The Source Natural Foods

This is a totally legit natural food store. It is a tiny store but they utilize the entire wall space, in fact they carry things I’ve never seen before. They have these tinctures/​liquid vitamin solutions that can aide you in any ailment, from ‘quit smoking’, to ‘household bleach detox’…They’ve just about covered anything you can think of. They even carry Do Terra essential oils which I’ve never seen sold at any store.
Also, just for fun, if you have Netflix, check out the documentary The Source Family. Pretty interesting stuff.

As a mom, yoga teacher, and fitness lover I find myself here twice a month. Whenever I hurt, am ill, or need a supplement I come to the Source. I can always count on friendly service and knowledgeable help. The owners are so sweet and this local family owned biz while small packs a punch of goodness and health. Leaned about many new topical creams that aid in recovery and am very happy with all the recommendations.

This is O’ahu’s best kept secret when it comes to health food stores. It’s a tiny spot but it literally has everything you need to live an awesomely organic lifestyle. From beauty products to a well rounded produce section I can find almost anything I am looking for. On top of that they love to tell you everything they know about their products. The owner is such a kind and very intelligent man but he doesn’t make you feel like he doesn’t have time to talk or he’s too good to help you. He really wants to educate everyone that walks through his door about organic products and the NON-​GMO movement and so on. A few of my favorite things at this place are: the kids toy shopping carts and register. This is an awesome little play area for children while their parents are shopping. Mind you my 2 year old somehow climbed into the cart and proceeded to race down the aisle but still, it kept him busy. They also are the only ones in Kailua that currently carry Organic Valley French Vanilla coffee creamer which is my husband’s favorite. They carry delicious cookies, chips, and have an awesome dried herb section in the back of the store. Parking is limited outside but there are still about 4 or 5 street stalls. They are also the only Certified Organic Health food store on the island. I really love this little place. Support local and buy organic.

YAY this place! I was looking for a new spot to fill my homeopathic and supplement needs and this place came up. I ventured in to see what they carried because a few other places in town are more an organic grocery which is cool, but I needed more options. So into this spot I went and, like I said, YAY this place. They had EVERY SINGLE vitamin I was looking for (I take a lot of daily vitamins) and they also had some produce, aromatherapy products, which I was looking for also.
I chatted for awhile with the VERY helpful staff. They were so nice, and so lovely to talk to. I think I stayed 5 min after my purchase was made and just kept on yapping with the lady that was in there.
If you’re looking for an all natural store that will definetly carry whatever it is you’re looking for, this spot has it.

I was referred to The Source and very happy I made an appointment to see Karen. When I saw the Standard Process on the shelf I knew that I was on the right track. My Father, a physician and later natural healer, believed in many of the products available in this store. I am not saying modern meds don’t help, there is a place for them too, however with Karen’s knowledge of 40 year or so, I felt confident in her muscle testing as it worked well with my understanding of how energy is applied to healing. Refreshing to know indeed there is a «Source» I can feel confident in turning to.

Watch out, people! Karen loves to go around trying to convince unsuspecting new clients that they have a thyroid problem and she will personally pick out a lot of expensive products for you! That happened to me, several hundred dollars later and a full range of tests after, I have no thyroid issues.Period.
She will look into your eyes, at your tongue, pull your arm out to the side, tell you to hold it as firmly as possible while she pushes it down. If you are lucky… your thyroid is weak and you NEED to do something about it!
She should not be allowed to do in her home, much less her store. I have not gone there again. There well meaning people in this world, but she has crossed the line and a lot of doctors in the area are disgusted by this. VERY UNPRO​FES​SIONAL​.So be careful!

I love and appreciate locally-​owned stores and I was pleasantly surprised to find this natural foods store in Kailua. The store is pretty small, but has a lot of variety to offer whether it’s in their frozen, fresh produce, or canned goods sections. They also have a ton of of supplements available and the owner, Karen, knows SO MUCH about health and nutrition. She’s a great resource if you don’t know much about these things… which I certainly don’t.
One great tip was to cook in Coconut Oil. It’s one of the healthiest oils to cook in and it also adds that coconut-​flavor to your eggs or meats. :-)

Small space limits your choices, but they certainly pack it in. They offer organic eggs and meats. I still go in sometimes just to look at the owner with her HUGE lips tho… wierd i know.
