We were in town for a conference & looking for a spot to hit up on our last night. After much walking on a freezing Friday night, we ended up here. First impressions-bouncers are dicks & think way too much of their position as a door man. Doesn’t cost them anything to crack a smile, make the most basic of conversation, OR answer questions from obvious out-of-towers w/o an asshole attitude. Got in & it was a $ 10 cover-no biggie. There was an optional coat check for $ 5 but you were free to carry it yourself. Crowd was obviously local & predominantly black, but the few whites & Latinos there were perfectly fine/comfortable. Woman working the restroom was an older black lady & as cute as can be. Extremely friendly & so appreciative of the tips thrown(deservedly) her way. Now the music… was off the hook!!! A lot of hard core hip hop but also a ton of down home good DANCING music! Ended up dancing our booties off & had a great last night in KC. Club closed at 3am with a last call around 2:15, 2:30am but we were done by then anyway. Left & caught a cab with absolutely no help with aforementioned dickhead bouncers & went home with smiles on our faces.

A club’s a club to me. Just because bouncers and door folks dress up in suits, it doesn’t really impress me; especially after living in NYC and living the bougy scene. Nonetheless, we were probably treated a bit nicer because we had a table and a couple bottles. We got there around 11pm and it was dead at first,(which is expected) but the venue quickly filled up. The music is fun, I like the upper deck where the tables are so you can look down on the dance floor, and it’s a pretty mixed crowd on a Saturday night. I believe I saw a sign at the front that stated cover was $ 10.

Not my scene, at all. If you like night clubs you might be able to give more info. My one real thing to say about it is EVERYTHING was sticky.

The décor in Luna is amazing. The thing is they need better PR and more promotion to compete with other nightclubs. The p&l is down the street so I’m sure competetion is feirce. My sales girl at bebe got me in for free & free drinks! This place has soo much potential!

Do not waste your money. Not worth your time in line either. If you must go, go early before the line forms. Music is ok, drinks are ok. No one really dances, it is more of a bar atmosphere in a club setting. I went with a group of friends and none of us were impressed.

Y not check out the newish place right? The night we went it was $ 5 cover for everybody and it was after 11PM, so this must fluctuate(DK) and because a pal mentioned it was going to be $ 20. Decent enough interior if you block out some aspects(mirrors on the far wall), interesting mix of people, all types, this place is still figuring itself out in that regard. Both ms club DJs were predictably horrible, drinks were reasonably priced, cool that they are down w/recycling as the glasses had to have been from Blonde. The upstairs reminded me of the club scene in 25th Hour so that was a highlight. Club people normally ruin clubs, but this isn’t any worse than a bar with a forgettable touring band or tired way too loud playlist. Not amped/planning to go back but I wouldn’t fight it at all if the group/the dudes proposed returning. Here’s hoping it blossoms, it didn’t have any TVs so maybe I should give it a fourth star.

Hm… surprised there’s no review. I guess not many people go to the clubs here. I went here when it was 15twenty. It was pretty good then. But I think it’s better now. More sleeker and sexier. The dj on Saturday night was really good too, JT Quick. Good club beats and dance mixes. Lots of good hip hop. But djs change every week, so I always check out who’s playing. Before 11pm there was free cover. But we got table service anyways. Which started at 180. Blah, so expensive, but there were 15ish of us. The door guys were pretty friendly and helpful. A couple friends didn’t get there til after 11 and they let them in without having to pay cover. But it was only $ 5 for ladies. So not a big deal if they did. Overall nice club. Great dance floor. Pretty loud though… but not bust out the ear drums loud.
