Garage Door Repair Jonesboro

I am so ticked off right now about the service (disservice) I received from this company. I called this company to have my garage door repaired. My garage door would not close all the way down but will just close partially and then reverse. When the technician arrived to my home to look at the problem, after only a couple of minutes he says I need a new garage door. He quotes me a price of $ 899 for the door plus $ 150 for windows; this is a single layer of steel door that looks and feels cheap! After I tried to negotiate the price with the technician and he refuses to lower the price, I called another company to schedule them to come install the door for me because their price was $ 200 cheaper and for a better door. But before the technician left, I had to pay him a $ 45 service call fee.
Okay later on in the day, after doing research on the web, I realized that cleaning the photo «eyes» of the garage door opener and realigning them would possibly solve my problem. So I cleaned the lenses with alcohol and readjusted the lenses and just like magic, the garage door was operating fine.
Either this guy is totally ignorant when it comes to repairing garage doors or he is a part of an elaborate scheme to take people’s money.
My reason for calling this company is for repair services not to be sold on a new garage door. I told the technician (or should I say salesman) that I can not afford a new garage door and that I did not want to invest the money for a new door when I am trying to put my house on the market to sell. I am so upset and will report this to the management or better yet BBB. I am hoping they will refund the $ 45 service charge, but with this bad experience I had, I am not confident that this company has the morals to even do the right thing. I advise all to BEWARE if you plan to do business with this company.
