Ah the DQ at the Y. See, there used to be two DQ’s in town, one by the river and one at the«Y»(where 231 splits off from 56). Anyway, the one at the river went downhill and closed finally, but this one is as strong as it always was! The only drawback is it doesn’t have the delicious burgers. However, their chili dogs are awesome(yes, you can buy that chili sauce by the quart, folks!) and always filling. This place is still owned locally and a lot of the same employees have been there since my childhood. Fast and friendly service with a smile. It’s a cute location, and very easy to get in and out of quickly. They even added a drive through a while back, though it is a bit unorthodox because of the nature of the property and building. They do keep cakes and all the favorite boxed frozen goodies inside and will do custom cakes, too!

What’s not to like about Dairy Queen. This one doesn’t have burgers, but they have great Chili Dogs, and of course all the usual frozen concoctions. Seems to be well run and clean. And FYI, to out-of-towners, if someone directs you to the DQ down at the Y, they’re not talking about the YMCA, but this spot, where US-231 and IN-56 split(or converge, depending on how you want to look at it).

Home town friendliness and great food! Always recommend DQ especially on those warm days.
