I haven’t been here in 23 years. The food is still just awesome!!! The escargot is just Devine! Great service! They had entertainment which is unique in this area on a Sunday night. Beautiful dinner!

What a great night in a charming Italian find. They treat you like family immediately, love Cathy the bartender. Great music and a quaint dance floor. We experienced an opera singer who apparently has not yet been discovered. Dean Martin would have loved the place. The food was very good. I am from STL, and am a self-proclaimed toasted ravioli aficionado. Altobeli’s is homemade(not frozen and thrown in a french frier), very lightly dusted with breading, melt in your mouth wonderful. Goat cheese salad — yes! Lasagna… yes and a bit spicey. We all really liked it and will be back.

Fantastic place. They had an Easter buffet today that was delicious! 19.95 a person for salads, pork Marsala, chicken Francesca, stuffed mushrooms, cocktail shrimp, pasta, dessert and more! The service was top notch and the food was simply delicious. I didn’t have one thing that was bad and I had a lot. Will be returning for dinner and entertainment next time!

My wife and I came here last night for Valentine’s Day. The ambiance is okay on the side at which we got seated. The entrance looked a little cluttered, but I guess they are trying to keep it as authentic and Italian as possible. Our server was a little slow, it took him over 5 minutes to take our drinks order. For dinner I ordered the Beef Chianti and it was absolutely fantastic, could not have been any more tender. The pasta that came with it was a little dry and overcooked but the creamy mushroom and red wine sauce was perfectly seasoned and helped making the overall dish pretty delicious. If we had gotten a more attentive waiter, if they updated some of their décor /restaurant layout and if they laid off some of the heavy garlic on their garlic bread I may consider giving this place 5 stars for the price you pay to dine here.

I joined a group of 18 friends here Sat night to celebrate 3 January birthdays. We had a table in the Piano room. My husband I and had unexpected guests Sat afternoon, so we fixed a quick meal and were not hungry enough to eat at the dinner. We both ordered 2 drinks each($ 8 wine for me, $ 5.50 beer for him) Everyone else at the table ordered drinks AND dinner, which we had planned to do until the unexpected guests. When we got our check we were surprised to find $ 30 surcharge($ 15 each) for«Entertainment Fee» The Manager/Owner Al told us it is on the menu but we explained to him we did not order food so we did NOT even look at the menu. He would not even deduct one of the $ 15 fees and when I told him I would post this on Unilocal to warn other customers, his reply was«Go ahead, it’s a free country». Our entire table found this insulting and greedy(to say the least) and we will NEVER return Altobeli’s again. Suffice it to say, Al lost 18 customers with plenty of spending money due to his greed.

Last night was my second trip to Altobelis. This place has linen table cloths, candles on the table, and a dark sultry atmosphere. My husband, Mr B, wasn’t properly attired our first trip and felt a tad self-conscience. The food is fantastic, which is a good reason to try the place in itself. Both times I ordered the Trio Piccata, which is a traditional piccata with shrimp, veal, and chicken. The real reason to come is the entertainment. It is fun, yet subtle and classy. When we arrived around 7 pm, there was a guy playing on the piano. Throughout dinner, a singer periodically accompanied the piano player. Several patrons got up to dance. It was heartwarming to see a dad dancing with his 5 year old daughter. As we were walking out, the entertainers were playing/singing Garth Brooks Friends in Low Places and things were livening up. Fun times!

I have been to Altobelis a few times over the years and thought it was pretty good. We had our company Christmas party there last night and everyone had an amazing time. They had two private parties going on, live music and most tables full-all on a Monday night! Even with them being so busy they orchestrated our event flawlessly. The service was top notch, the set up was very nice and comfortable, the appetizers and wine were good. After the cocktail hour in our private room we all sat down and ordered from our event menu. There were 5 choices, all of which were fantastic. Everyone absolutely loved it. The cheesecake was one of the best I have ever tasted! I height recommend them for an event and will definitely be back!

Great place, loved the jazz music and singer. A little pricy but worth it. The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is great. Def recommend.

I usually skip over this place when choosing a local spot to eat. The live music is loud, the food is mediocre, and while the service is good, they are very disorganized and expensive.(Dinner for 1 – no bar drinks, but dessert: $ 43. Seriously). I guess I wouldn’t mind if the food was wonderful, but it’s not. It’s just mediocre. On a Tuesday evening at 7:15, the clientele is 45+. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. I had trio francese, which is shrimp, veal, and chicken franchese over a bit of angel hair pasta. The Caesar salad was good(for an extra 6 bucks) as were the oil & garlic dinner rolls that every Italian restaurant seems to serve these days. Again, it wasn’t bad. Just mediocre. It reminded me why I rarely come here.

Haven’t had Italian in a while, so this was a nice surprise where my company meeting was held… Everything was delicious and the setting was very quaint with a nice old style bar and piano/stage area… Check it out you will not regret it best Italian restaurant in town… Definitely going back for round 2.

