John R. Gordon, DDS

As a general dentist I liked John Gordon when I was going to him. I had him do some bonding as well and he did a good job. My issue was that he pushed the sleep guard on me. Guaranteed it would make my jaw feel better. What it did was knock the disc out of its joints on both sides and locked my mouth shut for about 3 months. It was incredibly painful. I had to drink Ensure shakes for weeks for nutrition since I couldn’t eat. He said he couldn’t do anything for me and also wouldn’t refund me anything for the mouth guard that caused the problem. I was left to deal with it on my own. That happened a few years ago and I still deal with major jaw issues caused by that. Beware of the mouth guard he’s selling!

I’ve never had a dentist office that I «enjoyed» going to until Gordon Dental! Dr John has the most caring and compassionate personality. I am a real dental phobe do to many dental emergencies and a couple traumatic dental surgeries early in life, when I found Gordon Dental they understood my fears, and helped calm me. I do not live in Kansas City, but I was in town for the week. Bad timing for my teeth as I was experiencing major tooth pain while in KC. This issue is something I had seen two different dentists about back home, but neither could figure out what the problem was. I thought I’d have to deal with the pain forever, but while in KC it simply became unbearable.
Lucky for me, I called Gordon Dental and they were able to fit me in for an appointment. Philip Gordon took x-​rays, examined my teeth, and explained a plan, to which I said «Please, do whatever you need to.» Less than 2 hours later I was all fixed up. I could tell from Dr. Gordon’s technique that he knew what he was doing. The office is quite nice and they have very high tech equipment. I certainly felt in great hands. His entire staff is very friendly and professional.
Once the anesthesia wore off, I knew Dr. Gordon had accurately diagnosed and fixed the problem. Yay! I am beyond thrilled. As I said, I had already been to two dentists who did not fix the issue, so it ended up being my good fortune to need dental care while in Kansas City!
