPER cheap. We(4 men in our mid 20s) had a great meal and left uncomfortable full with leftovers and paid $ 10 each. Main reason I would say 5 stars is for the incredible bang for buck as well as the fact that they were so nice to us. Let us get free second sodas and took great care of us! *Side note: When we walked in there were two cops eating there. My mom always says go where cops go for the best cheap food in any neighborhood.*

Go here if you have jury duty! Dumplings are fresh and house made. You can get them steamed or pan-fried. I got the combo with the dan-dan noodles, but wish I had ordered more dumplings instead. The sauce for the dan-dan noodles was a little bland and the noodles were overcooked. They did not have a chew to them at all. Definitely try the dumplings and pass on the noodles. The sauce for the dumplings was also very good! Service is great here. The employees are very nice and helpful. Prices are great.

Handmade dumplings, fresh made noodles, sesame pancake sandwiches and more… this newest addition to the workplace lunch places on Sutphin Blvd. is a welcome addition. The two ladies running the show are very friendly and accommodating. The food is great and extremely affordable. The place is a quiet oasis from the hustle and bustle outside… if you want to treat yourself to a Bubble Tea and kickback for a moment. With Combo meals with a water or Soda included at 3 bucks — you can’t go wrong here.

2.5 stars The food was better during their grand opening, the ingredients are different now. We ordered shrimp dumplings, pork and duck sesame pancakes and a mango apple green bubble tea. The staff are friendly… Good service, but I’m not a huge fan of the food. The shrimp dumplings were great but now they’re pretty mediocre. They’ve changed it to small pieces of baby shrimp perhaps, nowhere near the quality it was before. Seafood is expensive, but seriously that’s a big change. The sesame pancake sandwiches are cheap and filling, but not as good as before either. Slightly bland, a bit burnt. I had a sip of bubble tea and it’s much sweeter than before which appealed to L, but it has a weird flavor. If you’re used to Chinese fast food, then you might enjoy it more than I did, but I’m prob not going to return; Vanessa’s Dumplings is much better. I don’t eat Chinese food very often, but I’d rather go to Flushing, Elmhurst or Chinatown, if its for me.

My meal here was the highlight of my day after being stuck inside the prisoner walls of Queens Court for jury duty. Although these may not have been the best dumplings or the best bowl of noodle soup I’ve had, it’s still authentic and delicious! Dumplings here are packed with juicy meat with thicker skin and go for just $ 1.50-$ 2.50 for an order of 4. The homemade sauce for the dumplings could use a bit more of a tangy kick but still worked well with the meat. I had the hot & sour noodle soup that came with a generous amount of glass noodles. The bold, spicy and tangy flavor was spot on and was soaked up well by the vegetables and noodles, but there was only a spoonful of meat. Bubble tea was surprisingly better than I expected, very milky and smooth and not overly sweet. I definitely recommend this spot if you find yourself stuck at jury duty! Did I mention how sweet and friendly the Chinese ladies here are?

This recently opened restaurant caught my eye because of it’s unique menu(for the area). I was craving noodles for breakfast so I made my way here in the afternoon. The place was packed and people were flooding in. Everything was hectic and customer service was slow… can’t really blame them too much though. I ordered noodles with sesame sauce(3.75) and pork and cabbage dumplings(got my order wrong and gave me one with chives). The noodles were different from what a was used to because of it’s light sauce, but it wasn’t bad. They gave a generous amount of noodles to fill me up. The dumplings were simply disappointing not because it was the wrong item, but because it was hard and partially undercooked. *Updated* Visited another time and got boiled dumplings which still came undercooked. Their dumplings have too dough and the service is a bit rushed. Overall, they have decent food for a cheap price, but nothing that’s extremely wow. The workers are extremely nice and the seating area is neat and small(they have a restroom). Minimum for card is 8 $. Nice place to try something new if you’re only used to the generic Chinese food. Being Chinese myself, I recommend just making the trip to Flushing if you would really want great an authentic food.

Listen up, Jamaica! There is finally tasty bubble tea in the neighborhood and it’s here! After being disappointed time and time again by half-assed boba in sordid little holes in the wall nearby, I am so so excited to finally have a good variety of flavors for only $ 2.50 and most importantly — they do the texture of the pearls right. I’m not 100% certain that it’s not just powdered tea, but my standards for the area are low and I’ll take it! They also have an assortment of smoothies, teas and lemonades — just in time for summer. But this is a dumpling house, and I would be remiss not to touch upon the food. I’m no expert, but the dumplings, while a bit bland, are not rubbery at all — skins are not too thick, not too thin, and that’s always a good sign. They make a quick, easy, inexpensive and filling lunch if the business can work out some of their opening day kinks. That said, don’t neglect the other items on the menu, which, to my delight, also has sesame pancakes and noodle soups. They put pickled carrots in the sesame sandwiches(yum!), which is the closest you’ll ever see to banh mo in Jamaica. It’s all typical fare from the food courts in Flushing and it’s real Chinese food. You won’t find General Tso’s here. However, I doubt the owners have much to do with Beijing, as the storefront/name implies… they speak Cantonese(and English) here! Hope they stick around for awhile!
