Definitely a no frills, old school barber shop. Don’t expect to be offered moose or hair paste at the end, but for $ 12 you get a quality simple cut in 15 minutes or less. Glad I found this place.

Pete is a chill guy; if your Italian that helps since he is also as well. Old school type of barber shop(they only take cash), but you get a good cut for a very cheap price.

Guys, remember your 1st cut? I do. Completely horrific. I remember coming here when I was still in kindergarten and having to sit on a slab of wood laid on top of the armrests so I would be high enough for Pete. Me being a little kid thought it was too high for comfort. I, also remember crying my eyes out when mom told Pete that I needed a crew cut one summer and watching him buzz away at my innocent little locks. Traumatic I tell ya. Several feet and a couple inches taller, here I am still frequenting this Jersey City landmark. One of the very few, if any, mom and pop barber shops still around. I must admit, I’ve bounced around other stylists now and then, but that was when I had hair. Now, I trust Pete can do the job. Isn’t that the main criteria when it comes to choosing the right barber? It’s all about trusting him to get it right each and every time, cause you don’t wanna wait 3 months for hair to fix itself. He’s got the daily paper while you wait(never seen more than 2 customers at a time here), old box TV, and some other old photos that gives the place a nostalgic feel to it. A good guy to talk to also. $ 12 for a cut. Usually older men frequent this place. I’ll be back in 3 – 4 weeks for my touch up.
