Nice biker place. Yoda was really friendly and made me feel like family. Would have no problem bringing the whole family. Looking forward to trying the chow.

Rolling Thunder is a cool hang out for bikers. The owner, Roger, is very friendly and welcoming, and a classically trained chef to boot. This place should def be included as a stop for a burger and cold beverage when riding on scenic FM1431. Can’t wait until the indoor build-out is finished. But until then, there is covered outdoor seating — which is great for the central TX autumn.

It’s opened! Can you say Wagyu beef sliders? Rolling Thunder is a very cool, very fun place to hang out on a sunny afternoon, or breezy evening. The menu is burgers, fries, sliders, and daily specials, including egg salad! This is also non-gluten and paleo friendly. The beer is all local brews in cans and ice cold. The ambiance is for true bikers, but those of us who travel in four wheeled vehicles are also welcome. The building and lot were originally a local Jonestown service station and gas station. Roger Chan has taken it to the next level as a motorcycle-friendly destination, and honoring the famous Flying Tigers of WWII fame. FM1431 is a great ride from Cedar Park to Marble Falls, with beautiful landscapes, hills, and wildflowers in bloom year-round. Rolling Thunder is an up and coming roadhouse, and should be included as a meet-up stop along the way of a hill country ride, stopping for an excellent burger and icy cold beverage along the way. As a local note; those of us who live in the Jonestown/Lago Vista area have been waiting for a place like this to open for a very long time. Some of the other restaurants in the area can be hit and miss with the menu and the consistency and quality of the product. With Chan’s illustrious background as a chef and entrepreneur, we can expect to have excellent food, service and fun, friendly hang-out, for many years to come. Welcome to the ‘hood Roger!

So, this place isn’t open to the public yet… but it opened for us the week prior to the ROT Rally so we could check out what it is soon to become. Roger Chan is the owner of this establishment and I met him for the first time on this MC ride. He was a very kind fellow, with incredible stories, and I’m certain he would entertain me for hours. :) He and some guys made a few burgers for a little MC group who came up to check out his place. He gave us the tour of what is currently a hollowed out gas station. I cannot wait to see what it will look like when it is completed. He has such great plans, from a deck out back, to a killer bike for his road side sign. This will be a BIKERBAR, folks… so RIDETHERE!!! :) Lookin’ forward to the full opening!
