This place is old school. The portions are huge, the prices are cheap. For about $ 5.00 you get a 10″ sub with Boar’s Head meats. That’s unheard of! The ladies behind the counter are friendly and classy. It’s a good neighborhood joint. It might not have some newly renovated interior or fresh supply of kale, but for all the basics, this is your joint.

I picked up a honey turkey w/american cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo, hot sauce, salt, pepper on a roll and a BLT on a roll for my fiancée to eat in Van Vorst park. The turkey: it looks like they only use slice-to-order Boar’s Head meat here which is a huge plus for any cold-cut sandwich. The meat was plentiful, the bread was somewhat fresh and the tomato had good flavor. this sandwich was a solid for $ 5. The BLT: mounds of thick bacon covered with lettuce and tomato — was happy to see they didn’t skimp out on the meat. Price was fair at $ 3.50. This place is a great spot for getting a legit deli sandwich — it’s very close to the stuff you’ll find in NYC at a lower price point. Also, staff was great — two very nice ladies working behind the counter.

Love this place! To think I went to wonder bagel, saw the line out the door and left. Found this place and never looked back. Everything is reasonably priced, friendly staff, and great food. It is the typical neighborhood deli with a little more passion. You will not be disappointed. I would say this, try not to go around Ferris high school lunch time. The store can get pretty packed quickly.

These guys keep it real. Not like some of the other places in the area trying to overdo things and charge a premium for their attempt at ‘gourmet’ food. They have deli meats, a grill and a little market to buy some convenience items. Can’t ask for much more. Check it out

This is what you are looking for. Since A1 closed I haven’t found a good deli nearby. Finally found Dixon! It’s clean, good food, and good prices.

Friendly owners. Good prices. Simple food. Much cleaner than some of these other little delis you see around the area. Nothing really to complain about!

Used love that deli until today as I stop by to pick up few slices of Marble Cake a gentlemen at register took my order, start cutting cake to my surprise after handling money didn’t bother to wash hands trying hard to use knife with-out touching my cake with hands. He was very unpleasant not only to look at or to talk to bitchy face(maybe a owner) bad energy(with that f-up attitude he should clean floors or kitchen pots not handling food). Most of mornings last year did enjoy my breakfast at Dixton deli because of friendly staff prices were very affordable. So back to my cakes got 3 slices as I’m looking at them pop question what happened did they shrank why did cut smaller usual like I used-to get 11/4″ thick this guy cuts less than ¾ ” I’m like what Happened? He replays well you know girls used-to cut bigger but this is the appropriate slice for the money… wow $ 1,75 for thin tiny slice more expensive than Manhattan prices shame how people become greedy. It’s Shame how money become priority over service and caring for loyal costumers. Thank God for the ladies behind counter who still make great sandwiches, nice fresh bake goods, good coffee always pleasant and fast.

I love a good deli that’s close to home and very affordable. Where can you buy a bacon & egg sandwich, with two newspapers and a cup of coffee for under $ 5.00 in Downtown JC? Dixon Deli. Need I say more? :-)

Love this deli. Used to live on varick but moved to bright closer to grove but I still walk out of my way to pick up breakfast/lunch/dinner here. Great sandwiches and awesome prices. Don’t come on schooldays around noon, kids pack the place and you’ll be waiting forever. A great remedy when the prices on grove st(let alone manhattan) have given you a headache and the quality at subway has you feeling like you’re gonna puke. YES!

The best deli. Fresh baked goods. Fresh meats and a bomb ass spread of cheeses. Oh you need a good taylor ham egg and cheese? But your picky you want the eggs runny and the cheese un-melted. They got that. OH, do you like muffins baked fresh daily? Sometimes you pick one up and say its still warm. Oh they have that too. they also have good prices. Now that you know please don’t tell too many people… keep it between us.
