The Murder Mystery Company in New Jersey

As other reviews said, we arrived on time (7pm) and the show did not start until 7:40. The event ended at 9:15 and our food arrived at 9pm — for some reason half the room was on dessert while my half of the room had not even received their mains. Horrible service, after asking three times for a glass of water I finally got it myself. The venue was also dirty and did not match the website pictures.
Now about the event — not at all worth the money! I was looking for a murder mystery with a fun backstory and a clever mystery to figure out. What I got was bad acting, not funny jokes, a corny backstory, and cheap props. I’m not looking for anything over the top, just to be entertained on my one night out a week. This was definitely a poor choice.

What a fun night! My sister and bought me tickets to a murder mystery dinner for Christmas and we waited until the weather got better to attend. We had a blast! The event was so organized and so much fun. It was in the upstairs of a restaurant with 8 tables and tables were split up into teams, so we sat and had to team up with perfect strangers to solve the mystery. It was amazing and we are already planning our next event. My only complaint is about the restaurant itself (see next review) but that had nothing to do with the fantastic work of The Murder Mystery Company!

This was definitely an experience. My boyfriend took me here on a Saturday evening as an early birthday gift. I was a sold out show. I was much fun. and entertaining. they preferred for us to dress vintage in which we did. it helps you get into character. Now here’s why I gave 3 stars. My boyfriend pay an extra $ 30 per ticket for VIP seating. I would recommend NO ONE do what he did. There was no VIP seating. We was seating in the middle of 4 other people that we did not know. Mind you this was all at 1 table. There is no stage. Also your not really watching a show, everyone is participating in the act as the actors walk around (because there is no stage). The food was limited. the drinks was a waste of money and they are over priced (pre– gaming is highly recommended). The dessert was terrible!!! it was a microwave brownie. very dry. very nasty… oh and the appetizer lol was 5 lettuces of salad. Sigh… If they put a little bit more time into there good and drinks this place could’ve been 5 stars for me… The pictures that they have on there site is not what it seems. They make it look very big when its really small and tight smh.

It’s 7:40pm now, supposelly the show starts at 7:00pm. My friends and I arrived at the location at 7pm and they serverved a salad as soon as we were seated. The salad contained 11 pieces of lettuce, half of cherry tomato, 3 slices of red onions. 40 minutes later no waiter came by to get our drinks order or añu kind order. All I can say this is extremely badly organized. Not sure if is worth wasting the time for an event that you’ll left seated on your table for 40 minutes unattended.
