Shadow Hills Country Club

This January my husband and I hosted my fathers 80^th birthday celebration at Shadow Hills Country Club. The staff was exceptional and went way beyond the call of duty to assure the party was a hit! The entire banquet was filled with love and perfection. As Maya Angelou said «people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people never forget how you made them feel. I assure you my friends, family and most of all my father will never forget how this beautiful facility and its amazing staff made them feel! It’s very clear they are passionate about what they do.

Had a wedding here and even though the backdrop was gorgeous and the wait staff was über friendly during the wedding the members of the club are very snotty (which is expected and a club) and not only that, but because we were having our wedding there (and spending thousands of dollars) we thought we could grab lunch while setting up the day before the event. To our surprise we were turned away because we were not wearing «proper attire». I understand policy, but we wanted to buy lunch and take it back into the venue, plus we were setting up. What were we going to wear? A ball gown and suit… ridiculous if you ask me.
The worst part was we had gifts stolen during the reception. The staff did not set up the gift table inside (liked asked) and in turn many of our cards were open and missing money and gift cards from friends and family. When we called the venue a few days later after noticing the gifts the staff was less than cooperative in helping us figure out who and what happened.
It was very unfortunate that a moment that is supposed to be one of your happiest was ruined because of others.

We had a great meal at the country club. I tried the grilled chicken sandwich and it was good. Service was excellent and prompt.

Shadow Hills is a private country club on the outskirts of Eugene. They have just recently built a brand new club house and pro shop. It’s a gorgeous building and they have really upgraded the facilities and grounds since I had been here last, over 8 years ago. The golf course is in great shape and they have nice practice facilities that cover your long range shots, sand, chipping, and plenty of putting green space.
If you have a family, they have a nice pool area, although didn’t use it on this day. Probably my favorite upgrade is the awesome patio area overlooking the 18^th green where you can enjoy a nice beverage after the round. I was impressed with the tap selection; somewhere around 10 – 15 different taps of local beer with the «sophisticated» Stella as well.
