Had the Walleye dinner last night. Excellent flavor– it was so good. Crisp and flakey. The three piece meal was big enough to share some with everyone at the table. They had all ordered burgers — but after trying the Walleye, they wished they had ordered it as well. Big hit for everyone!

I drive by McDonalds for the butterbuger every day. With grilled onions. Oh, and the Chocolate malt, after a bad day, fixes all.

I haven’t eaten here in a while & now remember why. I had the Swiss Melt single meal. Hardly any meat on it! This sandwich was one of those thin smashed patty types. The onions needed cooking longer & it was dry. They need to develop a sauce for it. I love their crinkle cut fries! The best part of my visit was the staff. Garcia the cashier/manager did a great job answering my questions and the lady who brought out our food was very accommodating. It did take a little longer than expected for my food to arrive but it was freshly made. I wouldn’t classify this as really a fast food joint with the staff & wait for the food.

3 stars because their food is greasy and not even sub-par. However, their frozen custard is delicious! Go here just for the frozen custard. Everything else will be a disappointment.

The staff is always friendly and the restaurant, always clean. I had the crispy southwest chicken sandwich, which was VERY good. The fries are kinda meh, so I’d recommend cheese curds for fun!

Culver’s will always have a special place in my heart, because it’s where my daughter first tried ice cream. Yes I know it’s technically ‘custard,’ but nobody talks about their kid’s first custard, so I’m calling it ice cream. I actually think their custard isn’t anything special. It’s good, but Freddy’s & Sheridan’s definitely have it beat. The best part of Culver’s is the cheese curds. Definitely a death bed/death row food for me. Those curds, despite the weird name, are so freaking fantastic I can’t even explain it in words. It’s like on ‘Friends’ when Joey says ‘fried stuff with cheese!’ That’s what the curds are, and why they’re so good, and also why you should walk home afterwards. They’re definitely not a health food. If curds aren’t your thing(although I can’t imagine that) you can get other side dishes too– from green beans, mashed potatoes, to fries, of course. Although their fries are mushy, crinkly, and flavorless. Their burgers are good, although the buns are always kind of dry. Except the special Pub burger that they have a few times a year. It’s served on a different kind of bun, and it’s a knockout of delicious flavors. The outdoor seating is nice on a warm day, the service is always really good and attentive, the place is bright & clean, although the room spray they use in the restroom could choke a giant. They have vanilla & chocolate custards daily, and can always make a great ‘concrete’ with your choice of ingredients. The salted caramel with cashews is delish, and the Heath bar one is crazy good. Of course I say that though, since I am fairly obsessed with Heath. They also offer a ‘flavor of the day’ custard, which they post on their sign outside, which can be very tempting/dangerous as you drive by. Their flavors of the day are all over the place– from candy to fruit to cheesecake to blends of all those. The fresh peach, offered in Summer, is a standout. They often have coupons in the Sunday paper, and you can sign up to get texts from them. They don’t come too annoyingly frequently, and usually include a nice coupon too. I recommend either dining in the restaurant, or ordering inside and getting it to-go rather than using the drive-thru. The drive-thru needs work. My order has been wrong a few times, although they’re always polite & quick to make it right, but it shouldn’t even get to that point. Plus I think it’s weird that they give you your custard first, then tell you to drive up and wait for the rest of your order to be delivered. Waiting in my car with melting custard that I’d rather have come out AFTER my meal seems backward and odd to me.

Culver’s is the second best fast food I’ve ever had, the best that’s available in KC. There’s just something about that butterburger that makes me happy. What doesn’t make me happy is the calories… and now they are printed on the menu so I know how bad I’m being. I’m sure that’s good for the health conscious people out there, but let’s be honest, those people aren’t coming here. The staff are always friendly, the food is always good, the shakes are out of this world. My standard is the double butterburger-cheese, ketchup, and pickle and a small chocolate, banana, caramel shake(you should try it, but don’t say I didn’t warn you how good it is). The cheese curds are amazing too… but after knowing how many calories were in them, I had to share them :)

If you’re in the mood for a late night ice cream treat, this is your place! And you won’t break the bank on a visit. No, it’s not anything fancy, or nutritious, I’m sure, but it is definitely your late night answer to an ice cream craving. They have all kinds of creations from sundaes to shakes and blended ice cream concoctions. The easiest thing to do is to order the flavor of the month that is posted on all of the doors, windows, billboards and registers. You won’t be disappointed. The most recent visit found us indulging in a «chocolate cherry something,» and it hit the spot! I wouldn’t suggest this for an impressive first date dessert option, but after 30 years of marriage it hits the bullseye for late night ice cream indulgence!

