Salerno Pizza

I walk by this place on my way home everyday and every single day a man sitting in the passenger seat of the delivery car yells «baby what’s your name» and makes kiss-​y noises at me. Another one of the employees always comes to the front door and yells «I love you» or «damn you look good». This makes me feel wildly uncomfortable and I usually loudly boo them or cross the street to avoid them. I’ve actually gotten pizza from this place multiple times because I love pizza slightly more than I hate being sexually harassed. It’s very shitty thin greasy pizza that should only be eaten out of desperation.

Pizza is just okay. The store is dingy and hot and there’s nowhere comfortable to sit. It’s fine for cheap takeout.

The atmosphere is that of a homeless shelter (with several of them hanging out inside). The fettuccine alfredro was greasy and unappetizing — beyond that, it gave me some bad stomach pain. Would avoid certainly for pasta/​entrees. I felt like Ray Liotta at the end of Goodfellas, lamenting about how he can’t get a decent plate of pasta.
It’s hard to mess up pizza — and their’s is mediocre.
Would not recommend.

Used to be ok now they are getting dirty
Closed 2x by health Dept the heavy set guy in the afternoons smokes then goes back to the food without washing
At night he lets the vagrants hang out and gives them change and food

I ordered on Seamless and it said 1 hour wait… it was 2 ½ hours before the food got here and we live .3 miles away. This is the most insane and worst experience with take out I’ve ever had. And they forgot part of the order.

Ordered a pizza from Salerno the day after blizzard Jonas. Confirmation said that it would be delivered in 2 hours, but with the conditions I was fine with it. I called after 2 hours and they said my order was out and should be there shortly. About 10 minutes later I recieved a call from them saying ‚“sorry we are out of dough, you won’t be getting your order.”. I said how long have you been out of dough, and they said at least an hour… So in short the restaurant lied to me about the delivery and made me wait 2 hours before telling me I want getting my food… Will absolutely never order from this crap shoot again. F you Salerno Pizza. 0 stars

Ordered seamless and the homie called me to confirm my order, I forgot his name but he also wrote it on the box with a smiley face. Also, the two old people who delivered my food were adorable. The pizza was good too!

Surprisingly great experience. I ordered from here for the first time on a Monday night at 10:19 pm, 41 minutes before closing, using Seamless, and right after I confirmed the order, I was having second thoughts and read Unilocal reviews, which made me instantly regret my order because of all the bad comments. I ordered a medium plain cheese pizza and a cheeseburger with fries.
CAME EARLY! (On an 18 degree F night!) Delivery estimate was 11:04 — 11:14, and at 10:50 my phone rang.
FRENCH FRIES STILL CRISPY! Always a plus when they take the time to make holes in the container.
BURGER, as requested, was made medium well.
EXTRA PLATES and NAPKINS brought to me, as requested.
Cheese pizza is standard and yummy.
No complaints here! Just happy I didn’t have to go out late on a cold night and I have some yummy food.

One star because I have to. This place is straight trash. I made the mistake of even clicking thru the Seamless reviews because I was so hungry and lost my mind for a moment. Ordered a pie with pineapples and peppers. got pepperoni on the weakest crust ever made. House salad. old brown lettuce with icey tomatoes. Just don’t order from here.

The pizza is a solid «mediocre». Pepperoni and spicy peppers apparently equates to 10 – 12 pepperoni and A MILLION jalapeño. Sauce and dough are «meh». The calamari, however, is inedible. ANY good italian place KNOWS calamari should be in a fryer for about 60 seconds. This was clearly fried no less than 5 minutes. Yikes.
On top of that the delivery man gave the performance of a lifetime! Really! Oscar worthy. He called and said I had to come down. When I asked if he could come up, he hung up on me. Then after he took several minutes to scale the stairs to the third floor he leaned on the wall, and breathlessly handed the pizza box over. It’s was powerful and comical at the same time. Bravo, sir.
There are plenty of better pizza places around JC.

I am only giving 1 star because I have to. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread. I received a bowl of noodles with very little sauce and the sauce I did get did not taste good. Even the garlic bread was bad and that’s pretty hard to mess up. I couldn’t even eat what I ordered because it was so horrible.
I did call and complain. They were very nice and offered to refund my money but I wanted to put my review on here so help people avoid from ordering from them. They had good ratings through Seamless but I should’ve checked on here to see their low rating.

