Great doctors and nurses. Their front desk staff could use a couple friendly smiles. Not as friendly as many many other Doctor clinics we’ve visited in Chicago where we used to live. Seems like they’ve been there a little too long, probably bored. Not a good look for the clinic.
But once you’re in the door the doctors are great. The nurses listen to you, very attentive.
The décor is dated and the rooms are really small and kind of awkward to stand/​sit in. Not very accommodating.
Still, after having to make the choice of changing our insurance we did not choose one compatible with Aschinberg Pediatrics because we will not be returning.
Having a child with a genetic disorder my husband and I are used to calling our clinic after hours when our son gets sick and getting same day appointments when needed. Unfortunately, we did not find that with this clinic, again because the front desk is in charge of appointments and such and well, they aren’t the easiest to talk to.

Unfortunately their policies interfere with great care. We do evidence based medicine and it was simply asking questions not trying to be critical. I just wanted Answers not opinions but unfortunately I received the latter.
I was disappointed in the bedside manner of most doctors and staff here. We will be returning to our pediatrician regardless of the drive

I second Erin on Dr. Ashinberg’s care and generosity throughout my childhood.
I also remember the aquarium and playing with the abundance of toys in the waiting room. He is a people-​person. He understands families, issues, and he gets personal with you. He never let my family down.
I’m sure when I have kids, I’ll take them to Dr. Ashinberg.

I went to Dr. Aschinberg since the day I was born — literally!
He was there the day I was born, and he was my doctor until I moved to San Diego when I was 15 years old. My family trusted him with all of our medical needs, and he was always very helpful to my mom.
When I was a kid, there were always fish in his office in a big tank. Later in life, I learned that fish have a calming effect on people. I think that’s true. He also had plenty of toys to keep the kids occupied (or pass germs — whatever. haha). His care to each and every patient and his knowledge was always appreciated. Even today, I remember him as my very favorite doctor, and wish I could go back. Trust Dr. Aschinberg with your family’s health needs.
