We were encouraged by other Unilocal reviewers to go here instead of staying on the resort for our massages. And we were SO GLAD THAT WE DID. Dawn and Renee each treated us to a fantastic 60-minute massage. They were tremendous. Good music, good conversation (if you wanted to chat) and most importantly, great skills with both masseuses.
Most of all: the massages we got at Blue Dragon were half as expensive as we would have paid at the hotel spa. What a great deal!
Thank you Dawn and Renee — keep up the great work and we’ll see you the next time we’re on the Big Island!

The massages are wow!!! I’ve had massages in a lot of places and this clearly was one of the best. They have no fixed list of what they are going to do. They listen to what you are looking for and customize the massage accordingly. My husband got the traditional Lomi Lomi with a Swedish combination and Renee did a fantastic job. During my facial Dawnn worked a little on my shoulders and neck, hands and feet while the face pack etc was drying. I would have liked some massage on my face though. This place is also one of the most reasonably priced in the area and they have a nice, clean, simple and a clean studio. Although this place is right above a restaurant, it’s absolutely quiet and no disturbance whatsoever from downstairs.
P. S. The facial here involves minimal massage on the face. They just use a lot of good products on your skin and let them do the trick. But if you are looking for a nice massage on the face and neck, that’s not what you’ll get.

Today I had my first massage of 2 that I got thought a silent auction. My session was with Josh-and all I can say is WOW! I didn’t realize that the Blue Dragon was in Kawaihae until this morning-and I live in Kona, so it was an hour drive to get there… and completely, absolutely WORTH IT! The salon is gorgeous, air conditioned, super clean and I feel AMAZING. What a treat!

I’m going to keep this review short and sweet.
Massage: 5 stars! One of the best massages ever. Very very relaxing. She listened to my needs and have me thorough massage without being too rough leaving me sore like most do. Felt relaxed for days after my massage without any issues. Great oils and lotions used, great smells.
Price: 5 star! For a 90 minute massage it was the best value I’ve seen. Location is everything. Away from all the hustle and bustle it was easy to access and a great kept secret.
The ladies here are lovely give this place a try you won’t regret it !

Cochina (sp) was UNBELIEVABLE!!!
She gave me the best massage that I have ever gotten. She handled some problem spots that I have had for years. Very strong and very deep!
I can’t recommend her enough!!!
I can’t wait to go back to the big island again just for a massage!!!

I came to the big island for vacation and came down with a migraine.
I found this place on Unilocal and called with fingers-crossed.
I got in with Beth within a few hours. She was fantastic.
It is above a restaurant but do not let that sway you. You can hear nothing, smell nothing — there was even a band playing and I had no idea until I was walking out.
I recommend Beth and Blue Dragon without hesitating — if you are unsure please take a chance and give it a shot.
You will not be disappointed.

Had a massage from Beth today. Excellent. You know how they always ask where you have pain, but then during the massage it seems they already forgot or they only know their same routine? Well not here. The massage was tailored based on my input and her skill. I like deep massages with lots of pressure. Beth found all the nooks and crannies. She knows how the muscles interact and different tricks to make them stop hiding, yet I was at complete ease and relaxed throughout. As I run, lift weights yoga, and Pilates, I get massages every other month. She still seemed to find new stress points I hadn’t had a massage therapist find before. My brother had gotten one before her and we were both commenting hours later how great it was. Great value for the extremely high quality massage. I plan to book a 90 min one before I go.

Highly recommended!!! My wife and I went here since the resorts spa prices are way too expensive and not guaranteed they will provide the best service. We went here based on Unilocal reviews. We for our moneys worth. Reasonable price and excellent massage. May lack a little bit of ambiance but it’s the massage we went here for. My wife who is pregnant also had a very good massage. Call them first to ask for availability. We will come back again!!!

I visited Blue Dragon today and had a fantastic experience. Renee gave me a great 90 minute deep tissue massage, possibly one of the best I’ve ever had. It was an easy 15 minute drive from my Waikoloa hotel, and well worth it for such a great result. I will visit again and highly recommend !

Hi there, I was visiting the «Big Island» and staying at a big resort on the Kohala Coast. I love to get a massage on vacation, but I hate getting them at resorts because they’re outrageously expensive and never that good.
I found Blue Dragon Bodywork by chance — I went to their restaurant and «musciquarium» (which was awesome, too) and saw the sign. I looked them up online and made an appointment for myself and one for a friend I was traveling with.
We saw Melisssa and Jackie and we both LOVED our massages. Reasonably priced, excellent massage and best of all, they offered a Lomi Lomi Massage — a traditional Hawaiian style massage. It even started with a traditional Hawaiian style chant or prayer calling on the wisdom of the practitioner’s teachers. Very, very cool.
I will go back there every year when I visit.

Renee was amazing. I was a first timer but I cannot imagine a better massage. My wife also had one and she is a much more experienced massagee. She said it was the best massage she ever had as well.

After a plane ride home, where we sat shoulder-to-shoulder for 5 hrs, I was very stiff. Called Blue Dragon Bodyworks for a Sunday appointment. Melissa was available and I had a 90 min appt. It was the most relaxing massage and she got the kinks out, too. Thank you, Unilocal for steering me to a fantastic massage.

I love Blue Dragon! Fantastic massage. I am a big guy and it takes a lot of pressure to loosen up my back and neck muscles. Renee is really strong and she just digs in. It feels great! Renee makes the backache from the long flight from the mainland just disappear.

My husband and I have set a goal to become regulars of Blue Dragon Bodywork. We visit the Big Island five times a year, and appointments with Renee at Blue Dragon are among our must-do activities.
My husband appreciates a firm, deep-tissue massage, and Renee meets the challenge! I prefer a lighter touch, and she adapts her style to my needs.
The facility is a bit surprising, given its location above a restaurant, but there is no conflict as their business hours are completely different. Blue Dragon’s décor is lovely, and you know you’ve entered a relaxing and restful space as soon you walk in the door.
The Big Island’s resorts feature numerous spas. Blue Dragon offers superb massage treatment for half the cost of resort spas.

vacation hours are precious, and we are so glad that we spent a relaxing, healing hour with the ladies at Bluedragon. A fantastic little spa oasis in the middle of paradise! The staff here are great– professional, knowledgeable and friendly. The facility was immaculate and up to date. We enjoyed 1.5 hours of indulgence– massage, body scrub with locally made products, mini facial treatment all at a fraction of the cost from the local resort spas. They accept credit cards, have a complete shower to use after your treatment, sell the body scrubs they use– really a great place to treat your mind, body, and soul! Located above a restaurant by the same name, don’t be fooled by the location (and go to the restaurant for dinner– another fantastic find!)