Everything had something wrong with it. Sandwich had almost no meat on it, and the bread was hard enough to hammer nails into a board. Ordered Diet Coke, they sent Diet Pepsi. Pasta overcooked. Sauce had way too much pepper. Actually, everything had too much freaking pepper on it. The guy cooking must love black pepper because they only thing they didn’t mess up was the chicken fingers and fries, but guess what: covered in black pepper for some reason. Never going here again.

I ordered delivery through Grubhub on a Saturday night around 9ish. I was starving so I didn’t know what to eat so I picked one of their starred menu items which was the cheesesteak and a side of onion rings.
The reason why I gave it 2 stars was just because the food was delivered during the time frame as promised. When you look at the cheesesteak, it looked fine. But that’s it really. The bread was stale. It practically had only onions, peppers, and American cheese with barely any steak. I had to drench it with ketchup so I can finish it and so I wouldn’t eat and think about what a waste of money this was. The onion rings were terrible too. The breading tasted stale and burned. I also drenched that with ketchup to survive the meal.
I honestly ordered from here because it was the highest rated on Grubhub around the area. But on Unilocal,it had only 2 stars. So I’m just warning all my friends out there that use Grubhub, if you ordered delivery from here, cancel it, and order somewhere else.

Ordered from GrubHub an hour and a half before they closed. My order was confirmed. 15 minutes after the food was supposed to be here I called to no answer. Eventually I called GrubHub and they said they had the direct number to the manager who also did not answer. GrubHub refunded me and did a great job, but this restaurant is a piece of s***. So unprofessional to not even answer their phone.

After placing an order on seamless I called in 2 hour Td later to check on it and they haven’t even started making it. Still didn’t get the food can’t comment on it. Terrible delivery. Never will try again.

Worst delivery experience ever. I placed an order on GrubHub with delivery instructions. The delivery person obviously did not read my instructions as he came to the wrong side of the building and refused to come through the proper entrance. He was telling me to «hurry up because he had 4 other orders to deliver» which is UNACCEPTABLE. I called my concierge to kindly ask them to let him in and he called me two more times saying I was taking too long. He then refused to deliver my pizza to my door, which is HIS JOB and why I pre-​tipped him. He left with my food. I never got it. Due to this horrendous service I guess I never will try Salerno’s pizza. Given the reviews, I don’t think I am missing much.
Local businesses have a duty to offer better customer service if they want to stay in business and must only hire the best quality of employees.

I keep ordering from here on accident. Theres another pizza spot a few doors down i keep confusing this one with.
This place has a great slice and thats about it. I order zeppolis. stale. Chicken nuggets… hard a s rock.
Once ordered a margherita pizza. that was the biggest joke ever. They used was seemed like old over burned marinara sauce and last time i checked there was basil on margherita pizzas.
BE WARNED: anything aside from a plane cheese slice and youre jst asking for trouble.

Don’t come here to often and oddly enough I’ve eaten everything else but pizza. So for now I can’t comment on that. But I’ve had cold sandwiches, hot sandwiches, burger and fries. Everything was fresh and pretty good but I’m convinced the fries came out of a frozen bag.
I did order penne vodka w/​grilled chicken once and although it wasn’t awful I wasn’t thrilled. I’m not sure about their other entrees.

After being won over on my first order from Salerno, I have to deduct a star. Placed multiple orders in the past month and have found the quality to be hit or miss.
The pizza ranges from great to just okay. The cheese pie reviewed earlier was still the best by far. Broccoli pie barely had any broccoli, which was a bummer.
The bread they use for the heroes is good, but the sandwich fillings themselves vary in quality. Eggplant parm is decent and there’s plenty of mozzarella. Meatball parm is okay. Meatballs aren’t homemade though, if that’s what you’re seeking. Sandwich reminded me of the meatball heroes from Wawa. The chicken cheesesteak was not very good — just chopped meat with mozz sloppily thrown atop. Garlic bread was dry.
Ordered a Caesar salad and it was a sad container of grated Kraft parm, croutons that were mysteriously spicy — cayenne pepper, perhaps?, and iceberg lettuce. Yes, wimpy, watery iceberg lettuce. The dressing was tasty though and used on a salad I later made myself.
Delivery has always been very quick, though. Orders were here within 30 minutes all but once — that time, it took 45 minutes and delivery guy was super apologetic.
Salerno is still not bad by any means and I will continue to order from them, just likely not with the frequency I had before. Prices and delivery really cannot be beat; it’s just the quality that can be inconsistent.

This is a good, friendly and reliable local neighborhood pizza joint that’s no frills and good quality pizza.
They sell drinks and other sundries and there are a few places to sit inside.
The carry-​out and per-​slice prices can’t be beat; I go here again and again.
