After driving past this place for year and hearing about it so much I decided to give it a shot. Big mistake. After all the hype I really set the bar high for this place. I don’t know why I was expecting higher end bar food, sadly I didn’t get anything close to it. Mischevious Brown, this was the brown ale we decided to try. WARM. WARM! As soon as we were seated we were informed that 3 of the beers on the menu of maybe 8 were out… OK We ordered apps for the night, garlic chicken wings, OK2 stars Mozzerella sticks, frozen mozzerlla sticks, 1 star, sauce was inedible «Skinny fries»; COLD, bland and tasted and looked like a knock-off McDonald fry. The bar was«out» of a lot of things. I wanted a mojito, ordered a mango one, waiter came back to inform me they were out of mango, he ran through a list of other vodka flavors, I picked black cherry, OUTOUTOUT. How are you a «bar» and out of basic things that you were offering me? JOKE, wish I could get a refund on a disappointing meal

I love going to the Drake. I love their menu and the atmosphere. Most of the staff is friendly and welcoming. I go there with my friends all the time. But like I have said about other restaurants, if you don’t except Visa or MasterCard gift cards, it should be posted.

I was there last night for a happy hour. The server was horrible. He constantly reached over my food, knocked down my purse and didn’t apologize and was never anywhere to be found. I will not return and this was my first time there. Every employee that I encountered was rude. It was a very disappointing experience.

The burgers are great but the the place has lost that pub feel, something has changed. Also another tavern(see my review of Bernie’s) serving 12 oz. pours of certain craft beers for the price($ 7) of a pint elsewhere claiming high alcohol(ours was 7% ABVIPA???). But you could get the Goose Island(~Budwiser~) Pils in a pint for 6.25 — blah. Hope this isn’t a trend…

I recently moved back to the area and The Drake has fast become my favorite place for a glass of wine and great appetizers after work. The staff is super friendly, especially Joe. I come in usually about 15 minutes before the kitchen closes(because of my work shift) and never has anyone beefed me about ordering. I like the menu, the friendly atmosphere and the affordable wine options.

Solid burgers. I would recommend the captain Morgan burger with steak sauce and potato strings(no mushrooms for me).

I would love to give the Drake 4 stars but the parking situation frustrates the hell out of me every time I try to go. They have about 20 spots in a very small and narrow parking lot and one entrance that doubles as the exit. The burgers are very good, the happy hour is good, and the bartenders are friendly, but the parking situation is unfortunately shit.

Came here two nights ago for dinner and was unpleasantly surprised by the change in menu. The skinny fries that I have consistently come here for have been changed which was a disappointment. The portion size has also changed. The crab cake on the crab cake salad is not as flavorful nor does the salad have the same ingredients. AND Tuna tartar sliders– HORRIBLE idea! It’s like ceviche on bread! Unfortunately this will probably be our last time here after being consistent customers for the last three years.

Did the owner alter the dress code for the millennial staff? Looks like he did, at least at lunch. It went from laced legs promiscuity and slutty black boots to tight blue jeans and a tee. Perhaps he realized that it is Jenkintown and not Sweden nor the East Village of Manhattan where that fits the environs. I suppose the band wagon Villanova fans are petered out this week after riding high all of last week. This may be then nite to grab one of their over priced/over rated small burgers.

Never again. We came on a nice night wanting to sit outside. They told us it was a 25 minute wait, there was a table set and ready but I guess we couldn’t have it. After seating us inside at a wobbly table we watched within minutes another table open up outside that a group after us got. The lights were dimmed inside and it wasn’t even 7 yet, families and older couples were in the restaurant. It was too loud for us as a family, which is why we wanted to be outside, that and the weather was beautiful! Oh yeah and they were out of Sierra Mist and wheat bread.

I love their beer selections. A good list of rotating drafts that aren’t just IPA’s. I love my stouts and porters, and I recently had a delicious white stout there. I always have a good meal at Drake. Most recently I had a burger with Brie and figs on top, which was such a unique combination. And tasty! This is a favorite joint for my friends and me, and I’ll definitely be coming back soon. My waitress was also very attentive and checked on my table often. I also partook in a karaōke night there many years ago. That was a riot.

The bacon cheddar burger was delicious! Love the fancy bun burn with their name, «Drake» on it. We sat in the outdoor area for a work meeting in December. It was a nice(and delicious) change of scenery for our team. Although the outdoor area was kept warm for the temperature to be comfortable, the seating was quite uncomfortable. Definitely only good for a short stay and not a place I’d want to lounge for long. The chairs are kind of awkward in that you either sit very far forward or all the way back. Our waitress was very kind. She popped by at the appropriate times to check in on us and was respectful of our meeting.

Had the chance to check out the Drake on Old York road tonight. Sat outside in the lovely weather and enjoyed«branded» burgers that were slightly over cooked but tasty none the less. Service friendly yet a little slow but again, we were outside. Would defiantly go back again.

