I went here the night of my 21st birthday(so at 11pm or so waiting for 12). We ordered the layered nachos and the regular nachos. Both were tasty but ended up being soggy and cold pretty quickly. I’d say it’s what I would expect out of bar food. Nothing fancy. Other people with me ordered some cocktails that they liked while I waited until I could be served. It wasn’t so bad since there was a DJ and a pretty good atmosphere, although it was slow(it was a Wednesday night though). We ended up getting the wing specials that night which was two baskets of ten wings for $ 11. Definitely a really good deal, and it was more than we could finish! We tried many different flavors, but the Asian flavor was the best. I would avoid the garlic parmesan unless you love intense garlic flavor. Eventually I had a cement mixer shot(known as one of the worst shots to give someone on their 21st), and a complimentary green tea shot. I then had the tequila sunrise drink special which was pretty good and came in a cute mason jar. Overall, I would go again with a group for drinks because of the amount of specials they run and for bar food. However, definitely not the place for serious foodies.

A very good pub with very good prices. Monday night is by far their busiest night of the week because of $.35 wings. People gripe about the«rules» on wing night but the price is unbeatable and the wings are delicious. I will highly recommend making a reservation if you do decide to go on a Monday. They do other specials throughout the week as well. All in all, great spot to go with friends, especially in the Johnston/Smithfield area. Lots of TV’s, plenty of room, fair prices, quick service, and great food.

Best wing night in the area. 35 cents a piece for big juicy wings. I have dreams about their Caesar salad wings… loaded with creamy Caesar dressing and topped with shredded lettuce. They have so many flavor options, but those are my absolute favorite and I get them every week. Yes there are«rules»($ 2 water bottles only, no free refills, no takeout)… get over it. The wings are a steal! Plus it’s 21+ after 8pm, so if you go late you don’t have to deal with kids or college students. Real cheese curds on the poutine… win! Pretty much all of the cocktails on the menu are under $ 7, and on the back page of the menu they have monthly drink specials that run around $ 5. Be warned, most of the cocktails listed are sweet vodka drinks, but they have no problem making anything you ask for, even old school drinks. Did I mention, flaming scorpion bowls? :) Most of the time the service is fast, very efficient and on point. They keep«tabs» for everyone so that any waitstaff can take care of you and just add to your tab or cash you out. However, this system is pretty prone to screw ups on tabs. Don’t get separate tabs… just do one for your table and figure it out yourselves at the end. It will save a lot of time and confusion. Love that they have a juke box, so you’re not stuck with crappy music you don’t like all night. My only gripe is that it gets SUPER cold near the windows in the wintertime. Dress in layers just in case you end up seated there!

We love going to PJ’s. Its a good spot to go have drinks, watch the game, play keno and for some dancing at night. The food is good and great prices. Some of my favorites on the menu are the steak and cheese grinder, chicken quesadilla, wings and nachos. The drinks are strong and they serve scorpion bowls which are my go to drink. My boyfriend loves the Gratefuldead drink. The have great daily specials. We have gone for the $ 5 burger night, .35 wing night. The staff is attentive and always come around to check if you need anything. We also go to the other PJ’s in Cranston.

Monday night 35cent wings! Not worth it at all! They rush to accommodate so many people that the wings are not even cooked well. They were all fatty and my friend and I both got sick! I’ve been numerous times and each time I go I am not satisfied. Have to find a new place for wings.

Twice I’ve been here and did a double take at how cheap the bill was. This is a reasonably-priced area as far as food and drink are concerned, but PJ’s Johnston has a leg up. Best wing meat to price ratio. The sauces were a touchy samey, but they were all good. Crowd is mostly college to mid thirties — does get louder later on. Gets packed, but usually I can sneak to the back of the bar and just watch. No Gansett on tap, but otherwise pretty versatile beer selection for your garden variety watering hole. Also home to a plethora of cheap, sugary martini concoctions. Service is also very good, at least at the bar. There’s a good energy to this place, recommended for relaxing with friends. Would also recommend going earlier/during the week if you want to hold a good conversation.

I like this place a lot actually. Great beers, got a UFO glass for my choice in UFO Big Squeeze Grapefruit which was awesome. Probably ate the best Chicken Quesadillas ive ever had in a bar. Great wait staff, clean bathrooms and the live band was pretty awesome last night. Will definitely be returning to this location.

I’ve been here a few times and Its always busy in here. Save yourself some aggravation and park across the street. I haven’t eaten there yet so I can not judge based on the food but I have had many many many drinks there. The staff always are nice and welcoming. They make sure your drinks keep coming and stay full. The prices are very reasonable five dollar patron shots. Five dollar lemon drop shots. Seven dollar Moscow mules. These drinks I’ve seen at other places for much more. It’s definetly a local place and the staff knew the regulars which is awesome. It’s nice to feel welcomed especially if your like me and go out solo a lot. They even recognized me from being there a few weeks ago. So besides the reasonable drinks friendly staff you also have music I happen to love. It’s throwback hip hop jams mostly which makes me want to dance. Nothing beats knocking back a shot to Jenny from the block by jlo to make me feel like I’m in my twenties again. I enjoy this place and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great inexpensive night out.

