Ate dinner here last night and I can recommend it strongly. My husband’s cab driver recommended it to him and I found it independently. We started with both the coconut shrimp and the Portobello fries. Boy, do NOT pass those up. They are hands-down one of the best apps I’ve had. Not oily or greasy at all. Dinner had the boys eating five King Crab legs with fries. The crab legs were huge and meaty. I tried s few bites, and, while the crab was tasty, I’m a Dungie girl and its crabbing season back home so nothing can compare to that. Overall a good experience. I’d go there again. Service was prompt and friendly.

Used to work here used to love it today dissapointed. Hoping for a better tomorrow. Had the portabella fries, coconut prawns, calamari and steamer clams, all fried all with little flavor. Steamers were okay, ate all the open ones. Hoping for better food if we try it again.

Try everything! It’s all so good. Great view over the pier and everything we tried was awesome. Are there 3 times during our 5day stay in Juneau. Customer service was also a plus!

I came here roughly a week ago with my wife on our honeymoon. We were with one of the plethora of cruise ships that were in port. We had been recommended to try Hangar on the Wharf by one of our close friends who comes up here frequently. They eat dinner nightly they told us and that we wouldn’t be disappointed. After a day filled with touring the city and seeing all that Juneau has to offer, we were starving. We were fortunate enough to get a cosy seat in the bar so we could see out across the water. Absolutely gorgeous. My wife ordered fish and chips where I got the king crab boil. Oh my goodness. My mouth was salivating, as I devoured every bit of it. Accompanied with an Alaskan Amber, it was the perfect meal. I’ll recommend coming here to anyone.

If the cruise ship has gotten seriously behind on getting passengers back on board via tenders, this is the place for you. Good food brought to you by an attentive staff(inside). Nice selection of draft beer. But most importantly, if you take a table at the edge of the roped off area, you can drink and watch the ridiculous line of fellow passengers waiting to get on a tender. Indulge a bit and when the line shortens, finish your drink and ride back to the cruise ship.

It was recommened that we try the Hangar for dinner. The location was perfect as the building was close to where we would be and on the water. We even lucked out with a window seat. The food was absolutely delicious. I ended up with the salmon /halibut combination plate. It was so good. Our server was good, not great since he didn’t return often but it worked for us.

Great atmosphere and they were able to seat our party of 3 quickly. I ordered the first mate platter that came with charbroiled halibut and salmon that was really good. Wish there was more fish on the plate! Finished off with a grasshopper mud pie cake. Overall good experience and service was alright.

This is a pretty high volume restaurant that moves things along at a pretty quick pace. Not a place where you can go, sit, and relax over a nice leisurely meal. Our food was good and they have a good beer, wine, and mixed drink selection. It is a bit pricey, but, not unreasonable. good location.

Coconut prawns and the Italian calamari… Yum! The pineapple marmalade for the prawns is excellent but I didn’t much care for the orange one. Great bar service and friendly bartenders also. Kitchen is open late too which is a big plus!

Had the Halibut and chips. The food one its face was about a 3.5. But I give it 4 because the view is amazing and the service is good. The«chips» taste like every other fry you get from a burger joint or steak house. Thick cut and crispy on the outside(for the most part) and soft on the inside. Not bad, just not special. The halibut was a little over battered for my taste. Such a great piece of fish deserves to stand out. Also it was just a little overdone — chewy and dry and some spots. But it was still really good, just not the best I’ve had in Juneau so far.

Spent 5 days in Juneau during April. The Hangar by the Wharf was one of my two favorite restaurants there. They have a great selection, and the food is well prepared and delicious. On one ocassion I had the Ahi salad, and on another I had the Ginger Salmon. Both were really good. Great service. Highly recommended!

This was an awesome Juneau spot on the water. Visiting from Portland off tourist season it was calm and quiet and out waiter was awesome! Lots of funny stories to tell and very down to Earth. I had the halibut melt which was a delicious branch off from a tuna melt. Cole slaw was awesome as a side. Pretty good choice for my first taste of Alaskan food.

Large Portions, a beautiful view right over the water, nice staff, good beer. It’s kind of hidden, but well known, so just ask a local where to find some great fish n chips. It’s located directly across from the bus terminal for a cheap and easy ride back to the airport area.

Has to be one of the most delicious places I have encountered, friendly staff, wonderful atmosphere. The view overlooking the harbor is breathtaking. I will always eat here.

The view of the sea planes was the main reason we went there, but the food was very good. Hubby liked the halibut and chips. I loved the coconut prawns and chips. Bith our girls had the fish & chips from the kids menu. They have a decent beer selection which doesn’t hurt. The waiter was very attentive; the hostess was a little snippy with my husband when he asked about a table with a view stating something to the effect of «all our tables have a good view» when we wanted something outside with a view, but none were available, so we had to sit inside. We would eat there again if we’re ever in town.

The Hangar on the Wharf was a great place to eat because of the great service, menu variety, and ultimately the view. With options to eat indoors, or outside on the deck, you are able to go and eat some great food while taking in the relaxtion. Additionally there is a bar area where you can go relax and watch various sports live. The crowd is very friendly mixed in with local, and tourists. During tourism season it can get packed in there but the service provided by the staff allowed us to feel like we were the only ones in there venue. Next time I am in Juneau, AK I will be sure to stop by The Hangar on the Wharf for a bite or a drink. Hopefully weather permitting we will be able to be on the deck kicked back enjoying the views as well. Great place to eat or drink!!!

A great place to eat and drink. Across from the hotel I stay at and its been a tradition for me for 10 years. All the food I’ve had has been great. I like the coconut shrimp and captains platter the most. Excellent fish, fresh sides and lots of different beer to choose from. The staff changes, but everyone has also been friendly and well trained. Almost forgot the seafood chowder, that’s really good to. And the view is fantastic. Pool tables upstairs and live music occasionally.

From the outside, I would think this was a tourist destination, but we had a couple of locals tell us they come here for drinks, and it a cool place to hang out. We sat in the bar tables outside which had a perfect view of the seaplanes that were coming in and taking off. They had a good beer offering. We weren’t really hungry, so we just had some snacks — Salmon Chowder and the Alder King Salmon Spread. Both were delicious, and we did feel kind of touristy ordering the salmon based dishes, but we were glad we did. Wish we had more time to just hang out and enjoy the people and food.

Spitzen-Restaurant in Juneau.
