Just an update. After explaining our situation, in a Tweet on the Twitter, I was approached by Lowe’s Cares. I suspect it’s a little like Comcast Cares. I was directed to a rant and rave page, where I typed in my Unilocal review. Within an hour, we got a call from the store manager. He set up the date(yesterday) and assured us we’d get the right refrigerator. He took 10% off. They were to call, give us a 2 hour window as we have doggies that need to be persuaded into a room with the door closed. They were supposed to photograph the woodwork damage and take pictures, sand it and fix it. They called yesterday at 12:15. They showed up at around 3ish. We had already put the food back into the coolers again. They told us the refrigerator we received was a test refrigerator, never meant to be sold in the first place to anyone. They rolled their eyes at the woodwork damage, and finally got the test refrigerator out of the house. They installed the new refrigerator, glanced at the woodwork scratch with an eyeroll and left. By now, I’m tired of Lowes and Sears and refrigerators and inadequacy. As a customer, I’ve been finished with Sears for awhile. As a customer of Lowe’s, it’ll be a long time before I go into Independence Lowes. But I really need to ask them why they didn’t sand and fix the scratch like the manager insisted they would be doing.

Friendly people always willing to help. I do not go here to get paint, even though the Valspar signature which i have used is very good, but the paint department has not been the same since Jerome left. Appliances, plumbing, doors and electrical are staffed by people like Richard, Julie, Don and John who know what they are doing.

I checked out this location the week they opened and locked onto a wonderful bathroom vanity. There wasn’t a price on it so I disregarded it. Over a year later wife and I were actually redoing our bathroom. We went back to Lowe’s and I asked about the vanity. No one knew the price. I asked for a supervisor. He couldn’t find a price, I asked for the store manager, she couldn’t find a price. During our conversations they even told me multiple other people had inquired about the vanity. After 3 hours of trying to give lowe’s my money they gave me a phone # to call. I waited on hold for 20mins to get a guy who didn’t know what I was talking about. Why do you have a product in your store that’s not for sale? I called the store and offered between 300 – 500 dollars for the vanity that had sat unsold for over a year. I was turned down. They finally put a price tag of one thousand dollars on it! I couldn’t believe it… That same vanity has been taking up space in their store for over 2 years now. What a waste of floor space. The employees there were nice enough but I won’t be back. after going all the way up to the store manager and not getting an answer, I doubt their ability to handle any customer service issue.