Date night… this was our first visit to Altobeli’s. A little puzzled why there were so few people here on a Friday night. The live music was great, the server was and supporting staff were not. Felt like we were always being rushed. Never a smile of kind word during dinner. The food was C-. Its a shame. Another one goes off my list because of a server that doesn’t understand the value of making someone feel special. I work hard for my money… they don’t.

I’ve lived in the metro area for a number of years and this was the worst(non)dining experience yet. The hostess was unfriendly and seemed inconvenienced by my questions about the specials. The clientele was 50+ The piano bar belonged in an uncool 1960s off strip casino The waiter explained there was a $ 15 per person seating fee if you don’t order a main entrée. I wish(ex) patrons could recommend restaurants for Gordon Ramsey’s kitchen nightmares. Too bad I can’t give negative stars!!! Avoid at all costs!

I was extremely disappointed in this restaurant. We found it on Scoutmob and the reviews on Unilocal were average so we decided to give it a try. I was quickly impressed by the live music as they had a lady singing in one room which echoed very loudly into the next room. We ordered and I went to the restroom. This is where it went downhill. I assumed this place was old but they could at least renovate the restrooms. I first walked in and it smelled horribly. Then one of the toilets was leaking and the wallpaper was peeling. The walls of the bathroom stalls were dirty as well. I was nausea from the start. I got back to the table and the salads came out. They weren’t bad. My main course was the Lasagna. It was clumpy and hard in the middle. I didn’t understand. The server asked me if I wanted something else so I asked for the Eggplant Parmesan. I’m pretty sure the Eggplant was either still frozen or extremely over breaded. I was very disappointed and at that point in time I didn’t feel well. I usually love Italian food! I was so disappointed.

I was here, last night, 9÷21÷14 with a group of 6 people including myself. We had a variety of the items on the menu and everything was excellent or very good. The pricing was relatively inexpensive. It ended up being $ 75 per couple plus tip and we were drinking. Thus, I felt at was acceptable. Shrimp scampi — not the best I ever had, the shrimp were a little overlooked and the pasta was good, but the portion size was small. The eggplant parmigiana was excellent. The escargot was excellent — I didn’t try it cause it freaks me out but those who ate it loved it. Something about eating slimy snakes is just gross. The house salad was small but still very good. The chicken parmigiana was excellent . The stuffed portobello was excellent albeit a little small in portion size. The veal Marsala special was excellent, loaded with vegetables. The Caesar salad was excellent. They had a piano player who was good but the singer was very loud. I prefer to be able to talk and not hear loud singing but that’s me. She had a good voice. Overall I would return. I think you will like it also.

Came back this weekend for our anniversary and had an excellent meal and great service as usual. My only misgiving with Altobeli’s is that each performer(all of whom are impressive singers) has a handful of songs s/he does each time we’re there. I’d love to see some new songs mixed in. Not even necessarily«new» songs… just different from the go-to’s they seem to perform weekly.

Went here for Easter«brunch» and was a little disappointed in the lack of «br» in the brunch. It was all lunch items in the buffet. Had a nice selection of food though– some was just OK, some was great. I enjoyed the bruschetta, the spinach ravioli and the pork marsala the most. We were the first reservations at brunch/lunch this day so we had most of the buffet and the restaurant to ourself– which was the nicest part of the day. Service was good. Overall a nice brunch, but not something I would go back for.

You really feel welcomed here. This is a very nice place for a date night or special occasion. There were two singers at the piano bar and both were top class. The piano player was awesome and they have a small dance floor as well. The food tasted fresh and authentic. I guess this is where all the new york people go when they move to georgia.

The place has an intimate«rustic Italian» feel from the moment you walk inside. Service was exceptional and the food, although not the most authentic I’ve had, was on par with other, more expensive OTP restaurants I’ve tried. The wine list was decent, although it’s a bit misleading to have an empty magnum of Silver Oak behind the hostess stand when you don’t even offer that brand. Don’t expect any Super Tuscans or Napa fruit bombs, but otherwise the variety and quality is good. Once seated, we immediately got a basket of tiny rolls covered in garlic butter. The presentation leaves something to be desired, but they’re pretty addictive. I started with the caprese salad. The tomato slices were thick and juicy, and the mozzarella was fresh. O had the warm goat cheese salad, which she said was excellent. For mains, I had the veal saltimbocca. This is my litmus test for Italian restaurants, and I’m happy to say that Altobelli’s gets it right. The veal was extremely tender, the prosciutto was tasty, the sage was subtle, and the spinach in the middle of my plate was fresh. O had the ravioli special, which looked pretty good, but didn’t get the«When Harry Met Sally»(I’ll have what she’s having) response. Overall, this place is definitely worth a try and one that we’ll likely return to for rock solid comfort food in a non-pretentious setting.
