I’m in town from Los Angeles for the week. So far I’ve tried out four other BBQ joints and this is by far the worst! If you are a fan of jerky, then you might enjoy the food here. The ribs are extremely dry and lack flavor. The price is also inflated.

I have heard about Arthur Bryant’s since we have lived here and it has battled it out for recognition in line with Joe’s KC and Gates BBQ. Well Joe’s beats Bryant’s when it comes to burnt ends by far. The sides are good(baked beans, potato salad, and Cole slaw). The sausage is good too. But the burnt ends are stored in a heated tray soaked in BBQ sauce. They are not as tender as I like. Plus the sauce is not that good in my opinion. They should serve them dry and let us put our own sauce on it.

We went to Arthur Bryant’s because our friends we in town visiting from Wichita. We ordered burnt ends and brisket. All of the food was extremely dry and the burnt ends were hard as a rock. The beans were cold and the service was rude and slow. When we got home everyone had extremely bad diarrhea! We were horrified for bringing our friends there!

Got a combo, the burnt ends were very good, the sliced beef rather boring without a lot of taste. The 3 sauces was good too but after spending nearly $ 40 on lunch, they wouldn’t give me a to go cut for iced tea, they wanted $ 1.20. Poor customer service

Had a craving for BBQ on a Sunday, as you know KC Joe’s is closed on Sundays and this place was on the drive home. I have never really been a fan of AB but I had a craving… I should’ve just got some ribs from Price Chopper… we got ribs, burnt ends and sausage, all of which were horrible. Ribs were like jerky, burnt ends were in something that was kind of like BBQ sauce but had an odd flavor, Just fatty chucks of meat. And the sausage was a sliced meat? I thought it would be, you know… smoked link sausage. overall, the food was HORRIBLE. Moral of this story. don’t waste your time at this location… I can’t speak of the other locations but stay away from the AB @ the legends… just gross

I had no idea bbq could be fast food but this location has a drive-thru! So, my hubby and I grabbed some food to go and enjoy on our long trip back to Nebraska. It’s messy, so I wouldn’t recommend it, but we made it work! We got lots of food! Ribs, burnt ends and chicken, plus a side of potato salad and fries to share amongst ourselves. Arthur Bryants are known for the burnt ends and they were very good. The chicken was a little drier than I prefer but them ribs though! Mmmhmm. I am NOT a fan of their vinegary, watery sauce and I could totally live without that potato salad. I could also do without the attitude of the woman taking our order. Yes, it took us a minute to decide but there was no enthusiasm, no welcome, no patience for our questions.

We were returning something at Nebraska Furniture Mart and while driving into the Legends, out of the corner of my eye, I saw Arthur Bryants. It was Friday around 6:00. Parking was plentiful, I suppose everyone was shopping. We were surprised cause there were plenty of empty tables. The menu you read from the wall when you walk in. They have their specials written on a chalk board in the middle of both menus. While I considered the special, I got a short end of ribs and fries. Within seconds, it was ready. My mom was with me, and when she asked what something was, they answered, «We’re out.»(Really?). She got the special which was a pulled beef sandwich. The ribs were delicious. The table had 3 sauce choices: sweet, rich and spicy and original. I liked the original. The fries were as expected, very good. I almost got in line for carrot cake but by the time I decided, the line was too long. I gave them three star for not explaining what a menu item was, instead, said«we’re out.» I like Arthur Bryants, and if you’re in the area, this is an excellent choice to stop. Oh, and someone with children ahead of me ordered peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, so it’s kid friendly. But for the best BBQ, go to Jack Stacks or Joe’s.

Our visit was a great experience and it was during the week night however the food was delicious. We received the pulled pork sandwich and it was plentiful and tasteful. I sampled the sliced pork and you can taste the smoke/mesquite flavor throughout the meat. We were full with our dinner meal because we wanted fries and they were real potatoes and awesome. The location may loose you if relying on GPS however keep searching across the Legends parking lot. Overall, I recommend this restaurant to others and they have the option as drive through.

