Wow Frontera has a new look and wonderful food. My family and loved the food. The service was outstanding, warm and friendly. What a great place to eat! Our sever’s name was Stephen. He made great suggestions and the food was hot and fresh.

I came here with a group of friends for lunch. They recently moved to a new location diagonally across the street from the old one that was next to the Kroger. The new spot is cleaner and more modern. It has some tv’s scattered around the restaurant with sporting events usually on. Frontera has your usual Mexican menu with lunch combos and regular combos as well for dinner. When you get seated, your server brings you chips and salsa with 2 kinds of salsa. There is an ordinary spicy red salsa and a chipotle flavored black salsa. We ordered queso and guacamole which were pretty good for a chain Mexican restaurant. The guacamole was on the chunky side with bigger pieces of avocado with tostada chips. There are free refills on chips and salsa but our server was pretty slow at keeping us from being empty. As for an actual entrée, I usually get a combo, quesadilla, or nachos. The combos are different and have everything from enchiladas and tacos to burritos. They pretty much all come with Mexican rice and/or refried beans. The quesadillas are quite large and come with sour cream, lettuce, and tomatoes on the side. They aren’t really on the cheesy end from my experience but you get a lot of meat. The supreme nachos are my favorite item that come with queso, refried beans, salsa, guacamole, sour cream, jalapenos, lettuce, and tomatoes. Very large portion for less than ten bucks. Frontera is a decent Mexican chain that you will always get what you expect. Not a bad a place to go to with a group of friends but service is just so-so.

They change the price to everything everyone we go. Also since it is a corporate restaurant the Managment does not care if u are satisfied. They stand on the side on their phone either texting or talking to someone. They are just in a rush to get u in and out not caring how u feel. Would rather go to to address Adobo around the corner. My last visit until frontera makes some changes.

So-so food. Typical cheap Mexican food here. This was my first time visiting Frontera in years since they moved to the new location. The new building is very nice, but the food quality is still average. Go to Tara Humata or Taqueria Los Hermanos for better quality food.

My family and I visited their new location across from Kroger this weekend after a soccer tournament, we wanted something good and fast. The interior was nice, more upscale than expected, plenty of TVs to watch football, and a live musical entertainer singing a mix of holiday music, r&b, pop, rock and jazz. It was kind of loud, but I’ll admit it was a nice touch. She even came over to say hello and talk about our alma matter(Noles). We were quickly seated, had chips and salsa on our table in seconds and drink orders were taken. Service was good and everyone at our table enjoyed their food. It was hot and as ordered. Drinks were refilled quickly and so were the chips. Seemed like a nice family atmosphere, but also a place for the adults to unwind. Seemed to be a good staff working and the manager or asst manager stopped by to check on our visit. With a series of not so good experiences in the area lately at other places, I was inclined to give this place their credit. We will be back and hope the experience and food is consistent.

Brought my family here for lunch after driving by and seeing the nice location. The interior was also quite nice, being both clean and well decorated. The chips and salsa came out quickly and things were looking good. Sadly, the chips and salsa were the highlight of the meal. I ordered the shrimp tacos while my wife ordered combo plate that had 3 items(chile rellenos, enchilada and a tostada). The shrimp on my taco were described as crunchy but were served grilled with no char. The tacos as a whole were dry and in desperate need of a sauce. My wife’s chile rellenos was nothing but a puddle of cheese and the smallest chile I have ever seen in this dish. The other items were also sub-par at best. This was a really disappointing visit as the location was close to my workplace and as I stated the building looks great from inside and out. Alpharetta has no shortage of restaurants to eat at as such I really see no reason in visiting here when there are far better options at lower prices.

I ate at Frontera yesterday afternoon for the first time. I have not heard great things, but wanted to give it a try considering it is just outside of the neighborhood I live in. Now, I wish I hadn’t bothered giving them a chance. It was a bad experience from the minute we walked in. We waited almost 5 minutes at the hostess stand to be seated, without being acknowledged by the employees buzzing to and away from the stand. Finally, someone let us know they would be right with us and then sat us. After waiting at our table for another 7 – 10 minutes, I had to go inside to ask if we had a server to take drink orders. We get our drinks, order our appetizer/meals…And wait. Slowest service. Keep in mind they were hardly busy! Drinks were not refilled once. Meals come. One of the two is wrong and took 10 minutes to simply re-plate without the lettuce, tomato, etc. Then the server comes to the table and with a touch of an attitude wants to know what was wrong with the dish. At the time the meal came, we asked for more chips and salsa to eat with the remainder of our queso. Nothing. Asked one more time. Nothing. Finally, I got up from my table to find my waiter to ask a third time for more. At this point, the queso had gone cold and wasn’t worth eating and it was just ridiculous. Asked for a manager. At this point, I got my salsa and refill from the server and a few minutes later the manager came to our table. The only reason I even give this place 2 stars is because the manager did the right thing and covered our lunch and was apologetic/kind about the situation. Can’t remember the last time I had such poor service.

Went here for lunch with some coworkers. Our server sat us down at a table in the corner, and just vanished. Completely. The staff essentially juggled who would attend to us — not one person stopped by our table more than three times for the hour or so we were there. We were initially sat down with a basket of chips and salsa. The salsa disappeared quickly, and when we asked for something spicier, we were brought a small to-go container… I should probably add that it took about 20 minutes for someone else to acknowledge our presence and take drink/food orders. To be fair, another table of 4 and a big group of about 14 or so were probably being handled in the same section, but at least taking drink orders earlier would’ve been nice. But even after they left, it took about 15 minutes for our checks to be brought out. The food was average. The place was loud(mostly cause of the group next to us, who would not stop talking). Service was the lousiest I’ve had in months. I’m not rushing to go back here by any means.

