Great coffee shop– we were hunting for a coffee/bagel place– this is a great drop in. Great prices for a bagel or egg sandwich and coffee. It was a perfect start to the day– we’re very happy we found it and stopped in.

I’m not sure if I could second the service, I thought the lady at the register was pretty brusque but maybe she was just having a bad day. As for food and drinks. I wanted a latte but their espresso machine was broken so I could only get brewed coffee, which was pretty good. I got the Smoked Salmon and Avocado sandwich… it wasn’t very good. Likely because the multigrain bread was all soggy and cheap – and barely toasted. The bagel sandwich though was solid. I definitely second reviews here on the bagel. The bacon+sausage+egg+tomato on Everything Bagel was everything you could desire, crispy bacon, toasty bread, look out Wonder Bagel!

Legal Grounds is the best place in the Grove Street area for a breakfast sandwich(Wonder Bagel is a close second). A bacon, egg and cheese WITH avocado on a roll is only $ 5, and if you order a bagel it’s from the delicious Wonder Bagel. The service is always friendly and fast. Love that they have both an indoor and outdoor seating area!

Egg on a roll, orange juice, and a chocolate muffin. It’s what the weekend was made for. Great spot to grab and go and the fact I can bring my dog in without an issue is wonderful. Weekend mornings can get very busy and the staff just can’t handle the volume. It’s not their fault, one cook and one cashier for the tiny space is all they can work with. Either way I’ll be back soon. Cash only unless you hit the $ 10 minimum.

Really good food, good coffee, nice people!!! Plus they let you bring your dog inside and have a nice garden in back in Spring and Summer.

Solid breakfast sandwiches, especially the wraps. Odd hours. But the staff is friendly enough and it’s a great local joint. Friends rave about the coffee, I don’t drink coffee myself so I can’t comment. But they get their bagels from Wonder Bagels so you know they are good. Off the beaten path but worth a visit! They have some interesting cream cheese flavors– those are next on my to try list!

Food is delicious. Coffee smells great. Reasonable prices. I don’t suggest eating in. The place needs a bit of a cleanup or a remodel.

I just moved to the area and visited here for the first time on a Saturday morning. I ordered a wheat bagel with lox and cream cheese and a large coffee. I waited 15 minutes and they gave me my order. On a Saturday morning call ahead. I got home with my order to realize it was a lox and cream cheese on wheat bread. Called and told them of the mistake and they prepared me the right order. I walked back and waited another 15 minutes. The coffee was average. I’ll keep coming here as it is convenient, but not very impressed so far.

Gooey, cheesy egg & cheese on a bagel. Nothing fancy, but exactly as it should be. The rest of the sandwiches sound yummy, but the egg & cheese is all I have tried, and is enough to make me a fan. Also a surprisingly decent selection of international whole bean coffee. Take it whole and grind it yourself, though! I got ½ lb that I asked to be ground«a bit coarse» for my reusable Keurig pod at work. What I got was a bag of rocks. I went back and they were gracious enough to grind me a replacement ½ lb, but that was no good either. She turned the dial all the way to extra-fine. I told her not so fine, to which she responded«the machine grinds everything more coarse than you expect.» She went medium-fine, and it was still quite coarse. They should get their grinder checked out. Until they do, order your hot bev while u wait for your egg & cheese and you’ll be all good.

I work right around the corner so I come here whenever I need lunch. Really great vibes! The owner is also very attentive, I’ve seen him in here a few times. I ALWAYS get there chipotle chicken wrap. It is a little more expensive than the other options and a little small, but packs a wallop of delicious flavor. If you are wicked hungry probably not the choice, but I go for quality over quantity. They also offer a BBQ mashup for $ 5 that is a great bang for your buck. All of the staff are very very friendly. Love it here!

I must be really spoiled living in NYC. Ordered an iced latte and asked for less milk. She told me that«there’s espresso in the drink so there will already be less milk.» Ah, ok. The coffee was old school bitter. Shoulda stuck wt the local Starbucks. Sorry I walked up from the path train. Oh well.

–they roast their own coffee. it’s neither strong nor bitter and is enjoyable sans sugar –refreshing atmosphere from the plague of obnoxious hipster-cafes that focus heavily on copying tumblr-fads –solid sandwiches –patio space in back –i’m still exploring my new surroundings, but this is the best coffee i’ve had in JC so far –I’ve seen dogs inside the store, so editing this review to give it an extra star only complaints that are pretty trivial: –close shop earlier than their posted hours –awful selection of top 40 music –they don’t use reusable glasses/mugs for dine-in orders

Nestled in a cute neighborhood, is an equally cute café. They offer a decent variety of tea and coffee, as well as a plethora of delicious sandwiches. I tried the Tiger Spice Chai tea iced with soy milk and it was amazing! They have seating in the front window and an outdoor seating area. And to top it all off, free wifi! This place is definitely going in my favorites.

A small unassuming place on Grand street. It’s almost like you wouldn’t expect a shop to be here but that’s what also makes Legal Grounds special. Legal Grounds is the perfect place for a quick affordable meal when I don’t feel like making breakfast. They have a decent selection of breakfast sandwiches as well as muffins, bagels and even cookies. I usually order a cappuccino and a breakfast sandwich. Personally the coffee isn’t strong enough for my taste. They’ll ask if you want salt/pepper/ketchup on your sandwich(say yes!). Sometimes there’s a wait depending on when you go however it’s usually pretty quick. There is seating available if you want to sit down and enjoy your food however I tend to take mine to go. One time i didn’t have cash and my purchase didn’t meet the credit card minimum of $ 10 but the staff was willing to swipe my card anyway. I thought that was really nice but I opted to just tack something on to my purchase(after all they’re just trying to make a living).

Legal Grounds was just a few blocks from our apartment and had some great reviews. We needed coffee so the decision was pretty simple. A small cute coffee shop in Jersey City. We ordered a coffee and a hot chocolate, then a breakfast bagel for a snack. An impromptu to stop for our food tour that was a success. Thank you Unilocal– again.

Great place. I’ve been here once(this morning actually) and I already know I’m going to be back here many, many more times. We got two breakfast sandwiches and a medium coffee for $ 10, which is not bad at all. The food was delicious and surprisingly filling. I wasn’t a big fan of the coffee though. It was interesting, but it was weird at the same time. It’s definitely different from what I usually have. It’s a quaint little place. They have a small area for seating, but I recommend picking up. It was pretty packed at 10 am. Also, they have a $ 10 limit on credit cards. Based on previous reviews, it seems like they used to do cash only, but they changed their policy recently. Overall, I recommend coming here for a delicious breakfast that doesn’t break the bank. Will be back again(most likely next weekend since I walk in the opposite direction to work).

Totally making this my new go-to spot. So, it looks pretty janky on the outside which is kinda misleading. The inside is nice and cozy. I went in the afternoon and there were a couple free tables, but I dunno if it’s more crowded in the morning. Two yummy toasted bagels and an iced coffee for only $ 7! They have a huge outdoor patio in the back. Will def return!

Good sammiches & wraps. Good staff(depending on whose at the counter, make sure you repeat your order). Decent coffee & their iced green tea is light & refreshing. Nice outdoor garden but they need to clean the tables though. Also, their restroom is in DIRE need of either a thorough cleaning & repaint or an outright gut out. It’s getting a bit skeevy. Cash only w/ATM on the premises.