Large portions & well flavored classic BBQ. We called in take out and brought back to hotel room. The facility has a separate entrance for take out including convenient parking. Chicken sandwich is a very generous portion. It’s a ½ chicken served with 2 slices of bread underneath & fries. Also ordered the 1lb of beef, although it was somewhat dry. Their sauces are great and staff provided us a nice assortment. Get some extra napkins as it gets messy!

Place is ok. This is the second bbq joint in KC I’ve ate at and I have to say, for a town known for their bbq, I’m really disappointed. There is a little joint in Morgantown WV that is better than the two places I’ve had here, and that city is known for cooking couches not bbq! Was the food bad at Arthur Bryant’s…no. Was it good… no. Would I eat here again??? I’m going to have to say NO! Btw I had the pulled pork sandwich with a side of coleslaw. Isn’t the coleslaw supposed to come on a pulled pork sandwich???

I came here with my coworker for lunch on a Friday. It wasn’t busy when we came there after 12pm. There was plenty of parking as well. It was a long time since I’ve been to Arthur Bryant’s but was in the mood for burnt ends. The menu was physically large so it was easy to read. I ordered the Burnt Ends with fries($ 11.35) and a soda($ 2.60). It took a few minutes after telling them what I wanted to order. We sat down at a table near the entrance. The Burnt Ends were good and I liked the spicy BBQ sauce out of the three(original, sweet, and spicy) BBQ sauces. The bread that came with the food was nothing special and the fries were good in my opinion. I was full when I finished my food. This place was good for BBQ if you’re in the area.

I have a very open mind about barbecue, Kansas City barbecue that is and I have always like Arthur Bryants. I’ve eaten at the place on the East Side and enjoyed it. So my Home Skillet and I decide to mosey on in for a lunch of ribs but… they had burnt ends and I can’t turn down burnt ends. The portion was HUGE and I ordered fries and some slaw. Wow! Two meals, but, I did manage to wolf it all down. I really wasn’t hungry the rest of the day! Bryant’s is one of my favorite sauces in Kansas City. No too sweet and I do like the tanginess. I like several other places in KC too. I will definitely be back. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was busy but they got us through quickly. I enjoyed a big strawberry soda too.

Dear Laaaawd. Whatever you do, please don’t eat here. Trust me. I’m a religious Unilocaler. And I don’t mean I will preach the gospel about anything to you… other than… do not eat here. The first time I visited this location was about 10 years ago. It was brand spanking new. It seemed like a good idea and an excellent choice. After all was said and done, we vowed not to return. Flash forward 10 years. Went during a Sporting game night. They apparently have this deal where you spend $ 40 there, you get a free«pass» in your window so you can park in their lot right across from the park. Seemed like an okay deal. Now, I will also say that we in fact DO have parking passes for the park, but thought this close parking seemed like a good idea. We were convinced by friends(and a fellow Unilocaler – shame! shame!) to eat here. The place was dirty. There were at least a dozen or possibly two dozen tables that were not bussed and full of dirty dishes and food. I get that they were slammed before we got there. But really, man, just start bussing the tables. Flies buzzing around stacked heaps of dirty dishes is not appealing. I ordered the«burnt ends» because the friendly man behind the counter egged me on with a sample. We were in a hurry so without thinking or absorbing the taste of the sample, I ordered them plus slaw and beans. Hubby got pulled pork. My «burnt ends» we’re really chunks of beef, each with its own thick fatty end, covered in «BBQ» sauce which tasted much like store brand ketchup. No, not the good Heinz brand. Store brand. The slaw… well I hesitantly took a tiny bite first and thank God I didn’t consume more. Worst. Slaw. Ever. Funky and sour tasting on the verge of «should have tossed me away a few days ago.» The beans, although not nearly fabulous, were the highlight of the meal. The pulled pork was a massive pile of pork covered in the same«BBQ sauce which suspiciously tastes like store brand ketchup» sitting on top of a piece of white bread. This, coupled with the fact that there was no silver wear out and the empty silver wear tray on the counter was dirty and full of «crumbs» ensures I will never repeat this mistake again. Like ever.