Ordered the buffalo chicken wrap on wheat wrap and also curly fries. Tasted pretty good, the wrap was a tad bit spicy, the curly fries where nicely crisp. I enjoyed the food, came out very fresh. I wouldn’t mind coming back here again. I also had a few drinks the Sex on the beach was pretty good. Only thing that upset me was their juke box music would stop out of nowhere. And they don’t sell Hennesy or Remy Martin :(

Preface: I truly hope that I don’t get yet another phone call from the manager of PJ’s after writing this review. The last review I made was fair and truthful, and the phone calls that I received afterwards were quite discouraging, and almost threatening. It’s interesting how they figured me out from taking my reservation and calling me, instead of going through the Unilocal!App. – I decided to give PJ’s another shot as my friend and I were in the area and wanted to get a brew. Totally forgot it was wing night. Wish I had turned around when I got in the door, as now there are some ‘babysitting’ rules that just, well, are really almost insulting. No refills on soft drinks(OK, I can understand that – if someone came in and guzzled soda while having some wings, I can see losing money.) The kicker is though, they charge 2 $ for bottled water, and only on Monday nights. Here’s where that just goes all wrong. 1.) Water is a customary courtesy for patrons, at almost every establishment that I have ever dined at. Even Chipotle offers water for free to paying patrons. 2.) A fairly common tip when out drinking is to drink a glass of water between drinks to discourage overdrinking. 3.) What if you can not drink liquor? The other rules are almost as bad too – see my picture for the full list. There are many other establishments that offer Wing Nights(Trinity, I’m looking at you) and charge maybe 10 cents more than what PJ’s offers. Mind you, the wings are good, but the service still stinks – still working in teams, so constantly being asked if you are all set is irritating. Took a solid ten minutes to get our tab. The best though is that as soon as you order your drinks, they ask for a credit card, even if you plan on paying cash. Do they expect their patrons to refuse to pay or walk out the door? I would expect this – such as starting a tab, if I wasn’t sitting down to eat, but c’mon. Oh, and the music is great… if you want to feel like you’re back at the Complex. Three times, you’re out. Such a disappointment, as the wings are yummy. I would come back if the prices even went up to 50 cents a wing, and deal with the atmosphere, if the rules changed.

Nice staff, very attentive and nice. Fair prices($ 5 burgers on Tuesday with bogo miller lite). It’s not like the best food I’ve eaten but if you want food, beer, and TV they’ve got it. The wings are all amazing though. Try the pb& j wings. Or pb&j sauce with chicken tenders. With fluff! So good!

Decent Local Hangout PJ’s is in close proximity of my home so I have frequented this place a lot. I have trouble reviewing PJ’s, Billy the bartender is a great guy and treats me like a king when I go in, but I just feel like they lack items to offer and some nights are geared to college kids which I have outgrown. They have several types of wings on the menu but only a couple them are really good. Hint: Go with the Asian Spicy Wings They have food and drink deals everyday which is nice. They also have several TV’s to watch sports. Thanks

Came here on a Saturday night for the bruins game. I was pleasantly surprised I remember when this place was Balls a long time ago and haven’t been back since. Its pretty much exactly the same nothing has really changed. I thought it was too dark inside. I was sitting next to the taps and a few of them were light up taps and with the darkness of the bar and the brightness of the taps really just messed with my eyes, took a while to adjust to it. We were early so we had no problem getting a seat at the bar. They had a nice deal going on pitcher of domestic bar and a pizza for 13 dollars and pitchers go for 10 alone, so for a extra 3 bucks ?? no brainer. Honestly i was expecting some cheap frozen pizzas and they were nice thin crush and pretty good. definitely not what i was expecting. I saw there wing deal mondays with a bazillion wing sauces to try. Id really like to come back to check that out. but all and all its a nice bar, as we were leaving it was starting to get filled in pretty good. worth checking out for a few drinks with the boys or girls.

Went to Pj’s last night for the .35cent wing special and it was horrible. Chicken was rushed not seasoned and very soft. I’ve been there once before and it was ok but due to Monday night football and the wing special the chicken was not even worth the .35cents a piece :(I Like the one in Cranston Better although it’s much smaller chicken is always well done with a little crisp and well seasoned. Don’t get me wrong the staff is amazing at both locations but I won’t be returning to the Johnston location any time soon.

Went there tonight with friends Amy and Dan… newly married couple… YEAH ! We tried a few flavors of Chicken Wings… Thai Peanut Sauce, Honey Mustard, Asian Chili Pepper and Buffalo. All of them were outstanding. I liked the Thai Peanut Sauce and Asian Chili Pepper the best… They have close to 20 different flavors and depending on what you like… they are delicious… We also shared the curly fries and they were crispy, well done and not too greasy… Service is attentive and prompt. It does get busy due to Monday Night football, but we got there around 6PM and it was not too crowded. On Monday nights, the wings are $ 0.35 a piece and the pitcher of domestic beer is only $ 8 …a great deal… a great find… Saturday nights… they have a great special too… A large pizza and a pitcher of beer fo about $ 13.

Great local place, great staff, always greeting you when you walk threw the door. Food is excellent for a bar, not over salty like you’d usually expect, they always have great specials going on, I would try and avoid wing night seeing as it is very busy and usually a long wait to be seated, but all other nights have been great

Although PJ’s Cranston is located conveniently down the street from me… literally… PJ’s Johnston boasts a much larger location than it’s predecessor. In fact, if you plan on visiting a PJ’s location on wing night and/or game day, you are far more likely to get a seat if you head to the more spacious Johnston location. I was able to quite easily snag a table(with a prior reservation, but still) on a Monday wing night which happened to coincide with a Pats game last season. That’s probably unheard of at the Cranston location. I believe there were even some walk-ins that night that still got sat, so that’s a plus for those of you who don’t plan such things! The menu is the same as in Cranston(same awesome wings) as is the service level(solid). Parking isn’t bad, but during really busy nights, you may need to park across the street or a bit further down from the bar itself. Psst, there are actually bathrooms at both ends of the bar – to the right there are two bathrooms(one each for ladies and gents) and to the far left there is a single unisex bathroom. Keep this in mind for minimizing wait time. Some people don’t realize there’s another bathroom hidden away there. Now you’re in the know. You’re welcome…