Yikes. So admittedly, it might be foolish of me to expect a restaurant that bills itself to be a ‘Mex mex grill’ to be anything close to authentic mexican food. But I was disappointed even as ‘run of the mill’ chain mexican food places go. First, you should understand that I come from Arizona, and I have a hispanic surname. It takes a lot to impress me with mexican food, especially when I can cook my own at home. Parking =========== Since they moved from their location in the Kroger’s strip mall, Frontera is a bit easier to spot from the street, and parking feels a bit more exclusive to their location. It’s pretty nice. Ambience =========== For what this place is, the ambience is definitely upscale and clean. They just moved to this location and it shows. They have nice booth seating, and everything looks clean and spacious. There are TV’s everywhere — so it almost feels like they’re trying to unsuccessfully compete with a sports bar. I’m pretty sure they’re not trying to be a sports bar, but we came here for an early evening dinner and there wasn’t a game on – so I can’t tell. Food =========== Here is where Frontera sadly falls on its face. I love that they accompany dishes with the traditional American«Lettuce-Sour-cream-salsa-guacamole» … but the dishes themselves are clearly trucked in from somewhere else and are flavorless. Before we ordered, I asked if they made their own tortillas, but they didn’t. It’s pretty clear that they don’t. They feature a ‘mexiburger’ on the front page of their menu. It’s just sad. I think you might actually be better off going to Costco and reheating some frozen mexican entrees from there. Service ============ Service was about average for a chain restaurant. Friendly, but nothing terribly special or unique. Price ============ For what you get, the prices are very expensive. Sure, portions are fairly large, but the thing you’re getting a large portion of isn’t a quality food item. It’s frozen food that is reheated! Summary ========= So sad. So expensive. They keep 2 stars for their new clean location and excellent parking.

This used to be my favorite local place for a quick decent meal, but not sure what happened. Even before the move I witnessed the bartenders running to Kroger for beer and wine. Obviously poor management. Today after visiting the new location for the first time, so disappointed! The white wine was hot, took forever to get water or chips, and hoping to catch the football pre game and satellite was stuck on a religious channel. The manager said they were having issues with the system but it turned out the remote had been lost and once located no one knew how to work it. Either they have new leadership and we can only expect more of the same or this is just a bump in the road. Hoping they get organized and back to the old Frontera that we all love!

This is for the new one opened up next to petco. Same average food but nice place. It’s the old Luciano’s which was better. The staff does not seem to know what they’re serving.

WORST restaurant EVER! We are new to Alpharetta, GA and looking for a great Mexican restaurant. Where we came from we ate at our favorite Mexican restaurant several times a month we liked it so much. My husband went to order and pick up TAKEOUT Frontera Mex-Mex Gril for our family of 4 on Sunday evening 8÷16÷15. He ordered/purchased over $ 50 worth of food and asked for a side of guacamole. They told him you can’t order guacamole(our favorite) by itself that it has to be purchased WITH chips for $ 12.00. My husband repeated the price back out of disbelief — a side of Guacamole should be no more than $ 3.95. The chips, when you eat at the restaurant are free, so should be a nominal charge(we can buy a huge bag of chips at the grocery store for $ 3.50). A rather rude man from the back confirmed it that chips and guacamole are indeed TWELVEDOLLARS. That was just the beginning of the bad experience. The food took forever, was dry and awful. They basically heat up frozen mixed vegetables and slop them on the plate as a side. They tasted watery and gross — like bad frozen veggies. The chicken was dry. No one ate much of their plate. To top it off the woman couldn’t run the cash register which made the already agonizing experience even worse. This place was so bad I was motivated to set up a Unilocal account and give my first Unilocal review so I can save you the yucky experience. Owner, if you’re reading this — you have some serious work to do. Whatever your initial inspiration was has long been lost. We will NEVER, EVER go back this place!

Great food!!! They start you off with free chips and salsa. Had a mango margarita and it was on point. I had the tacos de alambre and my girlfriend had the burrito califa. A lot of food for a good price. All of it was delicious. The only negative thing that I can say is that they messed up on my girlfriend’s margarita but the manager walks through to ask if everything is ok and when we mentions the bad margarita he replaces it immediately. Overall good service and food.

OK Americanized Mex. Nothing more to say about this place, although I do like their chips and chipotle salsa. That mess is good.

Came on a Sunday at 3PM. You could see that they only had a skeleton crew going, but you wouldn’t have known it. Our server was multi-tasking like crazy, but she remained extremely attentive, fast and friendly. The food came out very quick from the kitchen, we were quite impressed. Only three stars though, because it’s good, affordable Mexican food, but nothing that will blow you away. Atmosphere and bathrooms were clean, but a few things didn’t make sense, like the candy, toy and tattoo machines by the bathrooms. We will definitely come back again.

What can I say? I have learned to like the new menu! We actually had lunch AND dinner at Frontera today, it is that good. Thanks Caroline for taking care of us! I had a dish at lunch that was so good, I wish I could tell you the name of it so you could try it. It was El Paso… or something like that. It was chicken flautas with rice and this yummy cheese sauce. It was light, fresh and the chicken was perfectly seasoned, and I don’t usually like chicken very much. When we came back for dinner our favorite server, Miro, offered me steak tacos! Thus proving that Frontera actually reads and cares about their reviews. That really touched me, you always wonder if anyone really cares what you think. You are but one person, can you make a difference? Frontera is still my favorite place for Mexican food!
