I was very impressed by the service and products at HMK. As a guy carted around by his fiancé at the Plaza, this is the kind of store I’m used to nodding and agreeing at, hoping to get on to something more «fun» (read as food-​related). They greeted us at the door, offered us cookies twice, and told us details about the products we were interested in that showed a great knowledge and passion for their product line. If we had found this before Christmas, we likely would have bought many of our presents here.

HMK is my new favorite paper goods store. I was previously a paper source fan. but HMK blows Paper Source out of the water. When you first walk in, you are warmly greeted and given a WARM sugar cookie. WARM people. Every time. It’s incredible.
They not only have a great selection of cards /​wrapping paper, but they feature products from lots of local artists. They also have a station where they will work with you to create custom designs /​stationery.
I bought a card here a few weeks ago, but when I got home, the envelope had stuck to the card, leaving residue on the card. I took it back, and they exchanged it no questions asked. Great customer service. Love this place!

I love coming into this store because they greet you with sincere salutations and warm cookies! What store gives you a free cookie for checking them out? This is the only one I have found!
What really shines about this retail store is that they offer a wide variety of items that can be personalized for affordable prices. The place looks high end and offers high quality pieces but at reasonable prices. This is not Things Remembered or other generic personalization setup. They offer fun and creative types of products like laser cut silhouette portraits of you and or your pet. Most of the services can be taken care of within the day but some items (such as the silhouettes) take an artist a week or two to render. As with all custom businesses during the busy holiday season, allow yourself some extra time just in case but it also doesn’t hurt to ask — each time I have spoken with someone they were quite helpful.
This place is also highly recommended for Kansas City themed gifts that do not feel souvenir like but more so for the proud residents.

I was absolutely thrilled to visit the new concept store HMK by Hallmark. It is a lovely store full of trinkets, cards, and home-​ware that make excellent gifts. I happened to stop in on Christmas Eve as I was present shopping on the Plaza and made an impulse buy for some greeting cards. I was surprised to learn that you could buy regular greeting cards as I thought that only more time-​consuming and expensive personalized cards would be available.
I picked two beautifully designed and worded Christmas cards that the recipients loved. I noticed husband and wife greeting card sections that were cute and definitely worth the higher price points of upwards $ 8 per card (those Hallmark graphic designers are definitely worth their salaries).
