Nu Flavor Kutz

I’ve been going to this barbershop for almost 8 years. In between those 8 years I’ve tried other barbershops and nothing even came close. I’m surrounded by nothing but barbershops, but take the 25 minute drive just because they’re that good. Really chill and cool people who give the best haircuts. Highly recommended.

This a Dope Barbershop right on West Side, right by communipaw ave. The prices are pretty good, the barbers are cool people.

I’m too lazy to make a Unilocal account but my anger made me do it… So I scheduled an appointment for a haircut with this guy named Angel, when I came there I acknowledged my presence and waited for my turn. Almost 2 hours elapsed from my scheduled appointment and he let other people he knew cut me. So anyway I don’t recommend this guy cutting your hair and plus when he cuts he presses the trimmer on your scalp so hard that it will be a painful 30 minute session. Angel is the barber located on the left side second seat as you enter the shop, he is a borderline heavy set Latino. Just needed to vent cause he didn’t even apologize or acknowledge my presence!

This review is for the tattoo shop Nu Flavor Ink which is under the same management of Nu Flavor Kutz. I was sent here by a friend who had some work done and the guys portfolio was legit. My experience was not so positive. It wasn’t because the tattoo was terrible it was because my artist, Omar, was not as reliable as I had hoped. Omar is one of the artists in Nu Flavor Ink. He is probably the best when it comes to coverups (which is what I had done) and line work. However, you can be Kat Von D, if you are irresponsible, no one is going to want to come to you for work. He was TWO hours late to my appointment, the shop wasn’t open so i waited in the barbershop and I couldn’t get in contact with him. When I was leaving was when he answered my phone call. He gave me his reasons on why he was late and was very remorseful on why he wasn’t professional. Everyone has their bad days, but out of courtesy, he could have returned my phone call. He offered a discount on my tattoo because of his tardiness which I gladly accepted. His work lived up to my friends hype and I loved how my tattoo turned out. He regularly checks if you are ok and makes sure to take breaks (in case you’re a wimp.) I would give this place a better rating but the tardiness threw me off. I do plan to go back SOLELY because his portfolio is sick and i loved how my cover up turned out. I will give it another review IF his timing improves.

I am visiting from Boston and needed a haircut so I decided to go in since they looked so busy. I was quiet impressed with the friendly service I received from Chris. He did exactly what I wanted him to do I left very satisfied. I told him I took a chance since there were no reviews from Unilocal but would write the first one.
