Great customer service, and my nails were on point! They were so kind to my little girl who tagged along with me to my appointment. I was a walk-​In for a full acrylic set and I was seated right away. If there were any criticisms I would say the cleanliness of the salon could be better but all in all it was a great experience.

I love this place !! Totally recommended it was my first time there and I had a great experience !! I recommend Nina she did my acrylic nails and love them she also did my eyebrows I’m not going to lie I was a little nervous because it was my first time getting eyebrows wax but I did even hurt she did a wonderful job she gave my eyebrows a better shape ! I’m totally coming back to this place ! Also great costumer service !!

I am out in Hawaii visiting on the Kbayside and I just loved the attention to detail they gave me. I was here for a color change on bothy hands and toes and they hooked me right up. I thoroughly enjoyed that there was no wait and they gave me what I wanted.

This review is based on customer service quality. I received no services. I walked in and there was one gentleman getting a hair cut, a young lady lounging listening to head phones and a few people just hanging out. I asked if they could do a full gel set. An older woman said yes and the young girl got up to do my nails. I sat there for almost 10minutes while the two women chatted over my nails in a foreign language. I finally said never mind and walked out. They weren’t even talking to me but to each other as they looked at my nails.

Been going here for years. Love the people and the quality of how my nails look for the price! A lot of places will over charge or not do a good job. Highly recommended.

I’ve come multiple times for a variety of things: hair, nails, eyebrow waxing, pedicure — whatever you need they can do it.
Nails: I really like when Nina did my nails for prom — she’s really skilled and pays attention to detail. I also like cal gel nails: this shop is one of the few I know that does cal gel for a good deal ($). While other shops may overprice them, this shop is like only $ 25. Considering that all the materials and the time spent into the nails are still high-​end/​professional, it’s definitely worth your time.
Eyebrows: Nina is also good at waxing eyebrows as well as my «muustache.» The lady running the shop is also very nice and does eyebrows too.
Hair: the majority can do hair, but I really liked it when a dude named Moses did my hair. He was very good with cuts. The lady who did my prom hair was really good too: nice and shiny and curly just like how it was in the picture.
In addition they’re really good concerning color: I went to get my hair back to its original color after a… unfortunate highlight job from another place. It looked great after.
Overall this place is really good and I definitely recommend it for those in Kailua or just the general Windward Side.

Just left this place extremely pissed off. I go in to get my eyebrows done, reshaped etc. She ends up waxing around it and tells me to grow my hair out. Excuse me, I came here to get them shaped. Not to mention, it’s not like I have no hair, because my eyebrows are bushy, to include a unibrow. Then I can’t tell her anything because no one in there speaks damn English. Such a waste of my money. I could’ve waxed around it myself.
Stupid enough though, I give them a second chance and go back the next day to get my nails done since they are right by my job. I go in asking for a French Gel manicure and get assigned someone that works extremely slow (cant remember her name). I thought maybe she’s just slow because she’s thorough, but turns out after she put the base coat on that she couldn’t even paint the French line on my nails and someone else had to step in. Once the second lady is done, she steps back in to put the top coat on it and finish. The next day, the Gel peeled right off my nail like a sticker. I’m not sure what product she used on my nails, but I’m pretty sure a Gel manicure is supposed to last at least a week. They need to provide better training because both services were absolutely NOT up to par.

I was tired of driving to town just to do my nails. Looked on Unilocal and came across Aikahi Nails. Read the reviews and figured I would make an appointment with Nina. She was able to take me within the next hour.
Nina is amazing! She understood what I wanted and really pays attention to detail. She was also very friendly and made me feel comfortable. She is my go to nail tech from now on!

I got an above the shoulder haircut by Kim and it is exactly what I was looking for with angled, side swept bangs and had my hair thinned too. The shampoo turned out to be a relaxing scalp massage and the blow dry/​styling was perfect. I will definitely be going back! The salon was a bit cluttered, but for a great haircut it’s easy to overlook!