There’s just something extra creamy about concretes! Today we shared a short vanilla with banana, brownie and almond mix ins($ 5. Nuts were an up charge). Yes, totally worth it. So decadently creamy but somehow light. Yum yum. We may be back tomorrow for the seasonal salted caramel pumpkin concrete.

After bbq, we had to have custard. I am sad we dont have these type of frozen treat in California. The custard was really rich and dense. I had one scoop with blackberry. They did not hold back on the berry and there was a lot of whole pieces!

Better than in N’ Out. Yea, I said it– come at me In N Out Bros. Culvers is the best fast food burger IMHO. This viewpoint has been upheld by numerous friends, blind taste tests, and a narrow 5 – 4 Supreme Court ruling(thanks Alito). They have way more variety of options than the usual fast food place(other than say Jack in the Box which has Tacos and Sushi which is terrifying). And they have custard which is delicious. AND cheese curds. I mean if this place sued Disney they could probably win the rights to be called the Magic Kingdom. Here are the things you need to know when eating at a Culvers –Cheese curds– these are little balls of fried cheese and pixie dust — you get them instead of fries(or in addition to fries if you are a baller) –Concrete Mixer– this is like a DQ blizzard only they give you a healthier dose of candy and the custard is very thick and creamy, not airy and weird like DQ soft serve now is(or always was?) –Burger– this is really where Culvers knocks competition out of the park– they have a ton of different burgers/sandwiches so you are given more choice than just 1 patty or 2. They usually always have a few specialty burgers that rotate in and out every few months along with like 8 burger options and a few melts In closing, if you find yourself driving by a Culver’s you should probably stop because really you weren’t going anywhere good anyway.

I’m going to be as honest as possible. 1 star may seem harsh, but they’ve earned it. I used to work at this location, and I genuinely have nothing but bad things to say about it, and I’m not the kind of person to say that. first off, the owners pay the managers $ 9.00/hr, no exceptions. the crew members make minimum wage. My biggest complaint is that the restaurant is almost entirely Mexican immigrants, many of whom are illegal and do not speak english. The Mexican managers were nasty and rude to any American crew members. I complained to the owners about this, and they told me toughen up and quickly left the meeting. please do not support these people.

This was the first Culver’s I ever patronized back in 2003. I became an addict of the Culver’s Double Deluxe with everything on it, large fries and large Dr. Pepper or Sierra Mist… I don’t do Pepsi. Always a delicious burger that isn’t fake-tasting like Mickey D’s or Burger King. Great fries. Good service. I don’t get down this way regularly but when I do, and it’s time to get a quick, but quality bite to eat, this is the place.

Good, greasy burger, good shakes, good pork tenderloin, good fries, good onion rings, good ice cream cake, good cheese balls… Basically everything you get at Culver’s is good. Nothing particularly special or out of the usual, but its a chain diner/fast food joint, what are you expecting? It’s certainly better than McDonalds or the like. Is it fine dining, no. Is it good for you, no. Is it a tasty option when you are on the run, you bet. Also, the service is always very nice, no matter which location you go to.

I am certainly a fan of Culver’s. Anyplace that makes a burger the old fashioned way like they do here, and toasts the buns, and puts mayo on there standard burger… well… they have my business. You may not like the fatty 70/30ish meat they use or the seared exterior of the meat, so don’t eat a burger here if that is not your thing. Culver’s is like Steak and Shake with more meat and better shakes. It’s like Chick Fil A for service. So that is pretty darn good company for a franchise. This is no place for the lactose intolerant, but If you can do dairy and don’t want anything other than custard/shake/sundae/etc, Culver’s custard is very good as well.

Always a good burger. At times, bread can be a bit stale. The concretes are the best part of the experience. They need to bring back the chipotle cheese curds!

I decided to take a slight detour off the KCBBQ Quest and try something else. When I first drove into town yesterday I drove past this place and my interest was piqued. So I looked the place up on Unilocal and I knew I had to try it out. I second and third everything that has been said about this place, it is spotless, the people were friendly. The man at the counter came around the dining room asking if everything was okay and if we needed refills. When was the last time you saw that at a fast food joint? On to the food… butterburgers — sounds juicy, greasy, something I had a feeling I would like. I ordered the double butterburger with cheese basket. I loved it, it was juicy, it was greasy, and on top of everything it was pretty cheap. I also bought a pint of their frozen custard to go — turtle cheesecake(you can also order customized with assorted topping i.e. m&ms, oreo cookies, nuts etc). I am eating the custard as I type this. It is sweet but the saltiness of the pecan halves(yes I said halves not bits or crumbs) really compliments it’s sweetness. I was going to spread this over a couple evenings but I don’t think that is going to happen.
