I have been to Marow Deli three times in the past three days. Each time, I have encountered the same guy behind the counter. He probably thinks I’m a little strange by now. But no matter, because Marow’s awesomeness is worth my feeling awkward. Small bags of cheddar jalapeño Cheetos for 50 cents? That’s going to cause a serious problem for me over the next month as I study for the bar. As others have mentioned, the sandwiches rock. I hated Subway even before I knew that places like Marow existed. Now that I live down the street, I literally cannot fathom why you would go anywhere else for a cheap sandwich. I paid $ 4.50 for a sandwich that was about 10 inches long(I measured!) that was filled with quality ham that puts Subway to shame. They randomly stock approximately 8 different kinds of Kraft barbecue sauce. I also spied plenty of dried pasta and sauces, which could be really helpful in the case of a cooking mishap. It’s awesome to have stuff like this in a town where getting to the grocery store can be a bit of a pain. Sorry guy behind the counter in Marow. It looks like you are going to have to get used to me.

This is a great go-to place for when you wanna grab a snack or sandwich on the run. When we’re headed down the shore for the day in the summer, always hit them up for our beach sandwiches and drinks. Reasonably priced as well and nice guys at the counter.

In Downtown Jersey City, there’s a deli on almost every block. Marow Deli gets my vote as the best of the ‘hood. 1. They’re open 24 hours. Perfect when you’re coming home late at night, hungry, and most other places are closed. 2. The sandwiches are good. I usually get a turkey & fresh mozzarella. Unlike a skimpy subway sandwich, there is a LOT of turkey on the sandwich. 3. The prices. The sandwiches are in the $ 4 range, I think they charge a little more for the fresh mozzarella. The other day I got a BIG bag of baked cheese doodles for only 99 cents. Seriously. 4. Selection. They have a big selection of chips, doodles, pretzels, cookies and other treats to complement your sandwich, as well as every different beverage you can think of. Not like Subway where there’s 4 different kinds of chips to choose from, and whatever soda they have a contract with. They have some groceries too, and a good variety of them too, if you want to pick up a box of cereal or whatever. 5. The guys are nice! Always — even if you walk in a mess in the middle of the night or early in the morning. I like having a 24 hour, friendly, clean, deli in the neighborhood. Yay! I’m a fan.

Great everyday type of deli right on Jersey Ave. Quality cold cuts, cold drinks, cigarettes, cereals, etc. Extremely friendly people behind the counter. A very nice addition to the neighborhood. Very clean too! ATM inside.

This place is great for a snack after a night of boozin. Forget about subway’s $ 5 foot long cause you can get a quality sandwich here with Boar’s Head meats for $ 4 that will put crappy subway to shame. The guys working here are super nice too.
