Went here for lunch and was very happy. Hard to give anyting 5 stars that isn’t mind blowing, but this place is above average on the food for sure. The interior isn’t winning them any style points, but if you want great food for a reasonable price you should check this place out. Would eat here agin for sure!

I ate lunch here on Saturday and it was wonderful. I had the panang curry with chicken. It was just the right amount of spicy. I asked the waitress to make sure the chef didn’t add any additional thai spices to my meal and it was perfect. I love curry and I enjoy trying new thai food restaurants. I will definitely be back to The Magic Noodle. The portion was large for lunch and had a lot of meat in it. I was very pleased over all with the entire experience.

The last time I had eaten here was almost 10 years ago. Figured it was probably time to go ahead and try it out again. And I’m glad I did — hubby and I had really tasty meals! Went on a Thursday night and the parking lot was pretty full. Inside, the restaurant appeared to very clean and neat. The service we had was pretty spotty — I felt like it took quite a long time to get waited on. Hubby and I were with another friend, so we were enjoying the company and so it didn’t bother us too bad. However, not sure if the restaurant isn’t normally that busy and was just unprepared, but I think 15 minutes before a server coming to take your order is about 10 minutes too long. But anyway, the food. We started off with some steamed dumplings. These were okay. Made with chicken and one of them had a pretty large bone piece in it which made me immediately not want to eat anymore of them. But they tasted decent prior to the bone incident. For my entrée, I ordered the General Magic Chicken which was fried chicken pieces in a super sweet sauce(like tamarind, if you’ve ever had that) … My friend got extra sauce because he loves it sweet. Mine was just perfect with the bottom layer only covered in sauce; otherwise, it would have been too much. But it was very good with a nice flavor. Hubby, however, won the award. He ordered the Pad See Ew with chicken which of course I had to sample. It was wonderful! Next time I am for sure getting that. I loved it. Not overly sweet or spicy; just perfect. Now that we live on the right side of town, we will be able to eat at Magic Noodle again without spending a lifetime driving. So I’m certain it won’t take 10 years to get here again. I will say as far as Thai food goes, I love Thai Time better, but for convenience to me, Magic Noodle will be just fine.

While I was in Joplin, my best friend took me out to her favorite restaurant. While I was there I tried this Mango fried rice and it was so good! Only place so far that actually serves Mango with their fried rice.

This is usually my top choice when I’m craving Thai food in Joplin. I’ve never had a bad experience and I’ve been here many times over the years. Their general chicken is great but the chicken pad Thai is slowly becoming my favorite. Service is quick and friendly; prices reflect the quality and quantity. Portions are huge and I usually end up with leftovers. The Thai iced tea is a must try!

The wait staff were quite cold and abrasive, while the food was opposite, which is why its a two star instead of one.

Always get the Chicken Panang Curry– add bamboo– and it never disappoints. Better flavor than the other Thai restaurants imo.

I am giving a 5 star rating based of the food! Wow, best Thai food we have had here since moving. Everything tastes very fresh and huge portions. We tried the honk kong fried rice, chicken and shrimp glass noodles and mango sticky rice. Yum yumm yumm The service leaves something to be desired but we will be back often for the food alone

We just moved here from Dallas, as I was skeptical about the quality of local food in Joplin. To my surprise this Thai restaurant provided authentic, fresh, tasty food full of flavor. Highly recommend this place. Ambiance is nice and authentic, ample parking space, courteous staff and quick service. I would suggest this place for a family night out.

The crispy chicken teriyaki was great! Portions aren’t as large as other Thai restaurants, but it worked well for me. I was full and even had some left over. My husband had the bbq chicken and was also pleased. Pricing is good and service was fast.

Very nice place. Waitress was attentive. Had the egg rolls and Thai BBQ chicken. Both were very good. Would definitely return next time I’m in the JoMo area.

My husband and I recently moved to Joplin from the Northeast and have tried several Thai places in the area since we are thai lovers and this is by far the most authentic thai and with the biggest portions. I would recommend over the other Thai places in the area.

Nice servers and cooks, food is ok. Went with some friends, decent. Have more chinese food items than authentic thai food. Will not try again, my heat loving heart just wants real Thai food.

I have recently made the switch to The Kinaree being my favorite Thai place in Joplin. Magic Noodle is still great, but you get a better value are Kinaree. Same great taste but more food for less money.

I went with a small group for Sunday lunch. I covered the check for 5 of us. Our check ended up being nearly $ 80, for LUNCH. Two of us split a dish, meaning we only ordered four entrees(that range around $ 10 a piece). When I went to pay, I questioned the amount about 3 times. Our waitress kept pointing to our ticket(a piece of paper with her handwriting) explaining that our check was, indeed, $ 67.05. After arguing for a few minutes, I decided to just let it go and figured that one of our entrees was much higher than the others. I left a 20% tip in good faith. Turns out, she had included a 20% tip already to our ticket without making me aware, and didn’t proceed to tell me that while arguing about the total OR while she watched me do the math and write out the ADDITIONAL tip. This means that I left her nearly $ 25 for a tip for mediocre thai food and dishonesty. Food was okay, but nothing compared to Kinnaree or Thai Time. Definitely will not be coming back to a business that practices such poor customer service. Spend your money elsewhere.

We have been here two times in one month. We love it! The outside décor makes it look a little on the cartoony side, which made me doubt the quality of the food, but once I ordered and tasted it, I was very pleased. I have ordered Ginger Perfect Chicken both times and it was awesome! The chicken is flavorful and tender. We also ordered the fried tofu and crab rangoon’s. I have to say that I was less than impressed with both of them. Specifically the tofu. It was tasteless. If the sweet/sour sauce was more of a peanut sauce I think that would help make it pop more in my mouth.

I’ve eaten here for years and tried almost everything on the menu. I’ve taken tons of friends and family members here, almost all of which loved it and many of which are now regulars themselves. Despite an obnoxious review from 2011, not a single one of us has ever had food poisoning from here. I eat here every chance I get, and I’m not the least bit worried. There, enough about that. Their food kinda has its own personality. They accentuate Thai flavors(especially the sweet ones) and textures friendliest to the American palate, but don’t take it too far. For example, they don’t use the bottled red goop that almost every Thai place in SW Missouri puts in their pad Thai. And despite that same obnoxious review, spaghetti noodles are just one of three options for drunken noodles, including traditional wide rice noodles under the traditional name: pad kee mao. They offer the standard dishes and a few specialties, but the menu is actually full of delicious, Thai’ed-up versions of common Chinese-American dishes, most of which are far better here than just about any of Joplin’s Chinese restaurants. They also make a few decent Japanese-ish dishes, but it’s not really fusion. The staff are Thai and the food is definitely more Thai than anything. Just one negative thing: I haven’t eaten shrimp here in years because it tasted kind of funny when I first started eating here, but for all I know, it’s fine now. Haven’t checked, don’t care. The dishes I order are fantastic. Don’t even want shrimp.