Service has been fairly pleasant, at least in the outdoor area, although sometimes you have to wait a while for a check and wait again to hunt the server down to pay, which is annoying, mainly due to the fact that: HORRIBLEMUSIC is BLASTED, even in the outdoor patio area, and they claim they cannot change it, which is not possible, because we have been there when the music was OFF. Tables are wobbly, so be prepared to shove a wad of paper napkins under a leg or two. Last time we were there, we both got DIRTYPLATES handed to us by a server for the purpose of sharing our appetizer. Not a good sign for how the place is run/managed. Seems to be on a downward trend in terms of overall experience.

The Drake is a great pub, with awesome food! I’ve been a few times for lunch. The soups are excellent– especially the chili. In addition, their sandwiches are VERY good as well, specifically the burgers. I am not a huge beer fan, but they do have a great selection that is always updated. I would certainly recommend the Drake as a spot for lunch, happy hour or just a night out watching the game. Looking forward to returning!

The owner of the Drake must be making money hand over fist: He has the audacity to charge $ 13.99 for a salad consisting of rotten baby greens, 4 freezer-burnt shrimp, 4 pencil-thin asparagus spears, 4 grape tomato halves(including one that was rotten) and half of an over-ripe, bruised avocado. When the issues were brought to the kitchen’s attention, the response was the shrimp did not come out of their freezer. Really? Virtually all shrimp north of the Mason-Dixon Line have been frozen. Just because you did not personally defrost them does not mean they were swimming in Georgia’s coastal waters yesterday. Indeed, they likely came from Asia, where about 90% of shrimp are harvested. And it should never be the customer’s job to sort the edible lettuce leaves from the black and decayed ones. Yuck! Service here was terrible from the get. The maître’ d was nowhere to be found, and we waited ten minutes before she appeared and seated us in the half-empty patio. Meanwhile our server, Jess M. was more interested in socializing with her bespectacled, brunette girl friend/hipster loitering at the next table than doing her job. Later, I was horrified to see Jess M bussing tables while clutching my credit card. Nobody wants to see their credit card circulate around a room. To add insult to injury, Jess’s obviously demented, pissant friend took it upon herself to hurl epithets in our direction as we departed. We should have heeded the advice in recent Unilocal reviews and continued our northward drive on Old York Road, bypassing this awful meal and incredibly dreadful service. We were fooled by the Drake’s appealing exterior and inviting patio. Save yourself the trouble and go to Vintage, whose food, service and bar offerings never disappoint.

6÷7÷15 dinner on patio Sat at our table for 18 min before our server could be bothered to come over. 25+ minutes until I had a drink in my hand. Bottled beer, no glass offered. Weak apology from server. Table ordered the dirty chips app, which was brought out with no plates. When asked, our server furnished filthy plates with ketchup and cheese on them. Weak apology from server. Main courses… Thai Chicken Salad — Lettuce on salad was soaking wet(at least they washed something) which watered down the thai sauce and dressing. Burgers — OK, aside from the stale buns. Mentioned this to staff, received weak apology. To say their kitchen turns out the«best» anything likely means said person had suffered some sort of prior trauma to their tastebuds. Server never checked to see if our food was ok until we were done, never refilled our drinks. Absolute joke

This was one of the worst burger joints I have been to in a long time. Let’s start off with the fact that it took more than 15 minutes for anyone to at least greet us. Another 8 minutes to get a beer menu as they delivered 2 waters to the table of THREE people. guess we have to share one water ? Menus were gross to look at let alone touch. They were sticking together page after page, falling apart and in some corners moldy! Yes MOLD. Looks like they leave the menus out in the rain… yuck Ordered two beers and decided to order our app and meal all at the same time since service stated off poor to begin with. Ordered dirty chips, came with no plates to share and was drenched in blue cheese dressing, not blue cheese itself! Had to ask for a glass for the beer and for plates. NO glass came had to go to the bar and dishes for app were grossly dirty. Waitress could have cared less. Dinner was horrible. Ordered two burgers, both came out with stale buns, and salad was watered down to the point that then the waitress came to take the plate the water spilled all over the table. Not only did we wait forever to order, get drinks but waited to get our bill. Then the waitress gives me the tab with no sleeve so I can put the money in? Yet she told us everything blows away on the patio… so why no money/credit card sleeves? Left the money and tab under the dirty ketchup bottle and bolted. Wish we could have voiced our opinions then but no responsible manager was present.

I have to agree with Brian H. While I really loved the inside of the bar the burger was«just ok.» They had a decent bottle selection and a few drafts. There were(2) bartenders and one of them was nice and the other just walked back and forth and didn’t make eye contact. The bar top was very sticky. This doesn’t bother me but I know some people would not be happy. I would stop in again to grab a few beers but I don’t understand how they claim to be one of the best burger spots around.
