Smart Start Academy

Finally a child care facility that is on the ball. I LOVE the fact they have an ap for your smart phone that allows you to monitor how your child is doing while they are there. They serve healthy food and keep your child safe, clean and well cared for. Best place anywhere around. I am so glad I found it. My child actually LOVES going here. It is a bit pricey for me, but reasonable for this area. It is worth every penny. They are professional yet personable.

My son is in the one in Hoboken. Love it! Very clean! Very professional! Teachers all went to college! Not just day care certifications! Far from those other places that are crowded with 2 many kids. Food is Organic– fresh– and the directors have proved that they are involved and truly care for their kids. My child now talks and is way smarter! Go smart start HOBOKEN! Diaz family.

After checking out all the preschools and daycare facilities in the JC area, once we walked in we instantly fell in love with Smart Start Academy. The school is clean, spacious and very well kept. The director Cesia Acosta and her staff are warm, friendly, knowledgeable and extremely dedicated to the children and the school. My son has been going there for a couple months now and has learned so much and comes home super excited to tell me about all the new things he has learned and about all his new friends. My husband and I are extremely happy we found Smart Start and we highly recommend any parent looking for a safe and awesome learning environment for there children to check it out!

When Smart Start opened up two blocks away from our house, I couldn’t believe our luck. The school was spotless, well-​organized, and full of all the learning centers and activities necessary for young minds and imaginations. iAs a current Masters of Education student and teacher, I know that Reggio-Emilio’s approach of student-​driven learning is a model of preschool education. It was exactly the type of environment I was seeking for my daughter’s social, emotional, and cognitive development.
From the time my daughter was 2 months old, she was either with me or a full-​time sitter or me at home, and so I was a little bit nervous about the transition to preschool. From the first week, it was smooth sailing. We started at only three days a week, but are full-​time, and she is loving every minute of it. She tells stories every day about what they learn at school and her friends. She tells me how much she loves her teachers. She can’t wait to get up and go to school each morning.
I can’t say enough about good things about the staff. They are kind and patient. Miss Cesi the Director is extremely accessible and responsive. The communication with parents is excellent. When my husband’s schedule changed unexpectedly, they immediately stepped in and were able to accommodate our need for more hours. My daughter has also had some set-​backs with potty training, and Miss Cesi and the staff have been so great with working with her to help get her back on track.
This place is a little unknown gem, but I have a feeling it won’t be for long. I’m just happy that I got in on the ground floor!

My husband and I toured every daycare and preschool in our area, and chose Smart Start. We’re in our second year, and our daughter loves it. She comes home with all kinds of great projects, and talks about her friends and what’s she’s learned. We all love the director «Miss Cesi,» she’s smart, kind, and very dedicated to the school. They use the Reggio-​Emilia approach to preschool education, which translates to students leading the learning. They cover the basics (colors, numbers, letters, etc.) but when our daughter asked where bread came from, they also spent a day learning about bread and how to make it. There was another boy who loved peacocks, so they spent a day learning about and making paintings of peacocks. For Father’s Day, they made a «Father’s Day First-​Aid Kit» — a box with all kinds of fun things for their dads to look at and play with when they miss their kids. There is also Spanish time each day, where they work on learning Spanish vocabulary. We’re very, very, happy, and highly recommend this school.
