Very enjoyable atmosphere. A huge mix of different types of training — more powerlifting than I expected. The locker room(men’s) is clean with couches and a tv(FOX news seems to be the channel of choice). 3,4 shower stalls are available and a steam room . There are plenty of cardio machines and a decent space for stretching and prehab/posthab. The weight/machine area is just about one of the cleanest I’ve ever seen. They seem to be very proactive about maintenance of equipment. I even saw staff members re-racking weights ! I’m always greeted with smiles at the front . The only knock(and its minuscule) is the congestion of the weight area. It can get cramped– but this is an extremely small issue . Overall I’d say there’s a lot of pride taken at this place and it shows.

Was a member for a year. There have been some major issues with the AC and cleanliness lately. I was tired of hearing that the part was on order for the AC since May. Granted the more people in a gym working out the warmer it will get as the sun gets higher, but that’s when you bite the bullet and turn the temperature down a few degrees. Also the floors are not being vacuumed enough, when you pick up dirt crumbs on a weight lift it over your head and it falls into your face is not cool. There are too many other choices starting to pop up to stay.

If you guys follow me you know I visit more gyms than well, almost anyone. I travel and can’t miss a workout. From muscle beach to Equinox to hole in the wall Meccas for those of us that are really nuts.(I’ve left the gym twice in an ambulance and had to have my cornea shaved to remove rust from one really old school gym) This gym is one of the better gyms I have visited.(It is also the first gym I ever lifted a weight at some 14 years ago). It is nothing like the gym I signed up at after my senior year of high school. Recently remodeled, it features a full smoothie bar, a wide assortment of RTD options, kids club, sauna, class rooms and a rather robust assortment of machines. I’m especially fond of the rarely found plate loaded pec deck. Oooooh and the locker room area looks like it game out of a Roman bath house. This is not meant as a burn — I mean really nice. Couches with flat screen tv’s and actually clean toilets?!? No way? Yep. The only negative, it’s a little small but compared to LA Fitness — well you can’t compare.

I just worked out with a personal trainer and she easily made the best impression of any I’ve ever worked with. While I consider myself somewhat athletic, she really worked with me on my form. So when I do weights, I’m not wiggling around so much. She spent so much time with me. She gave me a specific diet, weights, and cardio bootcamp plan that I should follow. Plus I don’t appear like a wimpy girl when I walk to the«boy weights»(they still kind of scare me). The goal is to be marathon-ready come October. The gym itself is 3 star worthy, the 3rd star is for the free classes. It would be 4 stars if spinning was included in the«free classes» but it’s not. So while I love my cookies, pizza, and Italian food — I’m trading them for egg whites and Whey protein(eww!) for the next 6 weeks. One cheat day a week. Wish me luck. Updates to follow.