My family and I live 5mins away from the salon. So I’ve been going for years. I mostly get my eyebrows waxed here now. For $ 12 you can’t go wrong. And the owner and her daughter do them perfect ever time. I don’t have to tell them how I want them, they always remember for me.
A few years back I started taking my younger sister with me to get her eyebrows waxed with me. Needless to say I’ll be going here for that same service for years to come.
I’ve also had pedicures, which I quite enjoy as well.

3 minute hair cut that cost 10 dollars. Terrible hair cut… Went to g’s to get it fixed.

Moses is a diamond in the rough! I’m so glad I finally found someone in Kailua that will do my hair and listen to what I’m saying. He is humble and doesn’t charge outrageous $$$. He shouldn’t be working at this salon but it makes it that much better because he does and you can get your toes and nails done in one trip. I really enjoyed my mani/​pedi too!!! Don’t let the front of this salon fool you!!! Go in!

Moses Cho at Aikahi Hair is incredible! I’ve been seeing Moses for years; from his start at Salon Blanc to now, there’s still no one I trust more. I live in town and make a special trip out each month to go to this quaint little salon in Kailua (I always love my little adventures out of town)! Moses delivers an elevated experience that resonates throughout this small, homey salon. My last time in, I had Nina do my brows (not something I typically do with sensitive skin), but she was extremely hospitable and warm, and did an excellent job. You definitely get MUCH more than you bargain with all their services at this salon, and is the epitome of the phrase ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’!
Great prices, amazing service, satisfied client.

I go to Vivian for my nails she makes them super cute and it last forever; gel nails! This last time she did make me bleed a little but was apologetic. I have been to several other places but I really enjoy her work

Went here for a quick mani on my lunch break. First impression was okay, it’s not the cleanest salon but they were very nice. $ 16.00 for a basic manicure which isn’t to bad. They have lots of colors to choose from. Girl listened to me and didn’t file the top of my nail beds like I asked. I liked the way she shaped them as well. Only complaint is the paint job. It’s okay but around my cuticles is bad. She did clean up with acetone but not very thoroughly. Not sure if is go back. It was good because it’s convenient.

I pretty much only came here because I heard that Moses (formerly from Salon Blanc in Town) relocated to this salon.
As one who thinks driving to Kaimuki from Town is quite a drive, I think the fact that I was willing to drive out to Kailua just for a haircut speaks to how much I love Moses’ work and how I trust no one else (trust me, I’ve tried other places only to come back to Moses).
At my last few haircuts at Salon Blanc, Moses was giving me «dry cuts», which is basically just a hair cut without a shampoo/​conditioning treatment. I like it because my hair tends to change when it gets wet; so I rather see what my hair looks like after it’s cut in its natural, dry state. At Salon Blanc, I used to pay $ 55 for these cuts (shampoo or no shampoo), whereas Moses at Aikahi Hair Salon charges $ 30 for dry and $ 40 for wet. What a steal!!!
Of course, his work is phenomenal. I have super thick, coarse hair, which is very finicky to weather and many types of haircuts, often frizzing out on me. A wash and wear type gal, only Moses has been able to attain a look to mask these issues of mine without any styling products. And if you get a shampoo, you’re in for a treat!; Moses does the best scalp massages when shampooing/​conditioning hair!
Can anyone suggest yummy places to eat in Kailua? Because it looks like I’ll be going out there a lot more often now!

Went in and got a gel full set. Came out to around the normal $ 45. SUPER impressed with how well she did– paid close attention to detail, no accidental nicks, and asked me every step of the way if I was happy with her work thus far. I got seen right away, but there was a short wait for all the military guys getting their hair cut. My tech said that Sundays are usually very busy on the barber side. I watched several women getting their eyebrows waxed so after my nails were done I had mine done too.
I’ll definitely be back in a few weeks for a fill and possibly a pedicure too!