Not bad for a big BBQ joint, but there are better places to go for BBQ. I would not recommend for people with small children. There are no diaper changing stations in the restaurant. Frustrating if you have a little one.

This was week 14 in «The Kansas City BBQ Tour.» The pulled pork was served open face, a different feel for traditional barbecue. The meat tasted like a home made stew pork rather than barbecue, but was not bad. The sauce however was just a taste of vinegar and was pretty thin. The fries lacked good flavor and crispiness, but we’re not completely dissatisfying. Over all they received a 70%.

Sporting KC and Bryant’s are a great combination on game day. Head to the stadium 90 min early, get in line and a slab of ribs, huge turkey Sammie, pile of fries, 4 drinks, minus the $ 50 bill in my wallet and I’ve just discovered the best deal on game day. With that purchase, I have a front row parking spot for any game… and a happy family. Only wish I could guarantee a win with that purchase, but Bryant’s guarantees the food… Just be careful if you wear white… Bryant’s is famous for«to go» looks… that are hard to wash out…

My wife and I were in KC for a long weekend vacation and we were by the Sporting KC stadium, which has an Arthur Bryant outlet right next door. I had HUGE expectations for this place. You enter and it is like a cafeteria line, where you get a tray and the swoosh you through. I got the pig on a bun special, which was pulled pork on a bun with some coleslaw on top. It came out quick onto the tray and I ordered a Boulevard Pale Ale to go with it. They give you a LOT of meat on top of the bun, and the coleslaw is solid, the only thing that turned me off was that there was no way you could eat this as a sandwich(EdinaProblems) The sauce was good and all that, but the pork was a little fatty, so I couldn’t really taste all the awesome meat that was supposed to be underneath. The french fries looked good though, although I didn’t try any. I almost wanted to steal one from a patron, just to try one of them. The beer was pretty awesome, though, I am not a huge Boulevard fan. I think the KC population doesn’t like the hoppy beers as much as the Minneapolis crowd. A little more«Earthy». Good BBQ, but I had such gigantic expectations, it was like seeing Star Wars Episode 1 and saying, «Yeah, it was okay» I just wanted it to be «Blow my mind away good» I have had San Antonio BBQ, which is a 10, this would probably be 5 or 6.

This was THEWORST food ever! I was full of instant regret as soon as I was served my meal. I ate a few bites and then saw a weird tube artery looking thing poking out of the burnt ends. I stopped eating afterwards. I have felt sick all day and I keep thinking of that piece of meat. I must rid my body, mind, and soul of this meal. I will never ever return.

As far as I can tell, the food is almost as good as the original location. The service left something to be desired but you only have to deal with them when you first order and pay. I had the burnt ends(of course), which were pretty good. The fries were really good, if you like them soft. And it all went really well with a mug of Boulevard Wheat! I’ll be back since it’s so close to home!

Visited here on a business lunch. Had a visiting executive in town and I would have not been doing my job as a KC resident if I hadn’t suggested BBQ. I really wanted Joe’s, but I knew it would be a long wait so AB in the Legends was the other option. It was pretty quiet for nearly 1 pm on a Thursday. My two companions and I all got beef sandwiches. Total of 5 sides, 3 sandwiches, and 3 drinks between us ran a tab of over $ 50. Yeowch. Thankfully that was on the company dime. Next to no one in the restaurant so we got to sit wherever we wanted. My fries were the best part of the meal. My meat was really fatty and next to inedible. I also tend to prefer a sweeter sauce. AB uses a vinegar based sauce, so it’s sharper on the tongue. This visit, I tried the spicier sauce and I liked it a lot better than the vinegar based one. I managed to pick my way through the meat and eat all my fries. The executive liked his meal, but I got the feeling it wasn’t memorable. Sorry AB, I’m a Joe’s man.
